For me, it was not just the sky full of stars and constellations. These stars were the roadmap for our ancestors, irrespective of the culture and country we belong to. They watched the stars to keep time and decide the time of the year ideal for agriculture, harvesting, fishing, and hunting. In the Maori culture, Tohunga kōkōrangi, or specialist priests, had this deep astronomical knowledge, and they shared the knowledge with others. Also, there are myths and ancient stories about the stars, like the one with the Matariki cluster. This cluster is associated with the anger of Tāwhirimātea, the God of wine and storms. Being furious, he tore his eyes and threw them into heaven. There, his eyes became the Matariki stars. Overall, for the Maori tribes, the stars and constellations have been beyond celestial bodies for observation. They were a mix of spirituality, science, stories, and a way of living life. So, when the Great Barrier Island, New Zealand, became a Dark Sky Sanctuary in 2017, it celebrated ancestral connections and the role of the sky as a roadmap. And I visited Great Barrier Island in 2022. So, nature had its own reboot during and post the COVID-19 era. So, we could see the clearest sky. Also, if you have children, visit Six Flags Mexico, an amusement park closer to the southern edge of Mexico City and in the Tlalpan forest. There are two water rides, and the park is open year-round. There are 9 roller coaster rides apart from other rides; in total 50 rides in the park. The ticket to entry into the park costs around $57. Get yourself an adrenaline-filled day, people! El Angel De La Independencia It is mostly known as El Angel, which is a victory column that is situated in downtown Mexico City! The El Angel De La Independencia is also identified as an independence tribute for the victory of Mexico over Spain after the War of Independence. You can see the gold statue, the Angel of Independence, almost anywhere in the city. To go to the top of the monument, you must buy a ticket for $16. You can also opt for a private helicopter tour which will cost you more! The monument is gigantic and represents the victory and the development of the people after independence. Alameda Central This place is famous, and why won't it be? Have you seen the beautiful monument with its sharp corners and the majestic visuals it creates contracting the sky? It is not only beautiful, it is also historically important for the people. The monument is also a park where people hang around and is considered a marketplace! It was where heretics were burned under the Spanish acquisition, so clearly, this place is a place of sacrifice. You do not need to pay anything to visit the place! And do remember to take pictures, people! Sagrario Metropolitano The visiting charge for Sagrario Metropolitano is $84 per person, which might be a little pricey, but it is worth it! The church has been made of stone, standing brave in its elegance and architectural beauty. The facades of the church have been lavishly ornate, and if you are a monument fan, you cannot miss the baroque architecture reflecting the Greek side of the monument. Unam Biblioteca Central Book lovers, here you go! Another library is located in Mexico City, you have to visit it! Unam Biblioteca Central belongs to the National Autonomous University of Mexico and is the main library for students in Ciudad Universitaria. It offers much more than just mouthwatering street food (though there is plenty of it). Engulfed in a hazy mixture of motorbike exhaust, incense, and charcoal grills, this chaotic city is also home to luxury hotels. Michelin-starred restaurants, quaint cocktail bars, and an abundance of good times together creates magic. Of course we cannot forget to mention culture and history. Feeling overwhelmed? Its okay. Visit Chinatown for some of the best bars in the city and historic architecture after a day of touring temples. Alternatively, take a stroll through some of the city's most stylish parks. Plan this before dining on a multi-course meal inside a chophouse. It probably dates back a century or on an antique barge. The best way to introduce yourself to the famous Bangkok skyline and get a peek of everyday life in the area is to take a cruise down the Chao Phraya. There are numerous ways to access the river, ranging from daytime sightseeing trips to dinner cruises in the evening. Take the Chao Phraya Express Boat, though, if you truly want to travel like a local. The public water taxi goes all the way up to the nearby province of Nonthaburi, making stops at busy docks along the river.  Ayutthaya  Train travel to Ayutthaya from Bangkok takes about one hour, making it an ideal day trip destination. This is one of the best things to do in Bangkok. Ayutthaya offers visitors a window into Thailand's past as the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam. Gorgeous 14th-century palaces and temples can be found in the capital of the preserved kingdom.
