Travel Blog

Have you ever traveled to Aruba? What do you think about Aruba Airlines, the sole Airline working in the country? I was hoping you could read the article to learn about my experience with the Airline and highlight the benefits and the shortcomings.

Mr. Onno J. Swart founded the Flag Carrier. In 2010, charter operations were launched by the Airline by using the seven-seat Piper PA-31 Navajo. Further, in 2012, the Airline acquired exposure leading to an upgrade of its jet aircraft operations.

They operated with two Airbus A320 twin-engined with a capacity of 150 seats. They started covering places such as Venezuela, Panama, Santo Domingo, and Curacao; however, the last two destinations were later suspended.

Along the journey of Aruba Airlines, you can observe that the carrier started pretty well; however, later, the company faced issues with operations and maintenance.

This Is What I Felt About Aruba Airlines!

About Aruba Airlines

Aruba Airlines is a flag carrier founded in 2006 and acts as the sole Airline in Aruba. When it was first launched, it provided services such as charter and scheduled air transport to almost 13 destinations worldwide.

When I boarded one such flight, Bombardier CRJ200, which was leased from Voyageur Airways, I realized that it was spacious and comfortable; hence, there were fewer issues with the seating arrangement. Yet, I have needed help with operations and services.

I will be sharing my experience regarding the benefits and the shortcomings of the Airline. I will explain why I feel about Aruba Airlines the way I do and how the future will pan out!

Benefits Of Flying In Aruba Airlines

According to the official website of the Airline, www.arubaairlines.com, the flights will be suspended from 6 August due to the sanitary measures taken by the Curacao government. There are diverse features that are efficient for their customers.

Great Deals

There are significant deals and offers when customers book their flights. You can exceed different services such as charter, seasonal, and hub, based on which you can access the flights run by Aruba Airlines.

Expert Guidance

You get information regarding the flights’ countries, cities, and airports from which the flights operate. The fleet size of the Airline includes 2 aircraft, where currently only 1 is functioning for Sunair.

Price Match

The prices of the tickets are all mentioned on the official websites, and so are the additional fees. On the website, it is very clear that many of the flights are not functioning, including Bombardier CRJ200.

Easy Cancellation

Due to the self-service options, you can easily cancel the flights based on your convenience and requirements. The services that are informed online are mostly easy to deal with. For one, I didn’t face any issues while booking the tickets.

Disadvantages Of Flying In Aruba Airlines

Significant complaints against Aruba Airlines regarding their services and customer support have occurred. They do not have well-maintained schedules for the flights leading to serious flight delays.

Half of the time, the staff must learn what is happening, which has been quite frustrating for passengers.

No Coordination Between Staff

The staff needs to be more coordinated, and they need to inform the passengers regarding delayed flights or canceled flights.

Food And Beverages

The quality of drinks and food could be better, and apart from that, the prices are not at all affordable.

Customer Service

Customer service or support could be more efficient. The issues with asking for customer service lead to further problems and confusion for passengers.

Reviews About Aruba Airlines

Reviews About Aruba Airlines

According to Tripadvisor, Aruba Airlines has been rated as 2.5 out of 5 based on 129 reviews. The Airline has been complimented about cleanliness and boarding, as some reviews are quite positive about how efficient the staff was regarding the boarding experience.

People are neutral regarding the value of money when booking Aruba Airlines! I am also on the line regarding the prices of the tickets; sometimes, they were expensive, while at times, they were affordable.

The Airline has also not been dedicated enough to its services. My flight was late, and I have found similarities in the experience of many other travelers who should have been notified before the change of time of the flight or their delays.

However, based on most of the reviews, the experience of many fliers has been negative, which justifies their dissatisfaction with the Airline. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the services have further deteriorated.

One such review by Angela Nijhuizen highlights the terrible customer service and support by Aruba Airlines in her comments.

My flight to Las piedras has been cancelled due to closing of Venezuela airspace. After 4 years of contact, begging, sending mail from 2019 march till march 2023 I decided to give up on them. If this airline is going to fly again. Please NEVER EVER fly with this crap. Bad…

Another negative review that further confirms the dissatisfaction of the travelers is made by Angel Garcia, who traveled in January 2022.

This airline who has sold tickets in cuba for thousands of dollars to either Managua, Nicaragua or Georgetown, Guyana , has suspended all flights from cuba and also has shut down their customer service number to any of those who wants to claim their money back , leaving…

A review that acts as a nail in the coffin for Aruba Airlines is done by STZ01, where the traveler was completely frustrated with the cancellation of their flight. I could relate to this frustration, especially because the same thing happened to both of us.

We were informed of the cancellation after we reached the airport. It confirms the need for more professionalism and the communication gap.

My flight was cancelled and I wa snotified when I reached the airport – no previous call/communication. I was promised a refund and six months later am still waiting for this to happen! My advise is to stay away from this airline by all means…

Another review compared the Airline to the plague as the traveler had one of the worst experiences. They also wanted more customer service from the airlines.

Aruba Airlines changed my Curacao to Aruba flight time substantially so I reached out to their Refund Department on February 8th to cancel the flight completely and obtain a full refund. I never heard back from them. I called their Customer Service line twice but was hung up on…

Conclusion

After reading this article, you will understand that there have been considerable service and customer support issues. In my flight experience, this was one of the most haphazard experiences that was completely coordinated, and most of it will be blamed on the company.

Apart from what I felt, I have also highlighted significant reviews by people who have booked tickets with Aruba Airlines. After you read them, you clearly understand why people are unsatisfied with the airline’s services.

Comment below about some of the features that must be present in the airline according to you!

The Overthinker’s Guide To Getting Ready For A Family Vacation

BY  Sibashree Sep 18, 2025

Why does prepping for a family vacation feel like bracing for a storm? One moment you're picturing peaceful views, the next you're buried in packing spreadsheets and panic over airport snacks.  For overthinkers, trip planning can feel more like a stress test than a getaway. With school calendars, rising travel costs, and lingering travel anxiety from recent years, even a simple trip starts to feel complicated.  Still, with screen fatigue on the rise and more families choosing road trips over flights, places like Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, are becoming top picks for affordable, family-friendly escapes.  In this blog, we will share practical tips, small insights, and brutally honest truths to help overthinkers prepare for a family vacation without losing their minds. The Ultimate Family Vacation Planning Guide For An Overthinker  Do you need to see all the attractions of a place you are traveling to? NO. Do you have to care about everyone’s travel styles and choices? YES, but not at the cost of ruining the trip and making it all about doing this and that! So, while you need proper planning, you also need to leave some room for spontaneity.  1. Build The Itinerary, Then Burn Half Of It There’s nothing wrong with having a schedule. It helps manage expectations. But no itinerary has ever survived contact with a toddler meltdown or unexpected road construction. Make peace with flexibility. If you're heading somewhere with a mix of outdoor and indoor activities, like the Smoky Mountains region, you’ll want options.  Maybe the kids want to explore a nature trail, but get bored five minutes in. Or the weather flips, and your plans for a waterfall hike turn into a game of “how fast can we Google indoor fun.” This is where having a Smoky Mountains attraction like TopJump Trampoline & Extreme Arena on your list makes all the difference.  Located near all the main action, it gives kids a chance to bounce, climb, and burn energy while you sit, breathe, and wonder why you packed so many granola bars. It’s one of those rare spots that keeps the whole crew happy without anyone whining, “I’m bored.” 2. Stop Trying To Pack For Every Possible Future You are not a psychic. You cannot predict if your child will suddenly become allergic to sunscreen in Utah or develop a deep emotional need for a specific stuffed dinosaur you didn’t bring. Accept it. The sooner you do, the easier packing becomes. Overthinkers love to prepare for worst-case scenarios. This is why your suitcase has three backup chargers, two first-aid kits, and six pairs of socks per person.  But there’s a difference between being prepared and being controlled by the fear of inconvenience. Ask yourself this: Is this an actual need, or just a fear-based “what if”? If it's the latter, skip it. Focus on the basics. Clothes for the climate. Toiletries. Important medications. A few snacks that won’t melt into sticky crime scenes in your car seats.  That’s it. Stores exist in other places. You don’t have to bring your entire medicine cabinet just to feel okay about leaving the house. 3. Plan For Togetherness, But Not Constantly This is a family vacation, not a hostage situation. You do not need to spend every single second together. In fact, you shouldn’t. Overthinking parents often want the trip to “make up” for lost time. We pile in together for every meal, every outing, every moment.  But this is a fast track to tension. Let kids pick one activity without adult input. Let one parent sleep in while the other takes the early risers to breakfast. Your vacation doesn’t become less meaningful just because you took 90 minutes apart. Sometimes, the best memories come from those unstructured moments, like your partner getting too competitive in mini golf. Or your teen discovering they actually don’t hate breakfast food. The magic is in the mess, not the perfect plan. 4. Let Go Of Social Media Expectations You know what doesn't help overthinking? Trying to make everything look “Instagram-worthy.” Planning your family vacation like it’s a content shoot for a lifestyle brand only adds pressure. Spoiler alert: real life doesn’t come with a filter. Your photos might include crooked smiles, messy hair, or a popsicle that dripped on someone’s shirt five seconds in. That’s fine. You’re not building a brand. You’re building memories. Social media is fun, but it shouldn’t be the measuring stick for how well your trip is going. Also, if you’re filming every moment, you’re not in the moment. Take a few pictures, then put the phone down. Let your brain take the pictures for once. 5. The Food Doesn’t Need To Be Perfect Unless you’re traveling with a chef, the meals will be... fine. You will probably eat one amazing dinner, one very average lunch, and one breakfast that everyone talks about for the wrong reasons. Stop aiming for gourmet. Aim for edible and easy. Grocery stores are your friend. So are diners who don’t mind crayons on the floor. Lowering your food standards might be the most freeing thing you do. If your kid only eats fries and bread for three days, they’ll live. If the restaurant takes too long and you end up microwaving mac and cheese at the hotel, that’s okay. Travel is about shared experience, not Michelin stars. Overthinking Is Just Caring In Disguise: So, It’s Okay During Family Vacation Planning Let’s be honest. The reason you overthink is that you care. You want this to be good. You want your kids to remember this trip fondly. Moreover, you want your partner to be relaxed, and for the family to feel connected. There’s nothing wrong with that. But the caring doesn’t need to translate into anxiety. Trust that you’ve done enough. The plan will adapt. That the memories will come, not because everything went “perfectly,” but because you were all there together, trying. So pack the extra underwear, sure. But also pack some grace. For your family. For the weather. And, for the unexpected. And most of all, for yourself. Family vacations aren’t about escaping your real life. They’re about making space for the parts of life that get squeezed out in the daily rush. Laughter. Quiet. Curiosity. That weird energy kids get when they sleep in unfamiliar beds. The chance to look around and think, this is different, and that’s good. And if it all goes sideways? If the weather turns, or the reservations get canceled, or someone barfs in the rental car? It’s still a story. One that your family will retell, probably at Thanksgiving, and probably with exaggerated sound effects. Overthinkers, take heart. You don’t need to control the vacation to enjoy it. Just show up, pack a sense of humor, and leave room for the unexpected. That’s where the real adventure is. BY  Barsha Apr 18, 2023

While there are multiple search engines for finding cheap flights - maybe you use a tool like Hopper or Skyscanner or depend on a travel agency online such as Expedia or Priceline. But there’s one option that’s always better than the rest - yep, we are talking about Google Flights. Yep, that’s right! Google is undoubtedly the best search engine in the world today - and it doesn’t fail to impress when it comes to finding cheap flights. It’s a crazy tool - and it comes with multiple features that will help you find the best prices. And not just that - thanks to its Price Guarantee feature, if the flight fares drop after the booking has already been made, you might get a refund. It also comes with a variety of filters that can be used for finding the best flights that you want in reality. And at the same time, avoid the flights you don’t want to check out. Additionally, you can definitely use this tool for searching different carriers and directly booking any airline as compared to other third-party websites. Today, we are here to help you find out how to use Google Flights - the tips and tricks you need to find the best deals online. But First, What Are Google Flights? Why will you waste time looking up ‘flights Google’ on Google when you can directly book flights on Google Flights itself? So, what are Google Flights? Google Flights can be defined as a type of metasearch engine that uses a global distribution system for tapping into the different flight inventories offered by all airlines in the entire world. You cannot define the same as an online travel agency or OTA like Orbitz or Priceline. How Do Google Flights Work? Before you book yourself a GG flight, let’s find out how this is work. This is basically a type of metasearch engine that uses different itineraries, seating orders, and flight schedules to display multiple flight prices on hundreds of tickets, inclusive of taxes. The metasearch engine uses different information on extra fees for avoiding baggage fees as well as basic economy. Once you determine the flight you need, you can directly book with your preferred airline or any travel agency online. Google Fights is basically a search, too, like Google itself - technically, you are not really booking flights via Google. Top Tips For Using Google Flights: Are you already busy typing ‘Google flights San Diego’ or some other location? Then stop! Because we have six top tips that will help you to use this - stay tuned to find out more! 1. Filter For Stops To Get The Flights You Want: Flying non-stop is an ideal situation. Google Flights, in fact, make it pretty easy to look for nonstop flights - there’s a filter dedicated to finding the best nonstop flights. At the same time, it is crucial to remember that one-stop flights can help you save on costs, especially if you are flying internationally. 2. Search For The Airlines You Want: Are you a diehard United fan? Or do you prefer flying on Delta? Google Flights can help you narrow down search results to certain airlines. 3. Search Multiple Cities To Find Better Deals: Google’s ability to search multiple destination cities and departure points is completely unparalleled. It is pretty useful when you are seeking international flights, and you are confused about whether you should fly straight to Venice or first stop at Rome. Other Things That You Can Do: Apart from the tips we have mentioned in detail above, scroll down and find out what else you can do while using this. Using Google Flights to explore, Using Price Alerts, and Watch your carbon footprint. What Is The Best Way To Book Cheapest Flights On Google Flights? During the holiday season, it is quite important to have the bookings of the flight at a lower rate so that you don’t spend all your money. It is also important to consider that there are certain tools that are appropriate in overall using the application! Insights On The Cheapest Time! While following Google Flights, you get to evaluate an average on the same route of travel! When booking flights, it is also important to learn about the lower prices on a regular basis so that you can select the specific days when the fares are at their lowest. The upgraded insights are being launched by Google Flights as they use reliable trend data based on the chosen destination and dates. Further, you can also curate your itinerary by following the insights. Price Tracking! If you turn on the price tracking, it will help you evaluate the lower fares of the flights along with the overall significance of the price drops. You will learn about the evaluation of the prices along with the way flexibility becomes an important part of this process. For example, if you have to attend an event after 6 months, it will help you a lot if you deal with the bookings by putting specific dates and tracking the prices. This will lead to you understanding the way the feature will help you to have a cheaper booking price. Price Guarantee! When you search for flights on Google Flights, you will find some colorful price guarantee badges. This is to ensure that the flights that are with that tag show prices that will not go lower. Hence, you can finalize on the booking of the flights.  With this tag, you can also monitor the prices of flights before takeoff! It will help in managing the differences on Google Pay. It is a pilot program hence, not available with all departing flights. Exploring Google Flights: Pros And Cons! Before you get all excited and Google flights to Las Vegas, it’s only practical to find out the pros and cons of this metasearch engine. Scroll down and find out the pros and cons of booking flights with the help of Google Flights. Pros Of Google Flights: Just for the simple reason that this is not really an OTA, it is anyway better than almost all other tools. So before you can look up ‘Google flights Las Vegas,’ let's check out the top advantages of using this search engine. You can pretty much always directly book with any airline of your choice. You might come across multiple options for booking with different other sites, but at the same time, cutting out in-between costs while booking flights is more crucial than ever. Dealing with any airline agent is always better than dealing with bad customer support from some small online travel agency. Google Flights will enable you to look for multiple airports simultaneously, thereby helping you to find the cheapest airport to fly to or depart from, for that matter. And isn’t that the key to saving money on flights, especially when you are flying internationally? None of the search engines will do a better job when it comes to showing months' worth of flights, especially when you are trying to land the cheapest airline deals. You will even get notified if shifting your travel dates by a day or two can save reduce your expenditure. Cons Of Google Flights: Having noted down all the pros of using this, you might already be typing ‘google flights Seattle’ or some other location, but wait! this is not entirely perfect. It is close to perfect, but there are certain drawbacks. These drawbacks are as follows, Since Google Flights depend mostly on featuring airfare from the different airlines directly, you can, at times, come across cheaper fares via OTAs that end up cutting deals with various carriers for listing highly discounted flights. Google is almost always updating the inventory of different available flights. Occasionally, we might stumble upon certain issues that arise from outdated pricing. This means you might come across a price that you like, only to click and find out that the price has gone up. While a majority of flights are available through Google Flights, only a handful don’t really list their fares or on other search engines, for that matter. And It’s A Wrap! Google Flights is one of the coolest apps that we can use if we have regular flight business! The tools available help in utilizing resources along with making it easier for us to spend the right amount of money! And that’s a wrap on the Google Flights.
