They are some of Australia's biggest resources for economic development and growth regarding global recognition.   Not just tourists but also locals love going to these beaches; surfers, scuba divers, swimmers, and other water sports are available. Here, I will share with you the different elements surrounding some of the top beaches in Sydney, along with how the coastal stretch of sand offers you a beautiful overall experience.   Top 10 Beaches In Sydney You MUST VISIT! When you visit Sydney, you will see that there are dozens of beaches in and around it! With its huge coastline, it is a perfect haven for beach lovers and surfers. Why don't you read the blog as I prepare a list of the top 10 beaches you must visit when in Sydney? Starting from busy beaches like Bondi and Bronte, remote beaches like Manly Beach offer solitude. With all the activities and eating places spread across you, you will not only relax but also make beautiful memories. Just like beaches in Melbourne, these beaches will create beautiful memories for you! Apart from having the individual experience, you also learn to make memories by taking the beautiful visuals that nature creates on these beaches! Don't forget to take that beach photo in your hot pink bikini or flaunt your white floral dress while enjoying the sunset! Bondi Beach You must check out Bondi Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Australia; there is plenty to do and see. It is a busy beach when it comes to people enjoying the place for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. The beach is quite central to Sydney's business. You must visit this beach if you want to experience the best of Australia. There are several restaurants, from bakeries to trendy cafes like Rockers, in the Bondi market, along with local crafts, art, vintage pieces, and handmade jewelry shops. Of course, we all know about the restaurants in Australia serving delicious food! You can enjoy decadent lunches, cocktails, and delicious dishes in places like Panama House. It is the perfect place for family, friends, solo, and partners! Coogee Beach This beach is a perfect place to snorkel and swim. It has a 400-meter length of soft sand combined with beautiful water. Near this beach, there are several parks and historic buildings to explore. A 6km trail leads from Bondi Beach to Coogee Trail along the coast. You can check out rock pools at the end of the beach! There are also Ladies Baths and Wylies Bath to the south of the beach for your convenience if you take a dip. This place is quite popular among families, especially because there is a lot of space for the children to run around. Freshwater Beach You must travel to the northern region of Sydney to reach Freshwater Beach, a hub of different types of activities! From playing with your family members on the sand to surfing and swimming, this region is perfect for a day on the beach! At the north end of the beach, there is a rock pool where you can practice your swimming laps! It is also a perfect place to have your picnic and barbeque parties. It is also a place for the people from the nearby reserve to use as their playground and enjoy their get-together parties. Bronte Beach Bronte Beach is a picnic spot in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. There are adjacent parks where you can have barbeque activities, shaded areas to hang out with friends and family, and a playground where your children can play. There are several spectacular rock pools right on the southern headland that you can access without paying any extra charge. You can check out the veggie burgers and homemade cakes at the Bogey Hole Cafe if you are a foodie. Another popular restaurant in that area is Three Blue Ducks, which modernizes Australian lunches and breakfasts! The waves of this place are a little rockier, so be careful when surfing, especially if you are a beginner. Marley Beach A heavenly abode, you can hang in solitude by strolling across the sands. If you visit this beach, it is worth the effort, especially because of the wild beauty of this beach, its rolling dunes, and cliffs. It creates a blend of crystal-clear waters and dunes, a passionate vision worth a visit. There is no shortage of the things to do in Australia! To reach Marley Beach, you must walk about 4.5 kilometers along the scenic coastal path across the Bundeena trail. The beach is a further 20 minutes' walk. It is not for you from this trail, so if you are not a fan of hiking or trekking. I want to warn you about the strong currents on this beach; hence, it is not quite safe to go swimming! Tamarama Beach I suggest you visit this beach in late October because they are organizing a sculpture during the sea festival. Remember that this beach is just a few hundred meters away from Bronte Beach; therefore, you can easily walk here as the sand is silky and soft. The waves at this beach are amazing, and if you are a surfer, this is the place for you. There is also a park surrounding this area, so you can visit this place if you are with family or a partner. You can access a playground, a barbeque area, and a cafe. The place is so glamorous that it has been named "glamarama," and with its pristine shoreline, it was an amusement park with elephant rides and a roller coaster. I will advise against swimming at this beach because it is quite dangerous. You must heed the lifeguard warnings because it is quite serious. Manly Beach The beach is known for its surfing scene, so you can visit with your friends or partner to soak up some beach vibes and taste the local culture. Manly is known for hosting the Australian Open of Surfing competition in February. You can chill around in the sand while you take local lessons to improve your surfing experience. If you don't have experience, I wouldn't ask you to go there and surf. There are other things that you can do, such as sunbathing, having a picnic, or enjoying a delicious Slurpee! Nielsen Park Nielsen Park is in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, close to the Vaucluse neighborhood. The beach is the perfect place to escape from your hectic everyday routine. You can access several facilities, such as toilets, sheltered sitting areas, and others. There is a scenic walking trail along the foreshore that you can take with your partner. There are also shaded picnic areas where you can hang out with your family, friends, or partner. Shelly Beach This is one of the top spots in Australia for diving and snorkelling! This beach is in the northern region of Sydney so that you will have some spectacular ocean views. There is a surf club at the end of the south end of Manly, so if you follow the coastline for about 15 minutes, you can reach it here. If you snorkel, you should bring your snorkelling gear to explore the shallow cove and its clear water. The cove is protected within the marine reserve of Cabbage Tree Bay. Often, Surfers plan to go to the other side of the beach through "The Bower",” a shallow-breaking surf wave. You can easily have a barbecue party as there are facilities available, along with access to a restaurant, Le Kiosk. Milk Beach This beach is found in the eastern suburbs of Sydney; Milk Beach is a perfectly quiet and small gateway! It is a cool place to perform fishing, swimming, and snorkelling activities. There are also several rock formations just at the edge of the beach. You will have a lovely sunset view with these rock formations if you see the Sydney skyline. There is, however, the issue of no facilities at the beach. You will not get any amenities or services. Hence, you must walk through Nielsen Park from Shark Beach to access toilets and picnic areas. Let's remember the Hermitage Foreshore trail, which, if you take a little hike or walk through, you can experience some of the stunning coastal views. “Ma, will you miss me when I am in the camps and do the trek with my school friends?” I was a little surprised, as every mom would be when a 13-year-old these days says such emotional things! I looked at her and then straight at her rucksack and the entire mess around it.  She read my expression. “Ma, I don’t know what to pack for camping. My class teacher gave us a list, and I cannot find it now.”  There is no point in telling her that she cannot be so careless with plans of camping and trekking in her mind. I texted her teacher, and until she replied, I got started with the basics.  My years of experience as a traveler and travel writer were waiting for this day of glory 😉! Nevertheless, sometimes, being a mother, you have to do things! Now, a whole week of camping may sound amazing. Fresh air, quiet mornings, that forest smell that sticks to everything. Honestly, it’s like hitting the reset button.  Then reality hits. Seven days out there? What even do you bring?You want fun, not a trip full of “why did I leave that jacket at home?” or “Ugh, no power again.”So, what actually goes in your bag without turning it into a nightmare? Here are some practical tips you need to remember.  What To Pack For Camping? Things You Need To Carry For Survival  You need a good shelter, food that keeps you going, and some survival tools when you are camping. Also, keep some books or board games handy to spend those long evenings.  1. Shelter And Sleep Essentials A solid tent is a must. Rain, wind, surprise weather! Your tent better not bail on you. Some tents are super roomy but heavy. Your shoulders will hate you. If you’re hiking far, weight matters more than space. I had to spend 30 minutes convincing my daughter about the same and had to make her talk to my fellow trekker, whom she, of course, trusts more than me.  Now, it’s about the sleeping bag. You have to consider the weather and ground conditions when choosing the right one.  If the bag is made of synthetic material, it will help to manage wet weather. But, if you are choosing down bags, those will be more compressible and occupy less space. However, they will not forgive your wet conditions.  In addition, you have to carry sleeping pads. Sleep on the hard ground for two nights, and you will know why you need these sleeping pads.  Pillow, of course, is an optional choice. I made a makeshift pillow for my daughter by stuffing some old clothes in a bag.  2. Clothing Weather changes, and fast. Cold mornings. Hot afternoons. Damp nights. You get the idea. Layers that dry fast are your friend. Zip-off pants, light jackets, even a swimsuit, sound extra, I know. But there’s that one river crossing or random rainstorm where you’ll be glad.  Socks. Bring more than you think. Blisters ruin everything. Shoes matter too. Waterproof boots, yes. But a lighter pair for hanging around camp? Total win. 3. Food Freeze-dried meals are easy, lightweight, and actually tasty now. Add fruit, nuts, or some cooked food if you can. I got my daughter a few protein bars. I made those at home using roasted sesame seeds, jaggery, and peanuts.  Also, I stir-fried some boiled peas with salt and some seasoning and packed them in a zipper pack. These munchies really help, and unlike the ready-made snacks in the market, these don’t make you feel dehydrated.  Breakfast? Keep it simple. Oatmeal, instant coffee, snack bars. Done.Lunch is usually wraps, nut butter, and trail mix. Easy stuff. Dinner? One-pot meals are gold. Less cleanup, less stress. Don’t forget small things like oil, salt, or spices. Little stuff goes a long way.  Water. Super important. Bring enough. Know where to refill. Hiking miles because you misjudged water? No thanks. 4. Tools And Survival Necessities A good knife, a small multi-tool, and a headlamp with extra batteries, and you’ll use these more than half the fancy gadgets you’re tempted by. Use maps or a compass, even if you have a phone. Phones die. Signal disappears. Happens. Electronics? Charging them can be annoying. Also, portable energy solutions can save your sanity at some point, trust me. 5. Safety Essentials Hygiene. Boring, but trust me! After day three, you’ll care. Soap, toothbrush, wipes, quick-dry towel. Sunscreen and bug spray! You cannot forget any of these essentials.  You will also need a first-aid kit. Blisters, cuts, aches, all of it! Bring painkillers, allergy meds, and anything personal you need.  Hand sanitizer is more than just about germs. Whistle or signal tool? It might feel extra, but one day you’ll be glad you have it. 6. Entertainment Evenings can be long. Books, journals, cards, and small instruments will help you to pass the time. Hammocks are great for some chill instantly. You will love staring at trees or taking photos when relaxing in a hammock.  Also, you can bring camp chairs. Sometimes, comfort wins over minimalism, especially when you are doing back-to-back camping or trekking.  What To Pack For Camping? Don’t Feel Overwhelmed  Are you camping for the first time, and that too for seven days? The packing procedure can get a bit overwhelming.  It’s okay. However, making a list of essentials or talking to your tour operator will help. Also, you can reach out to anyone in your camping group. When traveling solo, you can post your queries in Facebook travel groups.  Still, it all starts with getting a good quality tent, and you have to learn how to set it up properly. Also, carry layered clothes as temperatures change and weather conditions can change dramatically after sundown, or there can be sudden turns of events.  Furthermore, you will need lights and lightsaver tools, and you must keep your meals simple.  Moreover, you have to keep some things or aspects spontaneous while camping. Everything will not happen as planned. You may have to collect a dead branch and wash it to use in cooking if you have left the spatula at home! Things like these will happen, and how you overcome them is the real fun of camping. Are you like me? Who loves the wilderness and the solitude. I am a solo traveler and I have visited a lot of national parks in the USA, the best of them according to me is Maine National Parks. If we share the same interest then Maine is the perfect getaway from everything.  The state is considered to be the place where the beautiful rocky coastline, pine forests, lighthouses, and the Appalachian Trail await you!.  When we talk about National Parks in Maine, there is only one National Park in Maine, but there are four sites that have been affiliated with the National Park services along with these there is also one National Trail that starts from Maine itself.  Acadia National Park is the main park in Maine. Maine National Parks that are affiliated are:  Maine Acadian Culture Centre. Katahdin Woods And Waters National Monument. Saint Croix Island International Historic Site.  Roosevelt Campobello International Park.  In this article, I will be giving you a complete guide on how to enjoy Maine National Parks. Stay tuned! Acadia National Park Acadia National park is where the mountains meet the ocean. This beautiful spot is located southwest of Bar Harbor, Maine. This park embraces 47,000 acres that include half of Mount Desert Island, known to be the section of the Schoodic Peninsula. There are several small islands in between as well.  Acadia is known to be one of the 10 top National Parks in America, which attracts a lot of tourists.  Things To Do In Acadia National Park  Hiking hiking is the most popular and fun activity in Acadia National Park. For hikers they have 158 miles that are marked as hiking trails and your pets can accompany you there too. It is a great place to take your family with you and while walking you will be watching the ocean, flora, and wildlife.  Wildlife For many species, Acadia National Park is their home. Look out for otters, eagles, seals, painted turtles, deer, peregrine falcons, moose, black bears, and porcupines. Other than this, in winter you can go ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snow bowling, and dog sledding.  How To Get To Acadia National Park? From Mount Desert Island or Schoodic Peninsula, by car, it is really easy to drive to Acadia. The Rv campers must know that the historic bridges have high restrictions on roads. The rest of the roads do allow buses and long vehicles.  There are RV campsites that have a convenient bus system to drive tourists around the park. Maine National Parks As I mentioned in the beginning, there are four affiliated sites that can somehow be considered National Parks in Maine. Let's see what they have to offer. Maine Acadian Culture Centre Maine Acadian Culture Centre is located in the U.S side of Saint John Valley. It shows the depth of the history of the Acadian settlers.  There are places for tourists to explore the intriguing architecture of the early 1900’s church, which is now home to Musee Culturel du Mont-Carmel. You can also just wander around all your own among the seventeen buildings of the indigenous Acadian settlement.  For those who would rather just stay outdoors than indoors and build memories to carry back home, have the Allagash Wilderness Waterway where angling, hunting, and canoeing are available.  Katahdin Woods And Waters National Monument  Possessing over 87,000 acres of Maine wilderness, this spot offers opportunities for outdoor roamers. This place is considered to be the hub for bird-watching and hiking. Katahdin is nominated as the international dark sky sanctuary.  Among the Maine National Parks, Acadia National park has a pristine National Monument whose location is perfect for date gazers and campers. To those who look for adventure during the wintertime as well, snow bowling is allowed in many areas,  and there are well-maintained trails for cross-country skiing. Hunting and fishing are also allowed here.  Saint Croix Island International Historic Site This place attempted to have a French Colonization, which now reminds historical events dating back to 1604. The trail is fine for visitors to leisurely walk and enjoys guiding themselves while they pass the bronze statues set in homage to French settlers and admire them.  There is a huge bird population and birdwatchers can easily report if they come across a new species of bird. Informal birds taking shadows are held through the entire summer.  Roosevelt Campobello International Park  This international park is to show respect to Franklin D. Roosevelt and his family.  This 2,800-acre island is full of forests, bogs, and beaches that offer an idyllic area, slow walks, and get-togethers.  People come across many cottages in the park including Roosevelt Cottage. This cottage is open to all tourists and provides guides that know how to answer the guests with politeness and information.  Appalachian National Scenic Trail  This Trail contains 2200 miles of habitual foot track. 281 of them are located in the state of Maine. It has ecosystems in the mountains that are quite picturesque. The tallest mountain in Maine, Katahdin, blemishes the starting of the trail and is the difficult mile on the route which is Mahoosuc Notch.  As the spot has a unique climate, it is also a hub for scientific research and studies. Workshops are available to educate people who wish to join the journey. There are plenty of exploration options for all skill levels, from friendly treks to thru-hikers.
