Trip ideas

It’s almost that time of year. Temperatures are rising, plants are blooming and riders everywhere are getting ready to get back out on the trail. ATV riding season varies based on the location and local climate, but it usually begins shortly before Memorial Day and lasts until mid to late September. But you need to do some prep work before taking your off-road vehicle for a spin. It’s likely been several months since your last adventure, and your vehicle and safety equipment needs to be inspected to make sure it’s safe to ride. Prepare for spring ATV riding with these essential tips:

1. Inspect Your Bike

Hopefully, you cleaned off your ATV before you stowed it away for the winter. Excess moisture can lead to rust and other structural damage. Rodents and other pests can also wreak havoc on your equipment. Inspect the vehicle thoroughly for warning signs that it needs to be repaired. Tighten the chain and/or belt, replace any broken wires, and refill/change your fluids, including the oil, transmission, and coolant. Pump the tires and look for weak spots that could leave you stranded with a flat. Cold weather can also damage the battery. Power it on and check the various electrical inputs to make sure it’s working properly. You can also test the power output to see if the battery needs to be replaced. If the vehicle is in need of repair or you’re not sure if it is safe to ride, take it to a mechanic for some peace of mind.

2. Stay Connected

Everyone needs to wear a helmet when riding. Give your safety equipment a once-over as well. Your helmet should still fit and stay securely attached to your head. Some materials can shrink in the cold, which could affect the fit and your comfort level. Inspect the chin strap for damage. And try it on to make sure it still attaches. Watch out for rips or holes in your gloves, boots, and clothing. These items will only last so long before they lose their protective qualities. Stock up on ATV riding gear to get everything you need to stay safe on the trail.

Pair your helmet with an off-road communication device to stay connected to the other members of your group. You can communicate hands-free while you focus on navigating uneven terrain. Don’t worry about resetting the device when you fall behind. It will automatically reconnect to your companions when you are in range, so you can keep the conversation going. Use this technology to safely navigate to your destination and avoid using hand signals that can distract you from the task at hand.

3. Find Your Spot

There are strict limits in terms of where you can ride your ATV. Every state has its own ATV riding laws. You typically don’t need a license to operate the vehicle, but you usually need to be at least 18 years old. Riding on public streets is typically illegal unless you have installed certain safety features, such as lights, mirrors, and a turn signal. Plan your route in advance to make sure you know where you’re going. Contact the park or landowner to find out if it is safe/permissible to ride. You may need a permit in some areas, while others may charge a slight fee.

The changing weather can also be a concern. Some trails and roads may still be iced over. There could also be flooding as temperatures continue to rise. Many parts of the country are warming faster than usual, which is causing water levels to rise.

Have a paper map of the area on hand and mark your route beforehand to stay prepared.

4. Dress For The Occasion

Plan out what you’re going to wear on the trip as well. The temperature can easily go from chilly to warm and back again in a matter of hours. Wear a light moisture-wicking layer that will absorb the sweat so you don’t get drenched during your ride. Keep an extra layer or two on your person in case it starts to get cold again. Keep your skin covered to protect yourself from the sun, trees and pests. You may want to wear a backpack in case you need to change your clothes mid-trip.

With spring comes April showers. Have a waterproof jacket on hand to stay dry in the rain. And avoid areas that might be prone to flooding to make sure you can get back the way you came.

5. Prepare For The Unexpected

Overall, spring riding means dealing with the unexpected. The weather can change on a dime and excess moisture can make for slick riding conditions. Sudden snowstorms can down trees and render some areas of the trail impassable. Nature is full of surprises, so remember to keep your eyes out for anything unusual. Keep in touch with the landowner or park ranger to stay abreast of any changes in the environment that might affect your trip. Use your wireless headset to communicate with your companions so you can avoid areas that might not be worth the risk.

Get Ready To Ride

’Tis the season to get back on your ATV. Use these tips to prepare your vehicle for the ultimate outdoor adventure and make this year’s ATV riding season the best one yet.

You can also get chocolates or flowers delivered to your partner in the hotel room. Just look for a unique or new thing that will add life to your honeymoon. It can be more interesting if you understand what interests your partner the most and stick to his or her desires. 5. Choose a Bed and Breakfast This tip is for those planning a honeymoon on their own. Instead of staying in a traditional hotel, book a bed and breakfast. You will feel more pampered as these places are small and intimate.  The host will take care of even the minutest need and make the two of you feel more special. 6. Plan Some Treats at the Airport You could be flying economy, but you can pre-book an airport lounge that will allow you to escape the crowded terminal.  It can help you to get free snacks and drinks, comfy armchairs, and newspapers. The choice you make depends on the airline that you are flying. 7. Check In Early You need to avoid a last-minute rush by leaving plenty of time to check in. Gone are the days when you would find airlines upgrading honeymooners. You may find yourself sitting in a different location with your spouse because of delays in booking your flight. Therefore, do your due diligence because little can be done late, even if you are a honeymooner. You can check for the latest shopping and dining opportunities once you are done checking in. 8. Prepare a Honeymoon List Study for the best ideas on the available wedding gift lists. Instead of getting crockery and cutlery, you can request your guests to treat you to romantic add-ons and help you pay for your honeymoon.  Therefore, you can request your friends and relatives to contribute toward your honeymoon package. There are several places that can help you to learn more about wedding gift ideas. 9. Upgrade Your Transfers Upgrading your transfers will be my honeymoon travel guide for you. Instead of getting a regular minibus or taxi from the airport to the hotel, you can either upgrade to a speedboat or limousine. I have also seen some people book a helicopter transfer.  It is a fast and efficient way to move to your preferred honeymoon location. The cost will vary depending on the service provider that you choose and the distance. 10. Book a Special Room Most hotels have various categories of rooms. For instance, you may upgrade to a suite if you want rooms that are worth and truly special for your honeymoon.  You can use people who have been to these destinations previously to give you some of the best ideas for special rooms. You will need a place that will give you an uninterrupted experience. 11. Do Not Stay in One Place When you have a two-centered honeymoon, you will get the best from the destination. You will also have so many memories to carry home. You can try a beach-plus safari combination or island hopping. It is good to see the various sides of your honeymoon destination. Most experiences are two worlds apart, even if they are just a few minutes’ drive away. You can also get married on one Island and spend your honeymoon on another. 12. Get the Right Combination If you are going for a two-center honeymoon, make sure you know the best way to combine it. It is a mistake to book a relaxation or adventure combo but leave out the relaxation slice until the end. It’s advisable to start by organizing for a relaxation time to help you combat the post-wedding exhaustion.  It is a magical thing to head off for a safari. However, we don’t recommend newlyweds expose themselves to frighteningly early starts and alarm calls. You can do some tropical beach to get alerts and charge for the days that you will be in the bush. 13. Inform the Hotel If the staff at the hotel are aware that you are on honeymoon, they may request that you be upgraded to a better room. Most five-star hotels will put chocolates, a bottle of champagne, and flowers in the room upon your arrival.  You may also get some extras like the complimentary private candlelit dinner as long as you make them aware. Even the low-grade hotels try to add some extra touch, especially if you have some imagination or care. Ask them what they can do as you plan your booking and gauge their reaction. 14. No Need to Over-do it You may find yourself planning so much for a trip that happens once in a lifetime. Make sure you take your time while planning for your honeymoon. Most honeymooners find themselves moving so fast because they want to get the best from their destination. Remember, the buildup of your wedding will make you exhausted. You will also experience jet lags, and hence, you need to leave some time for leisure. You need to take time to soak up all that took place in the past few weeks or months and recover fully. 15. Book for a First-Night Restaurant If you are on a first night away, book a romantic dinner table together. It may sound simple, but it is an essential element for the perfect honeymoon. In most hotels, people book these services in advance. Therefore, it is good to go for early reservations so as to prepare your table in advance. 16. Book a Spa Treatment for Couples Even if you are not a fanatic of spas, it is good to venture into the hotel spa if there is one. These spas have come on bounds and leaps over the past few years. It is an indulging journey where you can begin with the side-by-side treatment before going for a pedal-strewn bath for the two of you. Some of the hotels offer private suites for couples to help them enjoy champagne. These suites also give couples enough space and time to relax around treatments. Do some research, and you will find something that will meet your needs with a high level of precision. Summing up our honeymoon travel guide, I must say that you should look for a tour operator who can plan a customized vacation for you. This way, you will be saved from the hassle of arranging everything independently and can focus more on wedding planning.  Honeymoon Travel Guide | Best Places To Visit With Your Spouse (Instagram Favorites) With millions (billions?) of Instagram hashtags of “Honeymoon,” the social media platform shapes the romantic interludes of Gen Z and Millennial couples. Spring is the perfect time to embark on a journey with your loved ones to explore new and exciting summer destinations that cater to your preferences and needs. While traveling can be an exciting and enriching experience, it is important to take proper care of your eyes to ensure a stress-free trip. Your eyes may be exposed to a variety of stressors, including different environments, climates, and long flights, which can affect your vision and ruin your vacation. To ensure that you have an enjoyable trip without worrying about your eye health, read below! Tips To Take Care Of Your Eyes During Vacation! We have got the best tips for you in order to have a healthy vision on your trips and have the best time of your life! Pre-trip eye exam Prior to traveling, it's important to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist. They can examine your eye health and provide recommendations on how to protect your eyes from any potential risks you may encounter while traveling. They can also ensure that your glasses or contact lenses prescription is up-to-date to avoid any discomfort or vision issues during your trip. So, add to your calendar this appointment with your optician and you are not going to regret it at all. Polarized sunglasses Moreover, sunglasses are a must-have accessory for anyone traveling to sunny destinations. However, not all sunglasses provide the same level of protection. It's important to invest in polarized sunglasses that are designed to block harmful UV rays. Polarized sunglasses are known to reduce glare as well as improve the clarity of vision. This makes them an excellent choice for anyone who loves outdoor activities. Rest your eyes Of course, long flights or road trips can be exhausting, and staring at a screen or reading a book for an extended period of time can cause eye strain and headaches. To prevent this, take a break every hour or so and close your eyes or look at something in the distance. This will give your eyes a chance to rest and reduce the risk of developing eye strain. Stay hydrated As you might already know about eye health, the fact is that dehydration can cause dry eyes, and being on a long flight or train ride can exacerbate this issue. To prevent this, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout your trip. Drinking enough water can also help to reduce the risk of developing eye infections, especially if you wear contact lenses. Eye drops Last but not least, dry eyes can also be caused by environmental factors, such as air conditioning, heating, or pollution. In these situations, artificial tears or lubricating eye drops can help to keep your eyes moist and comfortable. It's important to pack these drops in your carry-on luggage, especially if you're traveling to a dry or polluted area. This way you will not feel your eyes to be itchy or hurting, you will feel ready to embark on this new adventure! Keep Contact Lenses Handy It is very important that you are able to take care of your prescribed contact lenses if you have any, when you are on your trip. Ensure that you are taking them off in regular intervals and keeping them in the safe and prescribed space with the solution. While it is true that you may not get everything at hand all the time, ensure that you are carrying the lens solution with you all the time. Avoid using other substitutes like water in this case. Carry extra pair It is important that you are carrying an extra pair of eye care all the time when you are on your trip. Have you ever considered what might happen if you lose your prescription medicine or your medicated sunglasses when you are on vacation? Well, if that is something that you want to avoid it is important that you always carry an extra set of lenses, glasses, and your eye medicines with you. Avoid or use minimal eye-makeup Last but not least on this list is the fact that it is important you are not using a lot of eye makeup when you are on your trip. These things attract and trap or retain a lot of dust and dirt. This might make it difficult for you to have an enjoyable trip at the end of the day. It is also best to avoid using too much eye makeup as this may cause a risk of an eye infection. Travel Tips to Help You Out In Asia

BY  Sharmita Jan 18, 2018

Asia has seen a considerable rise in travel and tourism in the last decade. They have finally taken the tourism business seriously. This has been implemented to such an extent that even countries like China have opened up their gates for the foreigners not only for travel but also for business and academic activities. However, Asia, as a travel destination, is a new place for many travel aspirants. Especially for the American citizens for whom, Asian destinations are quite famous these days. There is more than one reason for this. Firstly, most of the Asian countries as destinations are cheaper than their European counterparts. Further, Asia has always been a land of mystery for most of them through their experience of reading the childhood fantasy stories. Thus, an Asian trip for the Americans has always been a different experience. This has made sure that the traffic from America to Asia has received a major boost in the last decade or so. Nevertheless, the first-timers must know certain things regarding the continent before setting off for travel. Research regarding the regulations of the places Off late there has been changes in visa regulations in quite a few countries. Like in China, huge changes have been implemented making the visa regulations easier but different from what used to be. Thus, it is essential to know regarding the existing rules to avoid any hazard during the tour. Further, most of the Asian countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months in order to provide you with an entry visa. Thus, you might be in serious trouble if the validity of your passport is not looked after well ahead of travel. 1. Know regarding the ATMs in advance: These days in Asia, you would seldom come across a place where you would not find an ATM. Then, there would be odd places where there would not be an ATM to help you out. Thus, research regarding the place in a proper manner before you set out for a journey, as it is better to know which place requires you to carry cash and which place does not. 2. Avoid purchasing SIM cards:  Most of the Asian countries are reputed for free Wi-Fi. You would normally find complementary free Wi-Fi services in the hotels you put up in. Thus, it is no longer worthy to buy a SIM card while traveling to the Asian countries these days. Not that the Sim cards would cost you a huge amount, but why spend even a single buck if you Can get your job done for free. 3. Have knowledge regarding the cab fares:  Cab fares might be an important issue in Asia. It is better to do some research regarding the existing cab fares for the places you have planned to travel before reaching the places. If you are ignorant regarding them, there are chances of the drivers robbing you with amounts much higher than the actual rates. 4. Having US$ always helps:  Nothing is better than the possession of the local currency of the place you are traveling. This is applicable not only for an Asian travel but also all the places around the world. However, remember that in most of the Asian countries, along with their local currency, US$ is also accepted. Thus, as US travelers, there would not be much problem if you are carrying US$ with you. 5. Always possess toilet papers and hand sanitizers:  There would not be many places where you would get either toilet papers or hand sanitizers for use in the public toilets. Thus, it is always a healthy habit to carry both in your backpack while traveling through Asia. 6. Maintain your calm:  When you are travelling a foreign country, never ever get into a tussle with any of the inmates of any country which so ever. Remember that the natives of those countries would always support their fellow citizens. On the hind side, it is always a good idea to learn a few phrases in their native tongue like a hello or a thank you. Finally, we can come to the conclusion that every country has their habits and their own set of cultures. Thus, it is always good to travel to a particular place not only for enjoyment but also to have a bit of their culture so that the experience transcends to something that can be cherished for a lifetime.
