So, for the rest of the year, you can enjoy a drive through the park without reservation.  In a social media post, Yosemite National Park authority has mentioned “ending the 2024 reservation season after this weekend (October 13)."  With no stress about getting a reservation, Yosemite National Park will surely be the destination for trekkers and wildlife lovers. However, before you plan a trip to the park, you must have a detailed idea of what to do there.  Best Things To Do At Yosemite National Park Yosemite National Park allows you to explore many activities, from camping to hiking. Therefore, setting the itinerary right can be a little taxing, with many options available.  So, here, I will discuss the outdoor pursuits in the park, with special emphasis on hiking, wildlife exploration, and stargazing.  Yosemite National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 1984.  Hiking In Yosemite National Park This park has more than 750 miles of hiking trails. Fragmentation of habitat, air pollution, and the invasion of non-native species are the primary reasons behind this process of eradication.  Stargazing In Yosemite National Park  The minimal light pollution and extensive wilderness make Yosemite National Park a great space for stargazing. Further, from July to October, this park is a great space to observe the Milky Way.  In addition, there are multiple hotspots in the park for stargazing. As they notice the first star coming out, they turn on their headlamps.  Moonbows April to June is the waterfall season in the park. On full moon nights in that season, the moonlight creates a rainbow in the mist of Yosemite Falls.  Even if your eyes cannot catch the colors, your camera surely will.  Birdwatching In Yosemite National Park  This national park is a favorite of birders, considering the presence of 262 species. Among them, 165 are habitat and migratory species, while the remaining one are transient species.  Further, the elevation of the park ranges between 2000 to 13000 feet. So, you will notice massive changes in the behaviors and features of the birds found here.  Yosemite Conservancy birdwatching outing and Christmas Bird Count are some of the programs that you can join if you want to locate the local, migratory, and transient ones.  Some common species of birds found here are the Great gray owl, American dipper, spotted owl, and Western tanagers.  A park-wide census of willow flycatchers has been conducted in the park. Then, you will need a California fishing license to fish in the park. Further, you must abide by the California and Yosemite Park regulations about fishing.  Nevertheless, the best places for fishing in the park are: Merced River South Fork Merced River  Frog Creek Adair Lake Hanging Basket Lake Sacramento pikeminnow, California roach, and riffle sculpin are some native fish species in the national park. The pace inside the museums feels like it has slowed down as you get to learn so much about the exhibits.  Informative and interesting museum exhibits ensure that all the artifacts are preserved. You can find literary manuscripts, objects, photographs, and rare books in these museums, which are several years old. This is why it is important to visit museums to learn about history and acquire inspiration from it!  The Best Museums in Austin for Every Interest and Age Group!  What museums are open in Austin? So, what's the largest museum in Austin? On Thursday and Friday, visits are from 11 am to 4 pm.  The Contemporary Austin  - Laguna Gloria It was an estate that has now been turned into a museum venue and an outdoor garden. You will be tremendously happy and attracted once you visit this museum, as the beautiful sculptures are in the park.  These outdoor sculptures are perfect for exploring and enjoying the Colorado River's view. This museum is open from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm, while on Fridays and Saturdays, it is open from 10 am to 5 pm.  On Sundays, the museum is open from Noon to 5 pm. The museum displays state of the art high tech encapsulating the history of cricket. Cricket is then promoted to be a sporting and cultural force across the Bowral community.   Bowral Lookout   There are several surrounding gardens of the town so, if you go for a panoramic view, this is it for you. You will be able to check out the beautiful skyline which is reflected in the Southern Highlands’ scenery.   You can set picnic tables at the Bowral lookout, where you have to take a short drive uphill. It is a scenic spot with beautiful views around you. There are a lot of parking spaces so you will not have a problem, or you must walk above.   Another lookout that you must visit if you are at this lookout is Jelore lookout. It was then lavishly re-designed by James Fairfax in the 1960s. The place is of great heritage importance as it reflects a beautiful collection of art.   It is a manor, with history attached to it. There is artistic expression along with sculpted grounds creating a perfect place for you to visit the historical place and appreciate it. With an elegant Victorian Italianate homestead, Redford Park Bowral is perfect for your visit.   Mary Poppins Statue   I am sure you know who Mary Poppins is and would love to visit the unique landmark which is in Bowral. But why is there a statue of her in Bowral? The author Pamela L. Travers, whose real name is Helen Lyndon Goff spent some time in Bowral during her childhood.   It was to commemorate the author who is the creator of Mary Poppins, the statue has been created. Additionally, it was during the sesquicentenary of Bowral that the statue was unveiled in 2013. It was all about commemorating a century of the author’s spending time in town.   Dirty Janes Bowral   If you want to go shopping in the Southern Highlands, this is the perfect place for you. The vintage shoppers will have a playdate here, in the heart of the town as there are 85 unique vintage sellers offering their art.   In the form of unique antique homewares, furniture, architectural elements such as quality and vintage objects both inside and for the garden, you can shop your heart out. The decor will rise a level higher with the inspiration from Jane Austen’s era and art.   Visit the emporium which displays antiques along with various collectibles. There are always fresh stocks as the seller updates them personally every day.
