Visiting Paris at least once is on everyone’s travel bucket list. I’ve been to Paris a couple of times and trust me, even a week would not be enough to explore the whole city, let alone two days.  But not to worry! There are several creative ways to explore a place in less time, like the Paris Hop on Hop off buses that take you around the city and all its major attractions in a short amount of time.  The city has endless museums, monuments, stores, etc., and it’s nearly impossible to tour all of them in 2 days.  But I have an efficient Paris travel itinerary for you, where you can cover every significant landmark and popular restaurant in just two days!  Paris Trip Itinerary Day 1  Supposing you’ve arrived a night before and have two whole days on your hands, let’s start with the first and the most popular attraction — the Eiffel Tower after you’ve had your breakfast.  Eiffel Tower This is the place you HAVE to visit with Hop on Hop off Bus even if you’re in Paris for a couple of hours. Although it might get crowded as it is on weekends, trust me, it’s all worth it! The tickets are available online. You can also book tickets from the counter at the tower's base.  Timings Morning, 9:00 till midnight, from the middle of June till early September.  Morning 9:30 till Evening, 11:00, throughout the remaining months of the year (During Easter weekend and Spring, the closing time is extended another hour) Ticket Price Second floor (Ticket with access lift): Adult - €22.60; youth rate (aged 12-24) — €11.30; Kids (aged 4-11) — €5.70; Disabled - €5.70 The Top (Ticket with lift access: Adult - €35.30; youth rate (aged 12-24) — €17.70; Kids (aged 4-11) — €8.90; Disabled - €5.70 Second floor (Ticket with access to stairs): Adult - €14.20; youth rate (aged 12-24) — €7.10; Kids (aged 4-11) — €3.60; Disabled — €3.60 Ticket with access stairs 2nd-floor +lift: Adult - €26.90; youth rate (aged 12-24) — €13.50; Kids (aged 4-11) — €6.80; Disabled — €6.80. The top, ticket to the top via the elevator with a glass of champagne: Adult - €58.30 Second-floor ticket to the second floor via the elevator with a glass of champagne: Adult - €43.60 Second-floor ticket to the second floor via the stairs with a glass of champagne: Adult - €35.20 Les Invalides After your morning overlooking the city from the top, you can head to Les Invalides, just 20 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. Witness Napoleon’s tombstone in the church. Also right opposite the church is Musée Rodin, a must-visit! Timings of Les Invalides Opens at 10 am each day. You can enter till 6 pm Every month, the gates open late on the first Friday. Timings remain 6 pm till 10 pm Stays closed on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th  Timings of Musée Rodin Open every day except monday. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close by 6.30 pm. The last entry is at 5.45 pm. Closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25 Gift store is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. Ticket prices of Les Invalides Museum and exhibitions: full price: €15; discounted price: €12; late-night opening: €10; youth (aged 18-25): €5 Guided tours to museums and exhibitions: total price: €20; discounted price: €15; group (min 20 pax): €17.  Invalides Musical Season Concerts: Saint-Louis Cathedral Concert - Cat.1 - €35, Cat.2 - €15 (8 pm); Turenne Room Concert:12.15pm) - €10, (8 pm) - €30  Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe Further following the itinerary, you’ll get to Champs-Élysées and from there to Arc de Triomphe. You can explore this beautiful place and shop from one of the most famous French boutiques.  Give your trip a little halt and have a coffee and snack at the café nearby, savoring the beauty of Paris.  Timings  Open from April 1st upto September 30th. Every week, you can visit From Wednesday to Monday — from 10 am to 11 pm and Tuesday from 11 am to 11 pm.  Opens October 1st. Visits continue till March 31. Visitors are allowed From Wednesday upto Monday - 10 am and 10:30 pm; Tuesdays - 11am to 10:30pm Closed on: On two days, gates close within 4 pm. The dates are 24 and 31 December 2024. The days of the year when the place is closed are January 1st, May 1st, May 8 (morning), July 14 (morning), November 11 (morning), and December 25. Ticket Price Single price: €16  Grand Voyageur, at €13 only, for members who have subscription cards Dinner: When you have just 2 days in Paris, make sure you make the most out of the culinary delights. Chez Janou is one of my favorite local restaurants. Have rib steak, tagliatelle with snails, and braised duck breast. Paris Trip Itinerary Day 2 Leave the second day mainly for the museums and artistic tours, which is a must whenever you’re in France. But before all that let's start with an amazing French breakfast.  Breakfast: Head to one of the most famous bakeries in Paris — Boulangerie Mamiche. You can find everything here from doughnuts to cookies to baguettes and much more! Do try their babka, made of rich brioche dough braided with chocolate.  Louvre Museum The Louvre Museum is the largest-ever private collection of ancient Roman sculptures assembled throughout the 19th century and marks my words this collection will blow your mind! Timings  Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday: 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening On Wednesday and Friday, gates open at 9 am and close by 9 pm Tuesday: Closed  Ticket Price  General admission: €22 Under 18-year-olds, under 26-year-old residents of the EEA: Free  Audio guide: €6 Guided tours, storytime, and workshops + Louvre: €31 Palais Garnier The famous opera house is undoubtedly one of Paris's most picturesque architectural structures. We can also list it among one of the most majestic theaters in Europe. Spend some time here observing the architecture and details of the beautiful architecture. Timings  Every day from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening Gates remain shut exceptionally on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th Ticket Prices  Full price: €15  Reduced price: €10 Free entry for children < 12 years, job seekers, disabled people, and accompanying persons. Jardin du Luxembourg Sit and enjoy the sunset at one of the most beautiful gardens in the city. The city of Osaka is just a very fast Shinkansen away from the capital of the country. Therefore, a trip to Osaka falls well within the sphere of convenience for the tourists. Osaka is different from the capital city of Japan in various ways. As a result, the tourists should always try to explore. The city provides you with friendly locals, the best nightlife, and most importantly, some of the most delicious food in Japan. If Tokyo’s your flashy, fast-talking friend, then Osaka is the one who drags you out for late-night snacks and somehow knows every back alley in town. You’ve probably seen its neon glow on Instagram, maybe even heard whispers about the food scene — and yeah, it’s all true. Osaka just… does things differently. Osaka has a historical side. Therefore, tourists visiting Japan should enjoy visiting the historical side of Osaka. Places like the Osaka place overall provide the tourists with an enriching experience while they are on their trip to Osaka. The castle serves as a great place to explore Japanese History and understand the elegance of Japanese architecture. Moreover, the tourists should visit the place at any time of the year. However, the cherry blossom season in April serves as the best time to visit the place, as it reflects a different aura. The Sakura blooms in the month of April. Therefore, the beauty of the place is enhanced. This time of the year is also a pleasant time to visit the place. Therefore, the tourists should visit Osaka during this time of the year. But here’s the deal: as easygoing as the city feels, a smooth trip still needs a bit of planning. From navigating the city to finding the luxury hotels in Osaka Japan, it’s a lot of work!  I’ve learned the hard way (missed trains, wrong hotel location — you name it), so here’s the stuff I wish I’d known first. The Best Time To Visit Osaka People can take a trip to Osaka during the month of April when the Sakura blooms. However, tourists can visit the place throughout the year as there is no specific right time to visit the place. Honestly? There’s no “bad” time to go. It’s more about what kind of trip you’re after. Spring (March–May) is just ridiculous — cherry blossoms are everywhere, like someone dumped pink confetti all over the city. The weather’s dreamy. But fair warning, everyone knows it, so expect packed parks and pricier everything. Autumn, from September to November, is kind of my favorite. Milder temps, fewer people, and it’s easier to get a last-minute table somewhere. Only hitch? Rain likes to crash the party now and then. Summer — from June to August — is sticky. Like, humid humid. But oh man, the festivals. Fireworks lighting up the river, food stalls lined up for blocks… It’s electric. You just have to embrace the sweat. Winter (December–February) is quieter. Not freezing like Hokkaido, but cool enough to make hot bowls of ramen taste even better. And hey, no elbow fights in the subway. Planning Your Trip to Osaka  If you’re thinking, “I’ll just wing it,” um… You could, but Osaka’s popular enough now that winging it often means missing out. The tourists should always plan their trips in advance. Planning trips early allows people to visit every place with time on their hands. Planning trips early also allows people to ensure that they are not spending more than what is required. Here are a few things that you can incorporate to ensure that you have a concrete plan. 1. Find The Cheapest Flights. Book early. Like… months early. Especially if you’ve got your heart set on spring, check different dates, be okay with weird flight hours — that 2 a.m. arrival might save you enough cash to splurge on sushi later. 2. Treat Yourself To A Good Hotel. Cut corners on flights? Great. Put that extra into a hotel you’ll actually enjoy being in. Swissotel Nankai Osaka is right above Namba Station, which means you can roll out of bed and basically be anywhere in the city within minutes. Bonus: Some rooms have that traditional Ryokan vibe, if you want a bit of “old Japan” without ditching modern comforts. 3. Book Restaurants Ahead Of Time. If you’ve stalked a restaurant on Instagram, book it. Now. Osaka’s food scene doesn’t mess around. But leave room for surprises — some of my best meals came from random alley spots selling takoyaki or okonomiyaki for a few hundred yen. 4. Create An Itinerary To Optimise Your Time And Experience In The City. Universal Studios Japan? Give it a day, minimum. Then work in Osaka Castle, Kuromon Market (snack heaven), and Dotonbori at night for the lights and chaos. Got extra days? Hop over to Nara for deer selfies or Kyoto for temples. Trains make it easy 5. Learn How To Navigate The City’s Transportation System. Osaka’s trains and subways are fast, clean, and — once you figure out the map — kinda addictive to use. The Osaka Amazing Pass is worth it for unlimited rides. Thinking of city-hopping? Get the JR Pass and thank yourself later. Oh, and pack smart. Summer’s basically a sauna. Other seasons? Layers are your friend — evenings can get chilly even if the day’s warm. Things To Consider Before Taking A Trip To Osaka The thing about Osaka is that it sticks with you. It could be the food, the late-night streets, or the fact that locals have this warm, “come on in” energy. Plan it well, and you’ll already be plotting your return before your flight home even boards. And yeah, if you like the sound of rolling straight from the train into your hotel, Swissotel Nankai Osaka makes that ridiculously easy. You will get an idea of where you want to go when you go through these factors.   Basics of Bali   Apart from the beautiful beaches, the basics of Bali also include hidden waterfalls, picturesque rice paddies, and iconic temples. The tourism industry is thriving not just because of the natural landscapes. It is one of the most exotic places to travel, especially with its beautiful landscapes and culture!   However, also because of its water sports like surfing, hikes to volcanoes like Mount Batur, and delicious food. Yes, you also need to be a little cautious when visiting Bali because there is unpredictable weather, drinking tap water is not safe and beware of scammers.   Theories of Thailand   Thailand is famous for its temples and monasteries, especially when Buddhism is an integral part of their culture. Additionally, how can we forget the beautiful sandy beaches of Thailand creating the perfect picturesque view for you?   Furthermore, the locals there are popular for their hospitality and friendliness. Let's discuss how the shopping scene is there plus, the way the food and culture of the two places differ. Then you can decide where you plan to go, Bali vs Thailand!   A Detailed Comparison between Bali and Thailand   Bali is a part of Indonesia while Thailand is a whole country, so statistically, it is much bigger. Islands that you must visit if you plan to travel to Thailand are Koh Phangon and Koh Samui for natural beauty. While, if it is all about shopping and a big city feel, go to Bangkok.   Let’s not forget Phuket and Pattaya if you are a beach lover. After all, the rice terraces in the north of the country are a perfect place if you are into photoshoots and perfect DPs for your social media profiles. Coming to Bali, it is a smaller place and easier to travel.   Be it Ubud or Kuta, the beaches are beautiful and relaxing. Let us not forget the beautiful crochet dresses you get in the local market which you can then don and visit the rice paddy fields. Beautiful volcanoes on the island have created beautiful forests and waterfalls around them.   Visa   Visiting Bali will need you to purchase your visa online or after you arrive at their airport for 500,000 IDR/AUD 50/USD 35. Additionally, if you are visiting Bali, you will need to pay a tourist tax of USD 10/AUD 15/ 150,000 IDR per person.   Paying online will help you book your visa beforehand, however; you have to use a different portal to book it. Furthermore, you can also book your visa at the airport, however, I would suggest otherwise. Going to Thailand, and getting a visa is much easier as compared to Bali.   It is also one of the places to travel without a passport! You have to pay 10,000 Thai baht for a single entry which can be extended later because they provide a Visa waiver that lasts for 30 days. However, the visa-on-arrival scheme is not quite well established.   I did it and there is a huge line with so much chaos in the airport. If you have a connecting flight from there, you are doomed especially because there is a lot of partiality going on. If you are applying for a group visa, the process is much faster as compared to an individual visa so, I will suggest applying for an online visa before traveling!   Accommodation   If you want luxury, when you are booking accommodation, Bali is a better fit than Thailand, in my opinion. There are a variety of guest houses, Airbnb, hotel resorts, hostels, and homestays available in Bali with all the comforts and warm hospitality of the local people.   You will get accommodations under a diverse range, from budget-friendly to luxurious. Thailand also has a diverse range of accommodations, especially in the big cities. The concerns arises if you like spacious living quarters because Bali will give you that while Thailand, mostly is a little cramped.   Transportation   When you plan for Bali, try to select locations that are closer to each other! For a single day, create an itinerary where you visit two to three places that fall in the same direction or district. The best option is renting a scooter because it is one of the best options to explore both popular and off-track locales.   You can also book your rides on transportation apps such as Grab and Gojek. Several places are quite traffic-prone in areas such as Canggu and Seminyak. Thailand is huge, so you select any two or three cities like Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok, and others.   Apart from renting scooters, you can get public transport such as trains, planes, and buses in Thailand which is quite easy for you! You can select Thailand as one of the best places to travel with kids.   Beaches   Beautiful beaches in Bali offer you soft powdery sand with endless blue and green water, and waves crashing! You must visit the resort town of Nusa Dua, after all, it is one of the coolest places to check out the picturesque views.   Another beautiful view that you must not miss is the black sand beaches in Bali with its aesthetics. The Indian Ocean in all its beauty is brought to the forefront because some people are crazy about the water. Even though Thailand has more beaches than Bali, you won’t be able to cover all of them because it is a whole country! Try and visit the famous beach, Railay Beach. So, I feel Bali has more natural beach beauty as compared to Thailand.   Things to Do   If you compare geographically, Bali is a smaller island compared to Thailand, a big country. Of course, we go by numbers, Thailand might give you a larger number of things to do, however, it might become more hectic as compared to Bali. However, the locations and activities are quite far apart from each other.   Surfing, snorkeling, swimming, and parasailing are some of the water sports that you can do when visiting Bali. So, when it comes to experiencing things to the maximum, Bali is a better choice as compared to Thailand.   Starting from Uluwatu Temple, Bali Zoo, Mount Batur, Tanah Lot Temple, Goa Gajah and so much more, you will see the beauty of nature, culture, history, people, and others. Thailand offers you a beautiful view of the White House of Chiang Rai and the Grand Palace.     Safety   When it comes to safety, there are some issues in Thailand and Bali. Bali is normally quite safe and the crimes that are reported are mostly petty such as snatch and grab or pickpocketing. While Thailand’s road accidents are quite high.   From a crime perspective, Thailand is safe overall however, the nightlife districts in Pattaya, Phuket, and Bangkok attract a lot of scammers. Furthermore, there have been people who have fallen victim to occasional acts of crime and violence.   Nightlife   Thailand has better nightlife than Bali so if you are a party lover, you must either be in Bangkok, Phuket, or Pattaya in Thailand. Bali on the other hand has limited places to offer you party vibes such as Kuta Beach or Seminyak Beach!   The parties in Bali are more inclusive because of the close circle, locals mostly invite you if they connect well with you. While Thailand has a seedy side of the nightlife!   Culture   Bali is a Hindu-majority Island with a natural landscape but what is more attractive is their traditional culture. With a Hindu enclave in a Muslim country, the city has a well-defined culture with temples, rituals, festivals, offerings, arts and crafts.   Thailand on the other hand has a lot of Thai and Buddhist culture persisting creating a fascinating culture. There are several monasteries and places to worship which are quite welcoming for tourists.   Overall, both places have beautiful, warm, and welcoming cultures and you can easily vibe anywhere!   Food   With a prominent culture for food, both Balinese and Thai food are delicious. However, compared to Bali, the street food culture is quite rich with delicious and high-quality food served at a very cheap price. You will also get a range of local and international fare-based Thai restaurants.   Pad Thai, Som tam, Moo ping, Khao Soi, Khao man gai, and other items are deliciously available almost everywhere. If you are a fruit lover, you have to try their mango, papaya, and other fruits, desserts, and drinks on the street.   At Bali, there is a lot of cafe culture, and it is a bit expensive especially when it comes to offering a normal menu. Some common items that you should try in Bali are Nasi Goreng, Bali Guling, Sate, and Mie Goreng.   Shopping   Everyone loves shopping, so if this is a factor based on which you choose a location for your next vacation, then let me tell you it is quite different in Bali vs Thailand. You will find high-end products at the malls of Bangkok, and night markets at different beach towns in Thailand.   You should keep the money for shopping when visiting Thailand while in Bali, things are quite cheap. Several entrepreneurial shops and small stores are giving you a variety of local options, arts, crafts, clothing, and others.   So, Is Bali Better or Thailand?   Of course, in my opinion, I enjoyed more in Bali but that could have been because I was more experienced in traveling than when I visited Thailand.
