Review By Deborah Eddy:

Enjoy using the app. It’s easy to use, with lots of choices that are discounted off the airline and hotel websites. Love having one-stop shopping. Had an issue once where I couldn’t complete a booking correctly. It took a while to get someone on the phone to help. Don’t stop having a live person for ‘support’ issues.

Review By TMH:

Love this app! It is my go-to travel app. It’s easy to use, has great deals, dual-pay options, and easy cancellations. One time I accidentally booked the wrong date for a staycation with my daughters. The Travelocity rep not only canceled my booking without charge but the rep also worked with the hotel to give me an upgraded room that same night at the same price. Amazing!

Review By BM:

Horrible experience all around, with the service. Had to cancel my flight, and I purchased a cancellation policy. Sadly things happen, and plans change. Don’t need credit for a future flight, I need my funds back. I had to file a claim, where you have to attach files of everything, then proof of the reason why you cancel. I probably won’t get my money back.

Review By Jaleen Martin:

Absolutely love the app! Very self-explanatory and so simple to use. My first go-to app when planning a trip is Travelocity. The only thing I don’t care for is when you have to talk to customer service, you can’t find a single person who speaks clear English at all. So terribly hard to understand. I hope to see improvement on that part soon.

And It’s A Wrap!

And that’s a wrap on Travelocity. Now that you are aware of all the services you can get on this platform, you can go check out individual features, like this rental car services or accommodation options for your next vacation.

So, what are your thoughts on using OTAs or Online Travel Agencies for planning a vacation? Have you used this in the past – then feel free to share your experiences mentioned below in the comments.

BY  Abdul Aziz Nov 6, 2023

For regular travelers or digital nomads, a well-designed suitcase is crucial. It is probably the most crucial travel item. It is incumbent that you choose the ideal one to safely manage all of your travel necessities. Given how important it is, it is natural that travelers want to make a solid investment in their travel luggage that will last a long while. Despite this, it can be difficult to select the ideal bag. Today, we'll discuss the Monos luggage line of bags. Although Monos is a relatively new travel accessory company, its wide selection of bags is helping it thrive in the market. Is this emerging luggage brand any good? Can Monos be trusted in place of reliable names like Samsonite or Tumi? Before spending your money on the new Monos luggage, you need to learn everything about Monos and its products. Here is all you need to know and reviews from people who have used it. What Is Monos Luggage? The Vancouver-based company Monos travel luggage offers a range of travel-related products. Today, the primary focus will be on its specialty collection of high-end travel luggage and bags. Every Monos bag has a clean, fashionable design with lots of useful functions. The quality of the Monos luggage is what distinguishes it from its competition. In order to make its products last longer, Monos portrays itself as an ethical company by sourcing high-quality, sustainable materials. And if you care about protecting the environment (we should all strive to do our part!), this is a bonus. It's fantastic to know that Monos is a certified climate-conscious business with zero net carbon emissions. It provides eco-friendly and non-cruelty-based products. These both seem to be excellent selling points and are definitely things you should strive to look for when purchasing a purse. Is the cost of a Monos travel bag really worth it, despite these significant product accomplishments? Is Monos luggage worth it? Here is our take on it. Important Physical Characteristics Of Monos Luggage The minimalist and understated appearance of Monos baggage bags makes them ideal for all sorts of travel. They are available in a variety of neutral yet fashionable colors, as well as occasionally limited edition hues. This luggage’s robust surfaces are made of aerospace-grade polycarbonate, a substance renowned for its extraordinary toughness and stress resistance. They are conveniently portable thanks to their silent-running wheels and telescoping handles. Strong YKK zippers and TSA combination locks from Monos ensure that your possessions are secure. Monos has also done a good job of covering the safety issue. All Monos baggage includes a couple of shoe bags, an anti-microbial laundry bag, and a vegan leather luggage tag. Here is a quick overview of everything Monos has to offer: Different Sizes Minimal and Chic Designs Functional Features TSA-Approved Locks Monos has not left any stone unturned. In any case, Monos has been approved as a climate-neutral brand. You may feel good about purchasing things from this company, as I already indicated. A lifetime guarantee, a 100-day return policy, and free delivery to the United States and Canada are some of the additional benefits. We will now describe what Monos has to offer in terms of its featured luggage. Remember that the prices and availability are preliminary and subject to change. Visit the official website of Mono for the most recent information on prices, offers, features, and availability. Monos Luggage Review: Carry-On Collection The carry-on range features 4 models: a) Monos Carry-On - $272 b) Monos Carry-On Plus - $294 c) Monos Carry-On Pro - $300 d) Monos Carry-On Pro Plus - $321 The Carry-On models' interiors are exceptionally well-designed. The interior of Monos Luggage is lined with an antibacterial substance to keep the bag tidy and clean. You can organize your necessities with the help of the many pockets as well! Monos bags make sure you keep organized when traveling with a zipped panel on one side and a compression pad-held pocket on the other. Here are the details of each model of Monos' Carry-On collection: Carry-On Because it can fit in most overhead compartments, the carry-on is designed to be the most practical size of the bag. No matter your destination or airline, Monos' standard-size carry is the ideal cabin-sized travel companion. Its outside dimensions are 22" by 14" by 9”. User Review: "I wanted a suitcase that didn’t look like everyone’s Away suitcase at baggage claim. I waited for a sale and got the carry on and check-in medium in terracotta. I get compliments on the color, but it does get scuffed up easily, which I don’t think is really avoidable for suitcases that aren’t black/dark grey. I was worried about the quality because it felt a thinner than Away, but I really stuffed both to the brim (like sitting on it to zip it up) on international trips and it surprisingly held up." Carry-On Plus A larger "sibling" of Monos' original Carry-On is the Carry-On Plus. For travelers who want more space, this is the perfect suitcase. According to Monos, the Carry-On Plus will fit most US airline guidelines due to its size and proportions. However, this might not be your luggage if you're traveling on a smaller aircraft or using a carrier with stricter carry-on regulations. The Carry-On Plus is 23" x 15" x 9.5" in size. User Review: “Purchased the monos Hybrid Carry-On Plus for about $300. When I purchased the luggage I thought the suitcase was ALL aluminum and it’s NOT which I was bummed about. The luggage is plastic and the frame and latches are made of aluminum. Would I buy again probably not but for $300 I can’t complain I guess. One of the things I was worried about was the size being too big for carry-on. I flew with United from LAX to Cancun and to my surprise it fit in their overhead compartment. I tried writing a review on their website but I was unable to do so. I contacted Monos and they told me that they would send me an email after 90 days of purchase which I thought was weird. I never received the link to write a review. I contacted them again and they said they didn’t have the ability to send me another link which I thought was suspicious. So it may be some of their reviews may be biased.” Carry-On Pro The Carry-On Pro is the following variant. In addition to having a front pocket, a laptop sleeve, and zipped pouches, it is the same size as the original Carry-On. User Review: “My go-to boring and ugly American Tourister black carry-on gave out on me after 9 years of service (10/10 durability). On the market for a treat-yo self-stylish upgrade for my suitcase, I got the Monos Carry-On pro and I am obsessed. It's functional, has held up great over several international flights over the last few months, and the four-wheel drive is impressively smooth. Above all - its just CUTE.” Carry-On Pro Plus The concept is the same. Use the extra exterior pocket on the Carry-On Plus to fit electronic devices like computers, iPads, or travel headphones inside. Monos' Carry-On Pro Plus is made to cover all that. Advice: The Carry-On Pro Plus is bigger than a typical carry-on luggage and may not fit in the overhead compartments of smaller aircraft or airlines. User Review: “Initially I felt the duffel cost way more than it should. However, when I received the duffel and compared it to another one I recently purchased I realized that the bag is made with a lot of thought involved and the quality of the material is great. I am now considering buying the duffel in another color and giving away the one I originally purchased especially after traveling with it.” Conclusions About The Carry-On Lineup We hope the differences between the various models are clear. How do they perform when traveling with others? These carry-on bags meet all the right standards. They are lightweight, made of materials that are extremely durable, and simple to manage. However, these bags don't always adhere to size requirements. One piece of advice I would provide is to make sure your Monos Carry-On works with your favorite carrier by checking the measurements, especially for the Pro and Pro Plus! Additionally, the front pocket of Mono's Pro luggage is frequently criticized for being challenging to close when fully packed. Pack sensibly and appropriately! Read Also: Traveling During Winter? Jetavanaramaya: Standing Before The Tallest Brick Stupa In Anuradhapura

BY  Sibashree Sep 18, 2026

Jetavanaramaya is in the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka's UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  It is easily the most physically overwhelming structure I have seen anywhere on the island.   Can you believe that this stupa was built using 93.3 million baked mud bricks in 301 CE?  Even today, though the stupa is around half the height of the original stupa, it still impresses, with a towering height of 71 meters.   Furthermore, archaeologists think that a three-foot brick wall could be constructed between London and Edinburgh or New York City and Pittsburgh with these mud bricks.   However, Jetavanaramaya is not just about the imposing height.   It has a rich history and spiritual significance. Also, recent news has put it back in the global spotlight.  I will discuss all these aspects in this article, along with everything you need to plan the trip yourself.  Jetavanaramaya At A Glance  Detail Information Location Jetavana Monastery, Sacred City of Anuradhapura, North Central Province, Sri Lanka Built by King Mahasena (r. 273–301 CE) started the construction  It was completed by his son, Sirimeghavanna/ Maghavanna I Original height Approximately 122 metres  It is the tallest brick structure ever built. Current height Approximately 71 metres, after 12th-century restoration under King Parakramabahu I Bricks used An estimated 93.3 million baked bricks Global ranking (at completion) Third-largest man-made structure on Earth, after the two Great Pyramids of Giza Base area Roughly 233,000 m²  Relic enshrined Believed to be a fragment of a sash or belt worn by the Buddha. UNESCO status Part of the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1982 Nearest town Anuradhapura city centre, about 4–5 km away  A Recent Spotlight: Jetavanaramaya's 2026 Global Moment Jetavanaramaya does not need an introduction due to its architectural magnanimity or significance in Buddhism.   However, it has become a talking point once again with CNN Travel publishing a detailed feature recently.   In the February 2026 post, CNN Travel has described it as “massive megastructure built for eternity.”   Also, the same post places it alongside the Great Pyramids in terms of ancient engineering ambition.  The piece, reported from Anuradhapura itself, spent time with Godamune Pannaseeha, a senior archaeology officer who has spent years studying the site.  Also, it framed the stupa within the living pilgrimage culture that still surrounds it.  As I have seen it, there were pilgrims in white, monks chanting at dawn, rituals that have continued largely uninterrupted for more than 2,000 years.  The coverage was picked up widely across the US and international outlets in the weeks that followed.  Moreover, Sri Lankan media noted it as a rare moment of global attention for a site that, despite its scale, remains far less visited than Sigiriya Rock Fortress or the Temple of the Tooth.   If you are planning a Cultural Triangle trip in 2026, this is genuinely a good year to see it before the crowds catch up to the coverage.  The History Behind The Tallest Brick Stupa In The World Jetavanaramaya is a physical record of a religious dispute.   Understanding why it exists makes the visit land differently, even if we forget about the height or scale for a while.  King Mahasena And The Sect Rivalry That Built It  King Mahasena began construction of this stupa between 273 and 301 CE.  It was during a period of real tension between two Buddhist sects, the Mahavihara and the more liberal Abhayagiri fraternity.  Mahasena was a patron of the Abhayagiri fraternity.   The stupa became the centrepiece of the Jetavana Vihara, a monastic complex built for the breakaway Sagalika sect.  It was designed, according to archaeologists, to accommodate more than 3,000 monks.   Every structure in the complex was oriented toward the stupa.  It was a daily, physical reminder of where devotion was meant to point.  The Relic Enshrined Inside  Jetavanaramaya is a solid stupa, not a hollow one.  So, you cannot go inside.   What's believed to be enshrined at its core is a fragment of a sash or belt worn by the Buddha.  Thus, it is a cenotaph of deep religious significance rather than a burial monument in the ordinary sense.   Some accounts also connect the site to the cremation of Mahinda Thera, the monk credited with bringing Buddhism to Sri Lanka.  This version about the stupa comes from the excavated ash and charcoal layers found nearby.  Restoration Through The Centuries  Like most of Anuradhapura, Jetavanaramaya fell into decline after the capital shifted away from the city.  It was buried gradually by jungle growth and centuries of neglect.   King Parakramabahu I restored it in the 12th century, bringing it to roughly its current height.   Large-scale conservation further resumed in the 20th century, and it remains an active restoration site today.  Even in its diminished state, it is still the largest man-made brick structure by volume.  What It Is Really Like To Stand Before Jetavanaramaya Honestly, photos do not give a fair idea about the scale of the stupa.  Standing at its base, this is what I actually felt.   The Scale You Don't Expect  A height of 71 metres and made of 93 million bricks!  Reading about these numbers is different from actually walking the perimeter.   Each side of the base runs close to 576 feet, and the entrance staircases alone are around 28 feet wide.   It was a long walk circling the structure once.   However, the brick structure was more fascinating, with a distinct texture and color.   Furthermore, the uneven weathering of this deep terracotta structure is an art time has created.   No photograph truly captures that.   Golden Hour And The Rituals Around It  Afternoon is the best time to visit the stupa.   The heat is less, and the stupa looks warmer with a red-orange hue thanks to the light.   Also, this is the time when pilgrims in large numbers circumambulate the stupa clockwise.  They walk barefoot with flowers or lit oil lamps in their hands, and suddenly you see evening has set in.   Exploring The Jetavana Monastery Complex The stupa is the epicenter of the monastery complex.   However, if you want to know more about the history and soak in the spiritual ambiance, explore the other structures mindfully.   The Jetavanaramaya Museum  This on-site museum is small, but it displays artefacts recovered during excavation.  I saw beads, coins, ivory carvings, pottery, and inscribed stone fragments, along with information panels on the sect rivalry that produced the stupa.   It takes around 30 minutes to explore the museum. However, it is a useful stop, considering the information it provides.   Nearby Ruins Worth Your Time  There are remains of monastic buildings, ponds and boundary walls around the stupa.   The refectory ruins and stone urinals with their surprisingly intricate carved drainage systems especially demand a mention.  These structures hint at an organised monastic life.  Entrance Fees And Tickets Jetavanaramaya is covered by the single Anuradhapura Sacred City round ticket.  So, you do not need to buy a separate ticket for it.   Visitor category Approximate price (2026) Notes Foreign adult (non-SAARC) US$25–30 Covers:  Jetavanaramaya Ruwanwelisaya Abhayagiri Thuparamaya, and other sacred-city sites SAARC nationals US$12–15 Passport required at the counter Children (6–12) Around half the adult rate Under 6 generally free Local (Sri Lankan) visitors Free ID required and a small fee applies only for the site museums Combined Cultural Triangle ticket US$50–60 Covers:  Anuradhapura Polonnaruwa Sigiriya  Dambulla Royal Cave Temple   Note that the Sacred City round ticket does not include Isurumuniya, Sri Maha Bodhi, or Mihintale.  So, you will need smaller entry tickets.   You can buy tickets at the main office near the Archaeological Museum, or pre-book online to skip the queue.  Opening Hours And Best Time To Visit Jetavanaramaya The archaeological sites are generally open daily from around 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.   Avoid the midday window (roughly 12:00–3:00 PM), when the heat over the open brick platform gets genuinely uncomfortable.   Early morning and the last two hours before closing are both good choices.  The latter also lines up with the evening rituals.   Moreover, December to March is the most pleasant season weather-wise, with lower humidity and less rain.  Getting There  Anuradhapura is roughly 200 km north of Colombo.  The journey takes around 4.5 hours by car.   Also, it is about 65 km from Dambulla.   Moreover, in a Cultural Triangle itinerary, it pairs naturally with Sigiriya, Dambulla, and Mihintale.   Again, since the Sacred City is vast, you can rent a bicycle for the day to move around.   The bicycle rental costs around LKR 1500 for a day.   Furthermore, you can hire tuk-tuks and cars with a driver-guide.  A Suggested Half-Day Itinerary For Jetavanaramaya  Time Stop What to expect 7:00 AM Sri Maha Bodhi Dawn pilgrimage atmosphere at the sacred fig tree. 8:00 AM Ruwanwelisaya The gleaming white stupa and its elephant wall. 9:15 AM Jetavanaramaya Spend at least an hour, and more with the museum. 10:45 AM Jetavanaramaya Museum Excavated artefacts and site context. 11:30 AM Abhayagiri Dagoba The third great stupa, with a quieter, more forested setting. 1:00 PM Lunch in Anuradhapura town Break before the afternoon heat.  Tips From My Visit To Jetavanaramaya A local guide (arranged through your hotel or the ticket office) adds real value here. You cannot know much of the sect rivalry from the on-site signage.  You can take photos here. However, avoid posing with your back to the stupa or in disrespectful positions.   This is an active religious site for Buddhist pilgrims.  Beyond Jetavanaramaya: Continuing Your Anuradhapura Journey Jetavanaramaya fits easily into an Anuradhapura itinerary, including Ruwanwelisaya and Mihintale.  This cluster is the best way to get a full picture of the ancient capital.  Furthermore, you can continue south from here to other major Buddhist sites such as Mulkirigala and Kataragama.  Why Jetavanaramaya Still Matters  The significance of Jetavanaramaya is specific.   It is proof of Sri Lankan excellence in craftsmanship in the fourth century.   Even then, they could organize labor and materials and execute an ambition on a scale that rivalled any civilization of that era.  So, around 1700 years later, when you stand at the base of the stupa, it is like time travel.
