Historic Beach In Santa Marta Santa Marta is recognized as the oldest city in Colombia. It has almost five hundred years of history, founded in the early sixteenth century. The streets reflect its history, even after many years of looting by pirates. It’s surrounded by natural ecosystems, being the entrance to large parks such as the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and Tayrona National Natural Park.
