Viaan Patel from Vadodara, Gujarat, a young boy, aged nine, has made India proud after climbing the 14,000 ft. Gadsar Pass located in the Himalayas. He has now become the youngest in Gujarat to achieve this. Inspired by his father, who has climbed many mountains like Mount Abu and Pavagadh, Viaan started climbing mountains from a very young age. He started accompanying his father when he was just two years old. In a conversation with Times of India, Viaan mentioned it was one of the best experiences I ever had. I had never climbed to such a height, so there were some nervous moments. It is only natural for a boy of such a young age to be scared about this difficult trek. By recent estimates, about 40 people are killed, and many are still missing due to the heavy rain and flash floods. For the past three days, these flash floods are triggered by heavy monsoon clouds.  The flood and rain washed hundreds of villages, mud houses, bridges and roads in places of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.  More heavy rain is predicted for the next two days, predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department. If you are located anywhere in Eastern India, then Darjeeling is one name you must have heard while growing up. A favourite vacation spot for Bongs across the country, there is no best time to visit Darjeeling. I mean, you can definitely go during Summer like most bongs to escape the heat. But be prepared to encounter lots of other tourists, long queues outside restaurants, and even probable ticket cancellations. Instead, you can choose to be a little more adventurous and maybe consider travelling to Darjeeling during the latter half of the year and witness something magical like some snow (but only if you are very lucky). Keep reading to find out how I witnessed the most beautiful snow of all time. Exploring The Unexplored: Screw The Itinerary Are you still wondering what is the best time to visit Darjeeling? There are two ways to go about it - either you could visit like most of the country during Summer or drop in during the winter months for a crowd-free experience. The first thing that I did once I set foot at Darjeeling was screwing the itinerary. I remember that we had a plan to visit the Auli tourist places but could not get the cable car. It was so as if we were on a Joshimath and went late to the base camp. So, the plan ultimately got postponed to the next morning. Now, the best thing that happened to us was the dawn. It is cloudy and a few drizzles occurred too. While we were in the cable car, we got some awesome views of the place. The same place had something different for me when I reached this place in my twenties. It was early November and the place was covered with virgin snow. According to the locals, it was not something uncommon but the place looked like heaven. The sky was deep blue and I could get a breathtaking view of the Nanda Devi. So, I can say, the best time to visit Auli Uttarakhand can be the late autumn and winter.
