While it's very busy and well-liked on weekends, we only saw one other group as we were leaving during our midweek visit. This is a moderate hike that takes about one or one and a half hours to complete (not including the time you want to hang out there). It is about 2.16 miles round trip. Remember that the final five miles will be on unpaved roads. When we went, there were some muddy and dubious areas on the road because it had just snowed.
