Union Square has many hotels, and you can take a cab from the airport to reach the place you will be staying.  However, don’t waste much of your time checking in or the formalities. Ideally, you should check in, grab a quick bite, keep your luggage in the hotel room, and get yourselves and the backpack ready for the city exploration.
