Tokyo is a beautiful place, and I feel everyone must visit the place once in their lifetime. With beautiful views of mountains, rivers, cherry blossoms, and more natural elements, you can enjoy the place to its hilt.   With me sharing some of the delicious food, the safest and nicest place to stay, and things to do, you can make your plan for one day in Tokyo. Furthermore, the itinerary for a day ensures that you will get a feeling for the place, especially if you have a limited budget.   If you are looking for February vacation ideas, this is it for you. Plan it accordingly to create an itinerary that will help you make memories.  Read What Is It Like to Have One Day in Tokyo!   If it is just for a day, you should choose a place which is at the central location of the city so that you do not waste much time while traveling. I would suggest any place that is on the Yamanote Loop line whether it be Tokyo station or Shinjuku.   It will also help you plan correctly whether it is the places, the food, or the location. Tokyo can easily become one of the best places to travel with kids. Let me share with you this information along with some tips that are perfect for your itinerary!   Where to Stay!   Are you a little worried about your stay, especially if you plan to stay one day in Tokyo? Let me share with you some of the places, you can rest assured it will be both fun and safe. Additionally, you also need to know where to stay if you are living for a longer period.   One of the most exotic places to travel, Tokyo is beautiful to visit. Some of the coolest, most interesting, and safest neighborhoods to stay when visiting Tokyo are as follows:   Shinjuku   In terms of preference, I would say Shinjuku ranks the highest as a location because you will find great transport connections, delicious dining opportunities, and an amazing shopping experience. This place is known for the young crowd hence, the place also caters to them.   Starting from foodies to shopaholics, the place can satisfy starting from sudden cravings to planned dinner parties. The most important Yamanote Line is available here hence, it is perfect for you if you have plans to travel regularly. Also, the best bookshop in Tokyo, Kinokuniya is in Shinjuku.   Let's not forget that the place can be a little overwhelming with crowds, several bars, and restaurants. So, if you are traveling with kids, it can be a little too much for children, hence, please be a little aware of it.    Marunouchi Area/ Tokyo Station   Another perfect place to stay if you are not a homebody! The main transport hub of Tokyo is surrounded by great hotels, shops, department stores, and restaurants. If you are someone who loves parks, this is the place for you. There are several adjoining parks, plus you can visit the Imperial Palace.   The place can feel a little dead in the evening especially when people are inside restaurants or taking a stroll. However, the more you explore, you will see it is one of the coolest places to be if you are looking for exploration.   Roppongi   Another place to stay, if you are an explorer. Not just tourists, even the locals prefer Roppongi over other places to stay. The place is sexy with its come-hither feel, Roppongi is known for its glamorous nightlife and delicious dining experience.   Be it clubbers or fine diners, Roppongi is rated as one of the most attractive places to be. A cosmopolitan reflection of big money, be it foreign or Japanese, Roppongi shines bright. However, one of the negative points of this place is it is not on the Yamanote Loop line which can be difficult for an explorer.   You will have to travel long routes, and you will have to spend more money especially when you cannot access the loop line while staying in Roppongi.   Where to Eat!   If you are wondering what to eat when visiting Tokyo, let me share with you some of the iconic dishes. You will develop an immersive culinary experience when trying these dishes along with enjoying the beautiful places in Tokyo.  Just to be on the safe side, you must have the best travel credit card! It will help you if you are in any crisis.  Ramen – There are various ramen dishes, starting from spicy miso to rich tonkatsu. A combination of juicy meat, nori sheets, perfectly cooked egg, and bamboo shoots presents this feel-good hearty broth.   Yakitori – This is one of my favorites, the dish is skewered chicken which is of course savored grilled. Mostly, it is seasoned with salt or tare sauce.   Tempura – Deep-fried vegetables or seafood, you will fall in love with this crispy dish.   Sushi – It is one of the most popular cuisines of Japan, you will get a variety starting from creative rolls to classic nigiri.   Okonomiyaki – A specialty of Hiroshima, this dish is a savory pancake with various mix-ins such as cabbage, pork belly, and shallots! It is a combination of an omelet and a pancake.   Must See Tokyo in One Day!   Go to Asakusa first thing in the morning! You can visit Senso-ji temple which is located near Asakusa-jinja shrine.   Then you can take the Ginza subway line which will take you straight to Shibuya, across town from Asakusa. You will have to make the ride for about 30 minutes, so it is better if you grab a seat and relax with a book.   You can then take the Hachiko exit after you arrive in Shibuya and walk to the Shibuya crossing. It is one of the coolest shopping districts, now you know where I am taking you? There are a lot of huge department stores offering beautiful products.   You can eat something, a snack like Yakitori, Onigiri or Taiyaki the streets so that you are not hungry till afternoon! Most department stores have huge restaurant floors so you can easily have your lunch in Shibuya. It will be a bit rushed in the afternoon; peak time is 1:00 p.m. so try to avoid that time.   You can then visit the beautiful Meiji-jingu Shrine which is located west of Harajuku. You have to take the Yamanote line to get there. Furthermore, you can have your coffee at Omotesando to recharge for the rest of the day.    Let’s not forget the amazing views you will get from the observation deck of the Mori Tower. You must go to the 52nd floor of the tower to enjoy the beautiful Tokyo city view as the evening falls. There are many bars in the Roppongi district, where you can end your day with delicious meals and drinks.   Things to Do in Tokyo!   If you have more time, these are the following things that you must do if you are visiting Tokyo. The first thing that I will suggest to you is to visit a few spots popular for their cherry blossoms, mind-bogglingly beautiful.  The places are perfect for some alone time especially if you are avoiding the blossom season. Another thing that I feel that you should not miss is the Samurai Restaurant Time show. It shows the cultural side of Tokyo especially with the fun and glitz that the cabaret show brings with it.  You can get yourself tickets online from Samurai Restaurant Time to enjoy the extravagant show, memorable for a lifetime.   Mount Fuji is another wonder you must not miss if you visit Tokyo! If you are planning to visit Mount Fuji, try to do so in the daytime! There are several places from where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Fuji.  You can also add visiting Lake Kawaguchiko because the view you see of Mt. Fuji from here will not be available anywhere. You can go fishing, hiking or cycling or read a book sitting under one of the trees enjoying the view. There are also several museums around the lake, you can go check them out.   Tips to Make Your Trip Memorable   Buy a Universal adapter because the plug sockets in Japan are different. Bring Charger and Charger cables because you need to charge your cell phone regularly. The same applies to your laptop and Kindle.   Try to carry your phone Bank especially if you have plans to take pictures on your phone. With our social media platforms becoming the journal of your life, posting pictures, videos, and reels is a must. Get a data-only Japanese SIM card because it is better than having the roaming services on the existing SIM.   Carry your medicines when visiting Japan but be a little careful when carrying them. Japan has some strict regulations on common drugs, psychotropics, opioids, and others. Having a travel first aid kit is a must when traveling to Japan.   Carry basic medications such as flu, cold, diarrhea, rashes, painkillers, and others, sanitary pads, tampons, gel and Razors. How can you forget deodorant or perfume when traveling? It is one of the most important toiletries apart from your moisturizer, sunscreen, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, and others!   You also cannot forget sunglasses, a warm jacket, scarves, and a hat! Carry cotton and linen clothing, athleisure, and sportswear. Try to avoid denim because it holds onto moisture! Carry lightweight, comfortable walking shoes. Remember that when planning a beach trip, we must carry essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, towels, water bottles, and others. Let me share with you eight of the coolest beaches in Australia, more specifically in Melbourne! You will not only enjoy it but make memories for a lifetime. 8 Beaches Of Melbourne, Australia, Where You Can Cool Off! Several Melbourne beaches are renowned for their beautiful visuals and numerous opportunities. I will list eight beaches where you can cool off and relax on your holiday. You will love the article if you love surfing, swimming, fishing, and other activities. There are several things to do in Australia, and I will help you decide on them! You can stay with your family or partner in residential areas on their sun-splashed streets and sandy beaches. On the foreshore of the beach, there is a line of eighty-two little brightly colored charming bathing boxes! You will fall in love with these multicolored boxes, which also ensure the beauty of the beach. The wave on this beach is quite decent, and there are several places for fishing. You can also not miss the restaurants, cafes, and galleries that are just a walk away from the beach. Even the market near the beach is quite popular! Gunnamatta On this beach, Gunnamatta, you can experience the full force of the Southern Ocean; hence, the ocean is harsh. However, with experienced surfers, this place can be a slice of heaven! You can also visit the Mornington Peninsula National Park near the beach. The beach is clearly dramatic, but thrill seekers will love the gigantic waves! Some food joints allow you to take consistent breaks based on your preferences. Dromana Beach With its clear turquoise waters, Dromana Beach is a perfect fit for places in Australia that will take your breath away. The best time to visit Australia is mostly during the summer months, and the swimming conditions at the beach are perfect here! You can go to different barbeque spots across the foreshore to hang out with your friends or partner. There is also a small fishing pier where you can perform a lot of fun activities! Williamstown Beach For the locals there, you must ask where" Willy Beach" is. This beach is just a few steps from the city. A popular beach, it provides some of the most spectacular views of the water and the horizon. From sailors and sunbakers to swimmers, this beach is a spot for many. If you are traveling from the train station, the closest beach to this is Gem Pier. This station offers some of the coolest unobscured views of the skyline. It is spectacular during the night, with teeming lights across Williamstown city! If you plan to visit during New Year's Eve, you can check out the beautiful fireworks across the town! Traveling from Sydney to this beach will take about 17 km (about 10.56 mi) by car. Mordialloc Beach The beach is not just a combination of water and sand but also a beautiful southeast suburb that offers resources and beauty. Sunny Boy Beach Club, a restaurant, is a combination picnic area, BBQ, and playground! A bike path runs directly to the restaurant from the beach. Long-haul flights are dreadful. The stark, urbane terminals and the long nights of tiresome, cram-y seating sure work you up just thinking about it. The flights that roll over to the next morning always have some drama up their sleeves. Then came the rescue team from Taiwan- EVA Air, which is currently one of the 10 Skytrax 5-star airlines in the world. Would you believe it if I told you it was little known even up until a few years back? It was founded in 1989. However, I started hearing about this flight in the early 1990s when my extended family would talk about this new carrier with non-stop flights on B747-400 jets. Back then, it sounded like a story from another realm. I would hear them talk about the aroma of delicious noodles when woken up from sleep by a flight attendant as a late-night snack. I also heard of the very non-conforming Sanrio aircraft that were Hello Kitty Jets, decked out completely from the headrests to the meal cutlery. Everything featured the widely adored character. I finally had the chance to board it. Despite all the different things that this airline was revolutionizing, the most exciting part as a young traveler still remained the all-new cabin category between the economy and the EVA Air business class. This change was surprisingly affordable, and I was willing to upgrade for my 14+ hour flight home. Here I am going to share my experience of flying from New York to Taipei. The Beginning Of EVA Air Premium Economy Image Source: www.evaair.com The press releases from the airline say that AVA Air’s first trans-Pacific debut took place on December 12, 1992. It had four cabins, which was a first at that time. The four cabins included Super First, Super Deluxe, Economy Deluxe, and Economy. With Economy Deluxe, the airline became the first to introduce an improved economy cabin that is the Economy Deluxe. It became a benchmark for the airline as most others took two to three decades to introduce this cabin to their list of offerings. Recently (last summer), KLM debuted its premium economy. The seat prices are reasonable with business class-like perks. My Taipei experience was very endearing to me because of its convenient pair-up of high quality and affordability. The street food, the stationery, and the convenience stores all added to my love for Taipei. The EVA Air flight was a big cherry on top because all of that now comes in an aircraft. A New Version 30 Years Later Image Source: www.evaair.com Three decades since its first flight, I booked the Premium Economy class for my way back to Taipei from NYC. The perks of this flight began even before I boarded it. This airline offers free shuttles from 2 Pennsylvania and 5 New Jersey locations toward JFK Airport. Dallas to Houston Airport also offers a free shuttle service. It has successfully removed one of the biggest issues of international travel, which is simply getting to the airport. I took a $20 Uber to the Jersey City stop, which would have otherwise been a $130 Uber ride all the way to the airport. Being a part of the Star Alliance, I was granted access to the lounge with my United Gold status. It allowed me to upgrade my boarding from Zone 4 to Zone 1. As soon as I got into the cabin, it felt luxurious. They used sweet endearments with my name in Mandarin. They helped me settle in my seat and confirmed my meal selection, which I had previously made online. The seats had a 2-4-2 arrangement, and I had managed to secure a front-row seat, which meant no under-seat coverage but plenty of leg space. On my seat, there were slippers, a water bottle, noise-canceling headphones, and a cozy blanket that felt like a cloud. The blanket was quilted on one surface and had faux fur on the opposite side. How It Went An attendant soon came and gave me an overnight bag. It was a Kipling amenity kit consisting of Hudson Made New York products. It had the brand’s trademark monkey keychain with a scene of Taiwan’s Yilan on the bag. My entire EVA Air flight felt like a warm, pamper session with juice, fruits, and snacks while suspended at 30,000 feet mid air. The breakfast was amazing, with Chinese-style scallop congee with egg & Chinese sausage. There was an option for another Western version that comprised smoked turkey accompanied by cheddar cheese. There was also a “leisure delight” meal in between the meals with BBQ chicken-filled brioche roll. The restrooms were clean, and I can say so because I went three times, and it was clean each time. To clarify, I took a private plane recently that got filthy by the last hour of the flight, which was one-third the duration of the EVA Air. When I took the return journey, I wanted to take things further, getting myself the business class name Royal Laurel. It featured 6.5-foot-long lie-flat seats, a retractable armrest, a cocktail table, and a shoe cabinet. This cabin had a 1-2-1 configuration with dated seats compared to other airlines. EVA Air raised the bar, however, with their Rimowa & Salvatore Ferragamo branded care kit and a complementary Jason Wu pajama set. All the passengers ended up wearing it, and I, too, could not resist it. I wore it all the way home. The plaid duvet was so snug and comfy I asked where I could buy one. At one point, I fell asleep and dreamt of those noodles. But it was not my dream… they did bring noodles in between our slumber, and it just completed the experience all around.
