Here are the five tips for traveling light.

Secret 1: Use Smaller Luggage or a Suitcase

Traveling light starts with the luggage you will bring. If you use a bigger suitcase, you have more space to fill, but there will not be enough space for unnecessary things if you choose smaller luggage.

Consider lightweight suitcases for your travels. Manufacturers claim that luggage under 10 pounds is lightweight, while those around 7 pounds are claimed to be ultralight. If you choose a smaller suitcase, ensure that it has enough compartments and pockets that will help you organize your personal things.

Ensure the weight of your bag before traveling. You can purchase a travel scale for accuracy. Do not rely on the weighing scale at the airport. It will be too late if you have packed too much.

Secret 2: Stick to the Packing List

One of the common mistakes why travelers pack too much– especially those who are first-timers, is because they did not use a packing list. A packing list will help you pack only the necessary things for the travel.

Try packing all the things you like without the guide of the packing list. When you are done, get the list and take out those unnecessary ones that are not on the list. You realized you still have a lot of space, right? That’s why only take those you need for the trip. Do not bring too many clothes that you won’t wear.

Not sure which are items are essential? Check some packing lists on the web. You might find a packing list that suits your travel destination!

Secret 3: Pack Lightweight Clothes

Remind yourself that you are not only packing clothes for your travel. You also have to pack some toiletries, electronics, and shoes. Thus, you need to pack lightweight clothes.

Choose to pack clothes that are made from lighter fabrics. Wool or heavyweight fleece jackets are bulky and heavy.  Although these garments can keep you warm, some fabrics are lightweight but can still offer warmth.

When it comes to shoes, bring a comfortable pair, flexible in style and not bulky, you can also pack one pair of shoe inserts if needed. But do not bring more than two pairs of shoes, be realistic enough.
Bring another pair if you have a special occasion to attend during your travel.

If you have a formal event to attend during your travel, bring one classy yet flexible outfit. Flexible outfits are those you can still wear for another evening but pair with a different outfit. Do not bring a bulky dress or full suit and jacket outfit. It will take up a lot of space in your luggage.

Although we mentioned toiletries, you can pack none, depending on your accommodation. If you booked a hotel, it is expected that they will offer free toiletries. However, if you book at Airbnb or other rental places, ask the host first whether they have toiletries available. If not, bring the lightest options.

Secret 4: Wear the Largest Wearable Item

If you plan to bring large items like shoes, hoodies, or sweatpants– wear them. Exercise clothes have become fashionable recently, and if you are going on a long-haul journey, it is best to wear these large yet comfortable items.

Most large items are shoes. Minimize packing more than two pairs of shoes on any trip. Women can go with comfortable sneakers, which are comfortable to walk around, and heels or sandals for formal wears. The same with men, it is best to pack sneakers and loafers only.

Secret 5: Do Not Pack a Week’s Worth. Laundry Clothes

You might be traveling for a business trip, or you want to spend more than a week at your travel destination, but even so, it is not reasonable to pack more than a week’s worth. If you will, you would pay a hefty amount for additional baggage. Here are a few things to remember when packing clothes:

  • Use a dryer sheet to keep your clothes fresh in the luggage.
  • Pack only outfits that you can mix and match. Limit yourself to two pairs of pants and shoes. Pack clothes that will go well in multiple outfits.
  • Pack travel-sized laundry detergents to use when doing laundry at your travel destination.

Speaking of doing laundry at your travel destination, you can do it in three methods– use laundry detergent from The Laundress or somewhere similar and hand wash your laundry in your bathroom sink, make use of the hotel laundry service, or go to the nearest laundry shop.

If you do not have the time to hand wash your laundry or the budget to acquire the hotel laundry service, heading out to the laundry shop is the best option. Laundry services in laundromats are affordable. You can leave your dirty laundry and go back for it after your tour.

It is best to search for a reliable laundry service and dry cleaning expert around the neighborhood of your travel destination, rather than plan it on the spot. You do not want to ruin your favorite clothes during travel, right?

Wrapping It Up:

If you are on business, it is expected that you will bring electronics with you. Ensure that you don’t forget its chargers. You can securely place them in the small compartments of the luggage. Traveling light is easy if you follow these secret tips. You may have limited the things to bring, but you haven’t compromised the fun and fashion you need on your trip. Las Vegas: Two Decades of Adventure in the City of Sin

BY  Ankita Dec 11, 2023

Two years ago, I embarked on my first thrilling journey to Las Vegas! A city where time seems to stand still, the entertainment never ends. Planning a trip to Las Vegas has always been an atmosphere of its own. Additionally, back then, it was even more intriguing. Flight and Airport Experience Embarking on yet another journey from JFK Airport in New York to the enchanting city of Las Vegas! Each flight unfolds as a novel adventure. The panoramic view of the Nevada desert from the airplane window is beautiful. It serves as a serene prelude to the excitement that awaits. Upon arrival at McCarran International Airport, the transition between terminals becomes a harmonious link. It is between the captivating views from above and the vibrant experiences awaiting within Las Vegas. Navigating Terminal 1, resonating with domestic energy, and Terminal 3, a hub of global diversity, showcases the city's multifaceted allure. Utilizing the airport map Las Vegas airport seamlessly connects the practical exploration of terminals with the dynamic narrative of Las Vegas, blending efficiency, architecture, and the spirit of the city into a seamless and unforgettable airport experience. Accommodation My choice for lodging in Las Vegas has always been a hotel that can impress with its architecture and luxury. This time, I opted for the Bellagio, with its famous fountain, presenting a colossal water show set to music and dazzling lights. Gaming Zones and Entertainment Of course, Las Vegas is renowned for its casinos, and I always make it a point to visit at least one. However, this time, I decided to explore less-known places. The Neon Museum is an excellent spot for those interested in the city's history through its iconic neon signs. Exploring Niche Gaming Experiences: Steering away from the mainstream casinos, I discovered unique gaming zones that offered a distinctive blend of entertainment and culture. The Pinball Hall of Fame emerged as a delightful surprise, housing an extensive collection of vintage pinball machines. It provided a nostalgic journey through the history of gaming, offering an interactive and immersive experience that diverged from the traditional casino setting. Cultural Immersion at The Arts District: To complement the gaming adventure, I explored the burgeoning Downtown Arts District, a vibrant enclave that seamlessly integrates art, culture, and entertainment. Nestled away from the bustling Strip, this district is adorned with eclectic street art, galleries, and quirky boutiques. The juxtaposition of creativity against the backdrop of urban decay creates a unique atmosphere that captivates visitors seeking a different side of Las Vegas. It’s the perfect contrast to high-energy attractions like Atomic Golf, offering a more laid-back and artistic experience just a short ride away. Culinary Delights Las Vegas is famous for its diverse culinary establishments. I always recommend trying dishes at Gordon Ramsay Steak in the Paris Las Vegas hotel. It's truly a unique experience for gastronomy enthusiasts. Interesting Stories And here's an intriguing story: while strolling around Fremont Street, I met a man who told me he attended the opening of the Golden Gate casino back in 1906. His tales of how the city has changed over the century left an incredible impression. Exploring the Arts and Culture Scene Beyond the glitz and glamour, Las Vegas has a thriving arts and culture scene. The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is a hidden gem, hosting Broadway shows and symphony performances that add a touch of sophistication to the city's entertainment repertoire. Day Trips Beyond the Strip While the famous Las Vegas Strip is a magnet for tourists, taking a day trip to the Valley of Fire State Park is a must. The stunning red sandstone formations create a surreal landscape that offers a peaceful retreat from the lively atmosphere of the city. Adventures Off the Beaten Path Venturing off the Strip, I discovered the vibrant and artsy Downtown Arts District, filled with galleries, boutiques, and unique street art. It's a refreshing contrast to the opulence of the main tourist areas. The Evolution of Vegas My journey to Las Vegas is always a new adventure, regardless of how many times I've been here. The city is in a constant state of evolution, offering something new and exciting to every visitor. Las Vegas is more than just a city of gambling and extravagance; it's a living, breathing entity that evolves with each passing year. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, there's always something captivating and novel waiting to be discovered in the City of Sin. As I reflect on my two decades of exploring Las Vegas, I am filled with gratitude for the memories, the stories, and the ever-changing spirit of this iconic destination. Here's to the next twenty years of adventures in the neon-lit oasis of Las Vegas! Travel Advice For Different Countries Around The World

BY  Abdul Aziz Mar 18, 2021

When it comes to international travel, it's critical to have a well-thought-out plan for preparation and how to conduct yourself while on holiday. There are so many possibilities for experiencing different tourist hot spots across the globe-; even more than you might experience traveling to the different states across the US. And for the most part, you can expect relatively standard foods, laws, and language across continental America. Imagine how much more variety you can expect traveling outside our borders. The following is a list of useful tips from i49 that will help you prepared for international travel no matter the specific destination: Travel Visa: It's not only your passport that you need to start processing well in advance of your trip. Many countries require a travel visa for US citizens who are planning to visit. Even our neighbors to the south, Mexico, require a visa if the expected stay will be more than 72 hours or too far inland from the border. Every sovereign country has the right to establish its own requirements, so with every country, you expect to add to your agenda, check for the most current visa requirements. The last thing you want is to spend your valuable vacation time stuck in customs. Vaccinations: While you're looking up logistical information, look to see if there are any recommended vaccinations. Our bodies are very accustomed to life as we know it. When we venture outside our everyday experience, we may encounter diseases or sicknesses that our body is just not well-suited to fight off. This is another effort that you can't afford to wait till the last minute. Some vaccinations may require a series over a prescribed amount of time, so you'll need to count back from your intended travel dates to be sure you meet this health goal if you intend to inoculate yourself. Currency Exchange: Most places you visit will expect you to use the local currency. Some of the more popular tourist attractions worldwide may accept your US Dollar, but it's easier just to pad your wallet with the local currency. The exchange rates fluctuate constantly, and the various vendors who offer the service of making the conversion also may vary their fees significantly. The easiest and most affordable way to gather foreign currency is at a bank or by using the local ATM. As long as you're not visiting a third-world locale, there's a good chance that you'll be able to use your credit card for most purchases. If this is your plan, give your credit card company a heads up so that your international charges don't inadvertently trigger a precautionary freeze on your ability to make changes.  Culture: What is considered normal in one place could be considered offensive in another. Do some research to learn what the norms of politeness are for where you are going. There are many travel blogs, travel guides, and websites out there with lots of suggestions on conducting yourself in an international company. Not only will this enhance the experience among the local populace, but it will also bode well for any other American travelers who may travel to the same location. Basically, making an effort to conform to the local culture is a universal way of communicating respect for the hosting country. You need to plan and prepare so many things when it comes to any vacation travel but even more so with international excursions. These reminders should help to make you're planning a bit easier as you navigate these considerations. Bon Voyage!
