I travel often, and I know many of you do, too. Recently, I tried Play Airlines, a new budget airline popular with Gen Z.   Founded in 2019, Play Airlines follows the motto "pay less, play more." It offers flights from major East Coast cities in the US to destinations like London and Copenhagen.  Also, all these flights are hundreds of dollars less than those of other airlines. This is why it appeals to travelers looking to save money.  The airline carriers are among the best that offer ultra-low fares when traveling to Europe. So the new entrant in the market has appeared in the search results for Transatlantic flights after April 2022. The airline aims to bring visitors to Iceland and connect North America and Europe. The airline started flying in 2021 in Iceland; however, in North America, the service began in April 2022. Do you want to know more about the PLAY Airlines reviews? I will tell you about the airline, its foundation, and my experience? Keep reading!  This Is My Experience With Play Airlines! When the airline carrier was first inaugurated, Play Airlines and Baltimore Airport collaborated to create a good impression in the form of a water cannon salute when the first plane of Play Airline pulled up to the gate. Overall, the first impression was quite well made by Play Airlines. The staff is helpful and interactive. Another added advantage of a low-budget carrier airline. It is unheard of for a low-budget carrier airline to be perfect concerning its services. I would also like to discuss certain shortcomings that I identified. Do give it a go before you book tickets on Play! The flight I traveled on was spacious, clean, and memorable because I was finally traveling to Paris, one of my dream destinations. What Is Play Airlines? Play Airlines is addressed as the Ultra Low-Cost Carrier (ULCC), which is not completely uncommon. However, many carriers have additional charges based on transportation, which ULCC still needs! These airlines are perfect for passengers traveling on a budget like me! My travel plans are concrete, and I am not free to have flexible dates and timings because I have a job! I am also one of those who do not care about luxury or frills added to necessities. Therefore, I am functional when it comes to services such as Wi-Fi and entertainment charging points. Ultimately, I can adjust this much if I am traveling to a destination, especially for a vacation. Play is the successor of Wow Air, a low-cost airline carrier that ran out of service in 2019. So, if you question, is Play Airlines safe? It is. PLAY Airlines Reviews 2025: Did I like It?  So I was traveling to Paris from Boston and was charged $292 for a roundtrip. To begin with, this is quite a cheap deal that I have got on Play Airline. Another significant thing I noticed and did not expect was a comfortable seat and 34 inches of legroom. Isn't that amazing? Finding another airline that gives 34 inches of leg space might be challenging! It is quite unheard of in a budget carrier. The seats are Delta Comfort Plus, which is comfortable, and I was very relaxed throughout the flight. The chairs are tall enough for you to rest your head. As a frequent flier, half of your problems are solved if the seat is comfortable! According to my Play Airlines review, it is quite comfortable to travel with this airline. The space for the leg also helps in extending the tray table. There was no charging extension or plug-ins in the Play flights, which is usually there in transatlantic carriers and U.S. airlines. I found the crew very supportive and helpful. I had a very positive experience while interacting with the crew. No food or snack is free; however, this is one of the side effects of low-budget carriers. I did not see any food or water services throughout the flight except at the beginning and end. What I Found Beneficial? In A321neo, headrests were present in each seat with extra padding and adjustable wings. When you fly Play Airlines, you will get better seating comfort than most of the low-budget flying airlines. The setting does help in creating a more comfortable sleeping position. I also noticed that every seat had its lights and dedicated air vents. It helped me a lot because I am an avid reader, so there was no issue with my entertainment as I almost finished a book on the flight. A significant advantage I found on Play Airlines is that there was no bundling, nor was the fare made complicated concerning overall expenditure. I also found the timings of the flights to be mostly punctual. The connecting flights to Europe via Keflavik are conveniently set. Their food and drink collection is quite decent; you can order based on your requirement. There is also no connectivity, such as Wi-Fi, messaging, or entertainment. What Did I Find Negative?  I have heard that the seat arrangements are a mixed bag, such as seats with 34 inches of leg space, while some seats give you a meager 28 inches of leg space. So, as a traveler, you should search on Google Flights regarding the space of the specific flights of Play Airlines before you book tickets. Make sure to check the legroom extension to have some wiggle room. Another significant shortcoming that I noticed on the flight was that there needed to be more power. As a traveler, one thing that is essential in today's time is charging your phone, which I wasn't able to do because of no power. You will not be getting any refund; hence, in case of cancellation from your side, you will need clarification with the services. Another thing that might look like a chore to you is creating an account to view or book seats and baggage fees. The complete itinerary or any schedule based on base fare will only be accessible if you have an account on the official website, www.flyplay.com. The country, known as the “Asia Light,” was a British colony, and for them, it became a strategic commercial point. With British rule established here, it became a land of trade, fortification, and military activities. Further, in 1941, Singapore was hit by Japanese attacks. Remember, it was coordinated with the attack of Japan on Pearl Harbor. However, the British rule and the Japanese attacks are just the tip of the iceberg if you look at Singapore's war-trodden and complex political history.  Thus, you will find many sites in Singapore that tell the tales of tragic human incidents. The Battle Box The Battle Box was a British underground command center located at Fort Canning Hill. It functioned as a part of the Malaya Command headquarters. Further, the Malaya Command headquarters defended Singapore and Malaya during World War II. The site was restored in 2016. Further, it is a site that speaks about the true reasons behind the fall of Singapore during World War II. So, it is an important educational and tourist destination in Singapore today. Lieutenant-General Arthur E. Percival and Allied Forces decided to surrender to the Japanese Forces at The Battle Box. The surrender happened on 15th February 1942.  4. Haw Par Villa For me, Haw Par Villa is one of the scariest sites I have visited. According to Chinese mythology, there are ten hells, and Haw Par Villa mimics them.  However, the scariest thing about Haw Par Villa is that you can hear screams from this area at night. Also, many people believe that the statues here are real human beings covered in wax. Further, the local people call it one of the doors of hell.  Even if you are not up for its haunted story, you can visit this site to see the 1000 statues and dioramas. These structures are the best displays of Asian craftsmanship. Further, the stories of 10 hells presented here are the fusion of various Oriental beliefs and philosophies like Hinduism, Taoism, and Buddhism.  Haw Par Villa, or the ten courts of hell, are “the result of the mixing of four different religions and philosophies: Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Confucianism.”Eisen Teo, the chief curator of Hell’s Museum 5. Fort Siloso Fort Siloso gets its name from the Malayan word Siloso, meaning rock. It is the only coastal fort in Singapore and has played a significant role in the country’s defense. This fort has an on-site military museum filled with the memorabilia of World War II.  The most striking elements of the museum are tunnels, fortified military structures, interactive video documentaries, and wax figures. The wax statues at the Surrender Chambers depict British and Japanese soldiers.  6. Reflections At Bukit Chandu Reflections at Bukit Chandu is an interpretative center for dark tourism in Singapore for educational and historical purposes.  Today, the Reflections at Bukit Chandu tell the tales of the Battle of Pasir Panjang in 1942. The Battle Point 226 here is a testament to how the Malay Regiment stood against the Japanese troops.  The Malay Regiment began its journey with a recruit of 25 recruits in 1933. Within 10 years, this “experimental company” was strong enough to combat the Imperial Japanese forces.  The Japanese killed a hundred men from the Malay Regiment, and a few more were butchered as they refused to take off their uniforms during the surrender of Singapore.  Reflections at Bukit Chandu commemorates and presents the sacrifice of the men in the Malay Regiment as they lived up to the “Ta'at Setia,” or “Faithful and true” motto.  You must explore the following collectibles at Reflections At Bukit Chandu. St Andrew's Cathedral, Singapore  St. Andrew’s Cathedral is another important landmark for dark tourism in Singapore because of its association with World War II.  In 1942, Singapore fell, and this cathedral started functioning as an emergency hospital. The Australian Field Ambulances repurposed the cathedral for the treatment of a large number of wounded troops and civilians.  That was the time of aerial bombardments and the roar of the artillery. Furthermore, the floor and walls of the church remained covered with the blood of the wounded and deceased.  So, if you are a dark tourism enthusiast or someone interested in knowing about the wartime history, you must visit the War Memorial Wing added to the section in 1952.  This War Memorial is permanent, and it commemorates the lives lost in WWII.  Moreover, even today, you can see the battlefield scars. At least one stick of bombs hit the ground.  Also, there are tombstones and plaques inside the cathedral. These were built to remember the missionaries and members of the Civil Service who were imprisoned and lost their lives to protect the city.  In addition, during wars and difficult times, the church grounds became the refuge of helpless people.  The Christian leaders ministered to these people in the church grounds. This happened even during the Japanese Imperial Army attacks.  8. The Orchard Road: Glittering Malls Built Over Graves  Today, when you explore Orchard Road in Singapore, you will find the most sprawling malls in Singapore.  However, it is also a dark tourism destination in Singapore because of the grim history of the area.  Furthermore, there have been reports of paranormal sightings in the area. Let’s delve deeper.  The Graveyard Connection  As I have mentioned, a large portion of Orchard Road, especially the Ngee Ann City area, was once a graveyard.  Once, it had around 25000 to 30000 graves.  The Feng Shui Architecture  In the 1990s, the Ngee Ann City was built on the graveyard.  The developers then consulted the Feng Shui experts to pacify the spirits of the dead.  In fact, the architecture of the building shows a prominent influence of the Feng Shui traditions.  The twin towers look like red joss sticks, and the curved frontage of the building looks like a traditional Chinese tombstone.  Deaths In The Grisly Hotel  Some upscale hotels in the Orchard Road area have some really dark pasts.  Among those incidents, the murder of a Thai woman in 1974 was the scariest.
