The charm of Edinburgh grows on you. I know that I am not the only one who felt like moving to the Scottish Capital after the first visit.   So, even though Edinburgh happened to me many moons ago, I can vividly remember its moody weather and the beautiful architecture. More than anything, the cityscape stays with me.   Also, if you are a “bucket-list” kind of traveler, the city harbors endless attractions. And this guide here is about the things to do in Edinburgh.   What Are The Things To Do In Edinburgh?   From visiting the beautiful Dean Village to exploring the majestic Edinburgh Castle, you cannot match the experience of the Scottish capital with anywhere else.   These are my favorite things to do in Edinburgh.  1. Visiting The Dean Village   Dean Village reminded me of the village of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I took a short walk from Stockbridge to reach Dean Village.   Furthermore, I just grabbed my coffee and roamed aimlessly. This is how you discover the best wonders and keep your plan spontaneous.   2. Strolling Down The Circus Lane   I discovered the Circus Lane while strolling along the Dean Village and beyond. The Circus Lane is just five minutes away from Dean Village.   Every minute in the street is Instagrammable.  3. Living The Dark Academia Moment At New College  The dark academia fan in me was very happy visiting the New College. I stepped into the courtyard and saw a ballroom scene becoming alive before my eyes.   4. Exploring The Edinburgh Castle  On top of Castle Rock, the castle is the crown jewel in the history of Edinburgh. Also, from the castle, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings.  5. Wandering Along The Royal Mile   The Royal Mile is also one of the historical palaces to see in Edinburgh. It is a thoroughfare, and it is a link between the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle.   You will find many eateries, shops, and landmarks here.   6. Hiking To The Top Of Arthur’s Seat  This is a hike to reach the top of an ancient volcano. The hike is rewarding, and after reaching the top, I loved the vistas of the entire city.   It’s a must if you are in Edinburgh.  7. Enjoying The View Of The Edinburgh Castle From Vennel Viewpoint  You can enjoy a different perspective of the Edinburgh Castle from the Vennel Viewpoint. The surroundings are beautiful in all seasons.   However, it is something different in autumn.   8. Exploring The Harry Potter Shops On Victoria Street   Now, everyone knows that Victoria Street is the inspiration behind the famous Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.   No wonder that the street today has many Harry Potter-themed shops. So, it was a mix of walking down the historical moments and a Potterhead moment.   9. Living The Willy Wonka Moment At The Chocolatarium  The Chocolatarium, close to the Royal Mile, offers a 90-minute guided tour called The Tour of Chocolate.   You will get to taste more than 40 flavors of chocolates here, and you can make your own chocolate bar and take it home.   Furthermore, during the weekends, The Chocolatarium also offers Chocolate and Wine and Chocolate and Whiskey pairings.   10. Enjoying Views From The Top Of Camera Obscura  Camera Obscura has various exhibits and displays. However, to find Camera Obscura, you will have to reach the top of the building.   This old telescope from 1835 is the oldest CCTV in the city. Through this, you can enjoy a view of the city down to the waterfront as it was back then.  11. Visiting The Grave Of Tom Riddle At Greyfriars Kirkyard  Near the Royal Mile, Greyfriars Kirkyard is an iconic place to visit in Edinburgh. Here, you will find the graveyard of McGonagall and Tom Riddle.   12. Taking A Stroll Up To Calton Hill  Calton Hill is home to various iconic moments of Edinburgh. Furthermore, I loved it more for its sunrise and sunset views.   13. Visiting The Museums Of Edinburgh   Edinburgh has some of the most prominent and comprehensive museums in the United Kingdom.   These are the museums you can explore in Edinburgh.   National Museum Of Scotland   You will get to know about Scottish history, technology, science, world cultures, and the natural world at the National Museum of Scotland.   The important exhibits here are Dolly the Sheep, which was the first cloned mammal, the Lewis Chessmen, and the dramatic architecture of the Grand Gallery.   You need at least 3 hours to explore this museum.   The Museum Of Edinburgh  It is home to the National Covenant, one of the most important documents in the history of Scotland.   Furthermore, you will find many historic artifacts related to the city in the museum.   Writers’ Museum  This is again a dream spot for dark academia fans. The unique setup and museum celebrate the likes of Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Walter Scott, and Robert Burns.   Along with rare books, you will also find personal objects used by the prominent literary figures and paintings.   Moreover, the museum offers free entry.   Scottish National Portrait Gallery  Visiting the iconic Scottish National Portrait Gallery is one of the best free things to do in Edinburgh.   Here, you will enjoy a journey through the history of Edinburgh with the photographs, sculptures, paintings, and movies.  Surgeons’ Hall Museums  It is one of the most prominent and fast surgical museums in the world. Here, you will get to know about the evolution of surgery and medicine.   You will also come across the surgical instruments from the 19th century and many preserved specimens. 14. Buying Secondhand Books At Armchair Books  It is a paradise for book lovers. You will get books from the 1800s and different centuries at this shop.   So, you don’t just buy books from here; you carry a little moment of history home.   15. Despite being a celebrated place, the food here is quite reasonable. It’s around £30 for two people.   We chose The Pantry as your brunch stop. It is close to the Circus Lane and Dean Village. I loved the coffee there.   Moreover, at the end of Princes Street, Taco Libre is a casual place to appease your sudden hunger pangs. The tacos are great, but try the Margaritas once!   Where To Stay In Edinburgh?   The House of Gods and the Royal Mile at The Witchery are some of the most interesting places to stay in Edinburgh.   The House of Gods offers a wild experience. On the other hand, the Royal Mile at The Witchery has the quintessential Gothic romance vibe. In the heart of the historic town of Edinburgh, the experience here feels out of this world.   What Is The Best Time To Visit Edinburgh?   Autumn is the best time to visit Edinburgh. Nepal, a land of majestic peaks and fresh natural air is a dream destination for Trekkers around the World. Nepal holds the world's most prominent mountains and provides lasting trekkers with refreshing journeys through forests, tri-level fields, and snow-covered paths across its varied natural landscapes.  Nepal's many short trek routes like EBC, ABC, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Upper Mustang Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek, let's all adventurous explore nature and culture in no amount of days. These five enjoyable Nepal treks below provide an excellent hiking experience over  just the time of two weeks.  1. Everest Base Camp Trek No journey can compare to the allure of Everest Base Camp Trek, one of Earth's most attractive hiking trails. As you travel up on this famous Moderate to Challenging difficulty level trail towards the heart of Khumbu, each step brings you closer to the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest. After landing in Lukla, travelers penetrate the Sherpa towns and dense rhododendron forests prior to crossing high altitude, glacier areas. As we move forward, Hikers reach Namche Bazaar, a lively mountain settlement with its delightful sights of prayer flags and teasing Everest views alongside Lhotse and Ama Dablam.  After this segment, the trail goes to Tengboche Monastery which preserves an old Buddhist heritage offering amazing views of Himalayan peaks. The trek routes of the eight highest peaks in the World, Mount Manaslu (8163 meters) guides travelers through glacier rivers and scenic high-altitude passes. Unlike Everest and Annapurna, The Manaslu trail stands apart for it’s uncrowded and peaceful nature providing hikers perfect space for immersion in Nepal's unspoiled nature. The most hard but fulfilling part is Passing through Larkya La La (5,106 meters) that requires physical fitness and endurance which results in incredible mountain views of Manaslu, Hiking Himal and neighboring peaks.  Trekkers find supreme enjoyment on the challenging Manaslu Circuit Trek. You need 14 days to complete this adventure and the advisable time period which offers optimal conditions would be from March to May and September to November. 4. Upper Mustang Trek This moderately difficult Upper Mustang Trek leads adventurers to Nepal's hidden land where trekkers encounter a stark contrast to Nepal's typical lush hillside regions. Also known as the “Last Forbidden Kingdom”, Mustang exists below the Annapurna range rain shadow, creating a beautiful desert-like landscape with deep canyons, eroded cliffs, and ancient caves. Annapurna Base Camp Trek When seeking a quick but dazzling hiking adventure, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek represents an excellent choice.  In 14 days this trek brings trekkers deep into Annapurna Sanctuary, where a glacial amphitheater hosts Annapurna's peaks, including its main summit and four surrounding giants, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli. The Annapurna region's lower slopes start with trails that run through cultivated fields, passing bamboo patches and traditional Gurung communities. Before the final ascent to the Annapurna Base Camp, hikers often stop to visit the Jhinu Danda for its natural hot springs.  This Moderate difficulty trek is indeed a little tough, but the 360-panorama view you'll get from here, that makes it all worth it.  The road to Annapurna Base Camp frequently links to Poon Hill, where trekkers enjoy the sunrise views above Annapurna andDhaulagiri ranges. Are you a traveler at heart? Do you miss meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, trying new food, or having new experiences after being in one place for too long? Of course, many people feel most at home at home, but what if traveling feels like home for you too? What if the feeling you get while traveling blends nostalgia and melancholy? I have been curious about people, cultures, and places since childhood. Yet, over the last four to five years, I've had the time and financial independence to travel. For me, it is important to experience different cultures and how people live in other parts of the world. I mean countries beyond my own and places in my own country that I need to explore. We are all shaped by different elements around us, whether natural or cultural. That is why some people love mountains while others are drawn to the sea! Others look forward to exploring dense forests and trees! These elements add layers to our personalities and push us to understand ourselves better over our lifetime. Another important thing to remember is that it is not just about traveling, but also about doing things that make you enjoy your life. So, let me share a holiday worth remembering with a four-day itinerary for Queensland, Australia. You will also learn a lot about what to do in Australia. This is what creating a perfectly planned holiday! What Are The Types Of Travelers! Many of you go on a trip to relax and enjoy the place, while for many of you, it is important to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a tourist destination. For example, I like both a bit. I prefer a place depending on its vibe, so just as Brisbane offers vibrant chaos, O’Reilly offers peace, calm, and the beauty of nature. It is all about how you feel at the end of the day! Every trip is different, and so are you. You have different expectations every time you plan a trip. You also consider who you are going with and how it brings your true personality to the forefront. I even created my survey based on traveler types because each person's preferences are different. So, I took a survey among a group of people, mostly my colleagues and some of my close friends, who I know love traveling or often travel. I created this survey to learn the significance of traveling for people and the patterns they create. I created a Google Form with ten multiple-choice questions because we know people need more time to give detailed answers. I will make observations and analyze the responses of 20 individuals. Of course, I added my personal experiences and perspectives because I am an avid traveler, too! So, let's get into the survey: how I formed the questions and what responses I received. Observations So, my first question was to find out why most of them travel. The common reason why most of them travel is that they “need a break from routine life”! Most people feel the urge to travel because they are exhausted from their daily routine. About 30% of people said they travel because they “love exploring new places”! 10% travel to experience diverse human interaction. I also offered another option, “professional requirements,” and none of them chose it. My second question was how they decide on a travel destination. 55% of respondents said they visit places that have been on their bucket list for a long time. 30%, however, said they are mostly impulsive when planning a destination. 15% of responses leaned towards places to vacation that someone suggested. So, it is all about places you already have thought of! Then they answered what they love most about traveling! 65% of individuals believed that they wanted to explore new places. 15% of responses focused on experiencing a new culture, 15% said they traveled to meet new people, and 5% said they liked the food when traveling! Evaluating the responses and exploring new places might suggest that most people have a wanderer within them. Analysis: Travelers And Their Preferences I asked them what they did not like about traveling, and 20% said they did not like packing luggage. 30% said they did not like the unexpected expenses they faced while traveling. Whereas 10% said they did not like spending too much time planning the travel itinerary. While most of the responses, 40% of individuals believed that they liked everything about traveling! Do you realize that this is a way for people to express how traveling rejuvenates them? When I asked the next question about where they preferred to travel, about 60% said they loved mountains. 35% were okay with anything, be it the beach, mountains, or forests, and 15% wanted to travel to beaches. There are mainly four types of trips: activities, adventure, romantic, and leisure. 45% of my respondents said they prefer adventure, while 20% travel and plan activities within it. Also, 30% of individuals prefer leisure when they travel, while 5% want to go on a romantic trip! So, most people are attracted to adventure. 40% of individuals think traveling adds satisfaction and contentment to our lives. 35% of respondents said traveling is about learning about places, cultures, and people. 25% of people think they gain diverse experiences from traveling. When asked what kind of company they want when traveling, 40% said they want their partner. 25% want to hang out with their friends, 20% want to travel with their family, and 20% want to travel solo. Finally, 40% of individuals see travel as relaxation and satisfaction. 30% think traveling is about going on an adventure and becoming a true wanderer at heart, while 30% want to make new memories. My Plan Of Exploring Queensland I am going to share the glamour of the Gold Coast with you! The southern end of Queensland has beautiful natural wonders and hidden gems. To do that, you'll need to hit the road and experience some of the best places, coolest eateries, marvelous spots, and diverse cultures. Let me create a vision for you, especially with loads of sand and sun! When exploring Queensland, Indigenous experiences are important, especially when nature plays such a big role. You cannot miss the beaches in Australia! Noosa Beach is one of them! If you don't have a car, you can catch the Travel train from Brisbane and Gympie to reach Nambour or Cooroy. Once you reach Nambour or Cooroy, you can hop on Sunbus, which will take you to Noosa! Please visit translink.com.au to find rail and bus timetables. However, if you are planning a beautifully romantic road trip or an adventurous holiday, you can choose a 4WD vehicle. Now, head to Noosa North Shore to start your trip! Are you hungry already? Check out Bistro C for a hot cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast. When you reach Tewantin, you will get a vehicle ferry to cross the Noosa River. So you'll need to eat beforehand, because there are no food options for the next 100 km (about 62.14 mi)! You can take the third beach access road from there, which means you have officially started your vacation. Cheers mate! A Stunning Drive I am the kind of traveler who likes experiencing my surroundings as I go. So I will tell you about the multiple pit stops in the sandy biosphere. It is completely up to you where you stop! The first place you can stop is Teewah, a picnic spot under the vibrant hues and shadows of the sand cliffs! Once you are done, keep going north via Leisha Track! Double Island Point is in Great Sandy National Park and offers captivating views of the beach stretching out to sea. You can access this point via Cooloola Beach, between Noosa and Rainbow! If you are with your partner, why don’t you go up the Double Island Point lighthouse? It is a romantic place that offers enthralling views of nature. You can also launch a canoe at Double Island Point from the northern beaches! After you reach Rainbow Beach, you will see a picturesque seaside town surrounded by towering sand cliffs. The beauty that meets your eyes is ethereal, as the sand cliffs show more than 70 different colors. Hog on that Lunch! If you love the intense flavor, you must go to Arcobaleno on the Beach! With a beautiful ambiance, this place does it right when it comes to pizza and pasta! You can get the best wood-fired pizzas, along with zonzelle for dessert. You must try the Bruschetta, as it is a favorite tourist spot! If you love the beach and seafood, this place packs a punch with capers and anchovies, plus a splash of prawn/salmon/cuttlefish chunks.  If you're vegan, I have the perfect place for you: The Deck @ Sea Salt! The atmosphere is great, with its open, planned area letting in the sea breeze! They have a good range of vegan options, including salads, sides, lasagna, vegan cheese mezze platters, and burgers. Do not miss the vegan enchiladas! Accommodation You should book the Plantation Resort in Rainbow Beach! This beautiful luxury resort is perfect for that beach-facing view from your bedroom, and hearing the ocean at night is so peaceful. Imagine seeing whales from the balcony of the top-floor rooms. Yes, it happens! You should book the penthouse, a three-bedroom sea-view apartment! You can also access the pool, which is heated in winter, so you won’t have a problem. Comfy lounge chairs on the balcony give you clear views of the parks and the ocean while you enjoy your morning coffee or an evening drink! The well-equipped kitchen has plenty of pots and pans. So you can cook for yourself and your family if you want! The beds are comfy, and the rooms are quite spacious. The location is perfect, and you can walk around the dunes! Several surf clubs, restaurants, and shops are nearby. Day 2: Surfer’s Paradise at the Burleigh Beach If you don't have a car, this can take almost half your day, as you'll need to catch a bus from Rainbow Beach, QLD, Australia. It will take 4 hours and 50 minutes to reach Brisbane Roma Street. You can leave early at 7:40 and arrive around 12:30. You can have lunch in The Garden Room, an aesthetic railway pavilion-style cafe. Considering you only have a little time. You should know some of the best dishes to try. You can order Vietnamese rice noodle salad or harissa-spiced pulled lamb pita! There are several other dishes, such as: Buttermilk fried chicken bun Cheeseburger Poached chicken Caesar salad Pan-roasted Atlantic salmon Young Henry’s beer-battered reef fish with chips and minted pea puree This is one of the best places to visit among the restaurants in Australia after all! After lunch, catch the bus to Burleigh Heads, which takes about one hour and forty minutes. You have about 15 minutes to transfer. Then catch another bus from Burleigh Heads to Stockland Burleigh Heads, which takes about 5 minutes. You reach Burleigh by 3 p.m., so you can enjoy the beautiful Burleigh beach, where you can check out some of the highest tides! If you are an experienced surfer, you must try the tides here. Several surfing schools also offer lessons if you are inexperienced. A Day Among The Wildlife From Burleigh If you are traveling by car, it will take about three hours and thirty-three minutes! You can also have breakfast at Social Brew, which offers quality coffee and creative brunch options. Then, you must visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, a zoological garden and heritage site. Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the activity lasts 4 hours. This beautiful wildlife sanctuary has an impressive collection of 1400 animal species. You can feed wild lorikeets, plus enjoy Aboriginal performances and free-flight bird shows. Explore woodlands and rainforests to see Tasmanian devils, dingos, nocturnal animals, and saltwater crocodiles. You can pet a kangaroo, cuddle a koala, and meet interactive keepers! Next to Coolangatta is Snapper Rocks, where you can attend several international surfing events. What’s For Food? According to tourist recommendations, you must have lunch at the Rainbow Bay Surf Club, close to the beach. After you eat, you can order a beer to relax. They have a delicious beer on tap called Tapper! The place offers you some of the coolest views! Rick Shores is an aesthetically beautiful restaurant with a surf break right in front of the dining room. Try to come when it is still light so that you can enjoy the view from the terrace and bar. After the hike, you can explore Lamington National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can also drive through Australia's rainforests for a beautiful afternoon. You must visit O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards, where you can taste-test and spend your leisure time. Furthermore, if you are with your partner, you can organize a picnic in the vines. Even more romantic and fun is the friendly local population of alpacas roaming around, creating a perfect date scene for you. Check in first to drop off your luggage, then plan the rest of the day. You may also want to change into something more comfortable if you plan to go out and explore. The room has golden fittings and a mini bar. It looks so beautiful you'll want to take a mirror selfie in front of it. Now it is time to explore the most exciting city in Australia, with a diverse vibe that's both trendy and laid-back. I can assure you you will not feel overwhelmed, but the experience is unforgettable because there is always something to do! A Walk Down The Streets Several little laneways and streets are lined with beautiful art and sculptures. You can experience art in Brisbane through the Gallery of Modern Art and other fascinating museums! You can also enjoy local dishes at places like Lamberts Restaurant and Rogue Bistro. For fine dining, try Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill and 1889 Enoteca. For budget-friendly bites, visit Rogue Bistro and Spice Central Kitchen and Bar. There, you will find grazing land of about three million hectares owned by the Brook family. They run the Birdsville Races, which pioneered OBE Beef.
