Chili's Grill & Bar: One of our favorite American chain restaurants serving Mediterranean food is Chili’s Grill & Bar. Yes, it’s not a traditional Mediterranean restaurant, but we love their classic American and Tex-Mex fare served in southwestern style. Review By Christine Lal: I love the service here! The robot Rita was a nice touch! The drinks were perfectly made, and the food came out Hot, Hot, Hot! We came during lunch on a Saturday, and there was plenty of space, and we were seated immediately. Please do try the Margarita!! 2. Mercato Della Pescheria Las Vegas: While the San Francisco Mediterranean restaurants are mostly well known for their chic dining rooms, Mercato Della Pescheria Las Vegas is no less. A stylish, chic dining room where guests can enjoy Italian plates, seafood, cocktails, select wines, and beer - sounds like a gastronomic dream! Review By Volker Kueffel: Located on the "St. Mark's Square" inside the Venetian, this is a great lunch option. Not too expensive, has tasty food and very friendly service. I went for a light lunch this time and had a Cesar's Salad and Tomato Mozzarella. Both are pretty good, you also get bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which is always a great start. 3. Hedary's Mediterranean Restaurant Las Vegas: One of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Vegas, Hedary's Mediterranean Restaurant Las Vegas, serves several vegetarian dishes, delicious roasted lamb, and mouthwatering kebabs. We loved their simple, functional atmosphere! Review By Abdul M. Massoud: Well, I’m a Chef. I teach Mediterranean cooking classes at The University of Utah. This is the best lamb chop and baba ghanoush I have had since I moved to the states 7 years back! It’s really delicious, authentic, a genuine family restaurant that is hard to find these days. We always go there for dinner. Casual atmosphere and good service. 5. Maza Mediterranean & Turkish Halal Grill: If you are a fan of traditional Turkish food and charcoal-grilled kebabs, then you have to check out Maza Mediterranean & Turkish Halal Grill. Another one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants, we love that it's family-owned and has such a fun, casual vibe. Review By Muntazar Alsaegh: The place is very nice, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The appetizers were fine but not the best. The Quzi was great, the rice was cooked well, and the meat was very tender and full of flavor. I am not from Las Vegas, so I don’t know if these are their normal prices, but I find their prices to be a bit above average. 6. Paymon's Fresh Kitchen And Lounge - Sahara: Do you love restaurants that come with plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices? Then Paymon's Fresh Kitchen and Lounge - Sahara is perfect for you - they have a crazy range of Mediterranean options on the menu. This includes plenty of vegetarian dishes. Plus, you can enjoy some hookah here as well. Review By Kristin Edwards: The food at Paymon’a was fresh and delicious! The presentation was nice, and the atmosphere of the whole place was very welcoming. The best thing, though, was the service we received. Our server was a very nice young guy whose name sadly escaped me. I will definitely go back for more! 7. Parsley Modern Mediterranean: Parsley Modern Mediterranean is a counter-serve eatery that serves really tasty falafel, kabobs, shawarma, other Mediterranean staples, and some great vegetarian options. We loved their food and had so much fun eating locally. Review By Trigga Dro: Came Here to Grab A Shawarma Wrap, but Ended Up Getting the Basmati Bowl With Steak and Chicken. Got The Works. My Wife Got The Same, but She Got The Chicken Kabob as Her Protein instead. I Would say of Gave given It 5 Stars if it wasn't for a Mandatory 15 Min Wait for 1 Kabob of Chicken. Other than that, It Was The Best Meal That Day. Definitely Coming Back ??? 8. Amena Mediterranean Café And Bakery: Are you a fan of Mediterranean food in Pasadena? Then you must check out Amena Mediterranean café And Bakery. They serve tasty homemade hummus, pitas, and other Middle Eastern favorites in an easygoing, colorful environment. Review By Agnes Williams: I accidentally ran into this place, and my husband had never had a Mediterranean dish before. We both love the service, and the food is tasty. I would definitely come back to this place. I also bought a bag of dry chickpeas so I can make the falafel at home. Best I've ever done because it tasted soooo good. 9. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill: Another favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Las Vegas, you have to check out The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. We can vouch for them, and if you don’t believe us, then that’s fine because they have got crazy guest reviews on Google! Review By Kimber Ferm: Absolutely delicious. What Are The Unique Things To Do In San Marcos For Kids And Adults? (A 2027 Guide)

BY Sibashree Feb 9, 2023

Like many visitors, I almost missed San Marcos.  It is a stop on I-35, and it is easy to drive past it on the way between Austin and San Antonio.  However, every time I am in Texas, I plan a day around it.  I love the spring-fed river, the century-old cave, and the honky-tonk that launched a country legend. So, in this article, I will talk about the things to do in San Marcos along with some other details.   San Marcos At A Glance DetailWhat to knowLocationRoughly 30 miles south of Austin and 40 miles north of San Antonio (San Marcos Chamber)River temperatureAbout 72°F year-round (Visit San Marcos)Glass-bottom boat$12 adults, $10 seniors, and $8 children 3–12Lions Club tubing$25 per tube with unlimited shuttle Outlet shopping200+ stores, and they have about 14 million visitors a year.2025 visitor spending$208.7 million, supporting about 2,600 local jobs (Visit San Marcos, May 2026). What’s New In San Marcos And Worth Knowing For 2027? If you are planning around the springs 2027, you need to know two updates.  The Meadows Center has scheduled maintenance closures on January 11–15, 2027, and August 18, 2027.  Since February 2026, day parking permits bought at the kiosk carry a 10% service fee, So, you must use the AMP Park app instead. Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park is scaling back its schedule. Its homepage currently advertises opening on Fridays and weekends, so book a tour time before driving out. If you like spectacle, the Texas Water Safari is worth timing a trip around. The 260-mile canoe race begins on the second Saturday of June. In 2027, that is June 12, weather permitting. Confirm with the organizers. Best Things To Do In San Marcos With Kids Kids do best in San Marcos when the day mixes water, animals, and something a little strange.  These are the three activities you must try with them.  Meadows Center Glass-Bottom Boat Tour This is the first thing I book.  The 30-minute tour of Spring Lake shows the lakebed, plants, animals, and the springs themselves through a glass panel.  The boats are a piece of local history, since they’ve been running since 1945. The lake is an ecological treasure.  It holds eight federally listed endangered or threatened species.  Grounds access is free and includes a self-guided wetlands boardwalk. Also, the on-site aquarium has free admission.  Note that winter hours run 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the last boat leaves 30 minutes before closing. Wonder World Cave And Adventure Park Wonder World is a ready-made family half-day.  The guided cave tour visits the nation’s only true earthquake-formed cave.  Above ground, you get the Anti-Gravity House, a train ride, and a petting park with deer and goats.  However, strollers are not allowed on tours, and the cave and Anti-Gravity House are not wheelchair accessible.  River Tubing For Beginners For young kids, I would pick the Lions Club float over the longer trips.  It takes about 45 minutes to an hour, versus about three hours with Texas State Tubes or Don’s Fish Camp. Here’s how the three compare. OutfitterCostFloat lengthLions Club Tube Rental$25/tube and $15 for shuttle if you bring your own.About 1 hourTexas State Tubes$30 rental and $10 for ages 7–12Free for 6 and under (life jackets required)About 3 hoursDon’s Fish Camp$30, or $19 with your own tubeAbout 3 hours Safety matters here because there are no lifeguards on duty. Put life jackets on non-swimmers. Discovering the Mermaid Art Trail San Marcos proudly celebrates its title as the Mermaid Capital of Texas through a whimsical, city-wide public art project.  Keep an eye out for the Mermaid March, a trail of ten 7-foot-tall fiberglass mermaid statues scattered across the city.  Each statue is individually hand-painted by a local artist to showcase different aspects of San Marcos's history, culture, and environmental preservation efforts.  It makes for a fantastic, free scavenger hunt. It also bridges the gap between downtown shopping and the river, offering perfect photo backdrops while highlighting the community’s deep creative roots and love for its pristine waters. Best Things To Do In San Marcos For Adults Adults get the same river, plus music and shopping that make an evening out of it. Cheatham Street Warehouse If you love Texas music, this is the pilgrimage. Kent Finlay and Jim Cunningham opened the club in June 1974.  George Strait’s band played its first show there on October 13, 1975.  The venue is now overseen by country star Randy Rogers and still hosts weekly songwriter circles. I’d check the calendar and pair a show with dinner downtown. Paddle Or Snorkel Spring Lake For something quieter than tubing, the Meadows Center offers guided kayak and SUP tours, limited to paddlers aged 12 and up.  Because the lake is so protected, this is among the few chances to be on the water at the springs’ source. The Outlets The adjacent Tanger Outlets and San Marcos Premium Outlets are consistently ranked among the state’s most popular tourist attractions.  I go on weekday mornings to skip the crowds. A Sample One-Day Itinerary In San Marcos TimeActivityBest for9:30 AMGlass-bottom boat and wetlands boardwalk. All ages11:30 AMLunch downtownEveryone1:00 PMLions Club river floatFamilies, first-timers3:30 PMWonder World cave tour (check hours)Kids, geology fans7:30 PMLive music at Cheatham Street WarehouseAdults Tips For A Visit To San Marcos (As I Learned From Multiple Visits) You take four simple yet smart measures if you want to save money for a trip to San Marcos.  Visit it early in the day as tubing crowds become dense by mid-morning. Also, the boats and caves are calmer before noon.  Also, reserve ahead for Wonder World and the boats on weekends and holidays. Furthermore, check the dates of big events such as the Water Safari and holiday weekends push up demand. Also, budget for parking, especially if you are visiting the Meadows Center.  Is San Marcos Worth It In 2027? Yes, a visit to San Marcos is worth it in 2027.  Tourism is a real economic engine here. The 2025 visitor spending reached $208.7 million and supported about 2,600 jobs.  The town has also earned its identity, since the Texas legislature named it the Mermaid Capital of Texas in 2021.  So, come for the water, and stay for the music.

What Are The Best Places In Sicily To Visit? Don’t Miss These Top Attractions

BY Sibashree Feb 6, 2023

A lot has changed in the tourism landscape of Sicily over the last few years. It has been over 10 years now since the Aran Norman architecture of Palermo became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  As expected, the designation has prompted a tourism boom in the area. According to the Commune di Palermo data, tourism in Sicily saw a boom by 15% just between the period of 2022-23. Again, the recent Istat data says that tourist presence has improved in 2025, and it has been 17.3 million compared to 16.4 million last year.  Also, thanks to the “Touristfiction of the City,” the unorganized worker segment of the city is expecting an employment boom.  Again, with projects such as the “Discovering Rural Sicily,” Sicily is ready to showcase its year-round attractions.  So, in the upcoming years, we are expecting a good mix of the evergreen landmarks and upcoming attractions in the best places in Sicily to visit.  Why Is Sicily A Major Tourism Hub?  The Baroque towns and rugged landscape of Sicily have made it a chosen destination for many celebrated movies, including the cult classic The Godfather trilogy.  In fact. Modern-day blockbusters such as Aquaman and Indiana Jones were shot here. So, Sicily is now a part of pop culture.  Furthermore, with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Agrigento's Temples, the Arab-Norman circuit in Palermo, Cefalù, Mount Etna, Syracuse, etc. Also, the eclectic influences on Sicilian culture, Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman, have helped Sicily earn the nickname “Italy without being Italian.”  Its location at the crossroads of Asia and Africa has further bolstered its position as a major tourism hub.  Moreover, Sicily is the biggest and most prominent island in the Mediterranean Sea and an autonomous part of Italy.  It is located south of the Italian Peninsula and north of Africa and is known for its rich history, various civilizations, and astonishing natural beauty. In addition, Sicily offers something for everyone with its gorgeous shores, energetic cities, and picturesque countryside.  Whether you’re pursuing adventure, relaxation, or a taste of Italy’s villas, this spectacular island is the ideal destination for your next vacation. What Are The Best Places In Sicily To Visit?  Sicily has taken active measures to promote the lesser-trodden areas. For example, the Discovering Rural Sicily is the project that is working to boost tourism in the inland areas of more than 50 municipalities.  As a result, the Peloritani mountains, Belice, and Terra Barocca are some lesser-known attractions emerging as the best places in Sicily to visit.  So, choose your favorite among the following best places in Sicily to visit.  1. Palermo: The Iconic Arab-Norman Zone Palermo, the capital of Sicily, was the base for my trip to Sicily. In this capital city of Sicily, tourism is not about experiencing the history or exploring the Arab-Norman Zone.  It is also about understanding the way of life.  I have seen how tourism is a monoculture here. At the same time, the unemployment rate is very high in Sicily, around 30% in comparison to the rate of 16.6 percent nationally (Source: The Equal Times).  So, people here have to find work in the tourism sector.  Nevertheless, amidst the combination of Arab, Norman, and Byzantine architecture, the Cathedral of Palermo stands. Palazzo dei Normanni and Ponte dell'Ammiraglio were the highlights for me.  Furthermore, Mondello Beach, a magnificent stretch of sand and crystal-clear waters, is ideal for soaking up the Sun or swimming. Also, as the Sicilian capital, Palermo has a rich history. From a trading post in the Phoenician era (734 BC–254 BC) to gaining its status as the regional capital of Sicily, Palermo has come a long way.  Palermo: History And Important Timelines  EraTimelineHistory of PalermoPhoenician/Carthaginian Era734 BC-254 BC- It was known as Panormos or All Port- The Greeks established Palermo as a trading post. - Moreover, it was the primary Carthaginian military base. Roman and Byzantine Rule254 BC-831 AD- The Romans captured it in the First Punic War. - Then, it was a Romanized Municipium. - Then, it fell down to vandals and further rose to fame during the Byzantine era. The Arab Emirate831 AD to 1072 AD- It became equivalent to Cairo and Córdoba in glory.- Also, it became the capital of Sicily. Norman Kingdom1072-1194 AD- It became a multicultural capital with landmarks such as the Arab-Norman art and architecture.Swabian, Angevin, and Aragonese Rule1194–16th Century- The Swabian Hohenstaufen Emperor Frederick II took over. - Then, French (Angevin) and Spanish (Aragonese) rulers took charge. Spanish and Bourbon Rule16th Century to 1860- Palermo saw a long period of viceroy rule in this era. - Furthermore, it was succeeded by the Bourbon kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Italian Unification1860 to Present - Garibaldi’s Expedition of the Thousand in 1860 brought Palermo into the newly formed Kingdom of Italy. - Now, it serves the role of the regional capital of Sicily.  2. Noto: Baroque Architecture And Great Food  Many people know Noto as a UNESCO World Heritage Site or the capital of the Baroque-style architecture in Sicily.  However, once you visit Noto, you will also understand that it is one of the best places in Sicily to try pasta and other local food.  Furthermore, the local pastry shops here are amazing.  Also, the city has a history that goes back to the time when Troy fell.  Now, as they say, when something great ends, something amazing also begins.  However, the building of Noto never got the same attention as the Fall of Troy, as we did not romanticize the former in history, literature, or movies as we did for the latter.  That brings us to the history of Noto.  From Neas To Noto: How The City Evolved  Noto was earlier known as Neas. The Sicilian population built it during the Fall of Troy.  It was on the Mendola Hill, and it became a gymnasium, and it adopted all the Hellenic customs when the conquerors of Syracuse took it over.  Then came the Romans, who made it a federated city and Latin municipium. So, the city had its own rules.  Furthermore, the city was under the Arabic and Muslim rule for around 200 years after it surrendered to Roger.  The Earthquake Of Noto And Resurrection  Noto was hit by a massive earthquake in 1693. However, Paolo Labisi, Vincenzo Sinatra, and Rosario Gagliardi were the three main artists behind the resurrection of the city.  They created a beautiful fusion of the Baroque, neoclassical, Spanish, and Renaissance styles.  The City Of Noto And Its Attractions  You will see the Triumphal Arch if you enter Noto from the east. Furthermore, from there, you will reach Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the heart of the city.  The Ferdinand of Bourbon inaugurated this monument in 1838. It has three sculptures.  The Tower represents power, while the Pelican stands for sacrifice, and the dog symbolizes loyalty.  Furthermore, Noto’s primary street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, is lined with exquisite constructions, including the Cathedral of Noto, an exceptional example of the baroque style. Some other places to visit in this city are Piazza Immacolata, “Church of San Francesco all’Immacolata,” the Franciscan convent, the Church of Santa Chiara, etc.  3.
