You Cannot Miss These Places To Visit In Italy: Exploring Italy On A Self-Guided Tour

BY  Arnab Oct 28, 2022

A lot of developments have again brought Italy tourism into the limelight. One of the best places to visit in Italy, Lake Como, now allows visitors to take home the most unique souvenirs. You can now carry back 100% pure canned air from this beautiful lake.  ItalyComunica, a communication company, has started this initiative. Their Lake Como Air Cans have 400 ml of pure air from Lake Como and are now available at $11.  "A luxurious souvenir, perfect for those who wish to rediscover the peace and elegance of this heavenly corner, sealed in a tin.." - ItalyComunica Further, as you take this can of pure air home, you can open it and experience the tranquility of Lake Como.  Along with Lake Como, there are many other places to visit in Italy. Of course, everyone knows about the capital city of Rome and the beautiful Venice. However, this time, I have curated some other hotspots in the country.  Here Are The Four Best Places To Visit In Italy A lot of people like to take themselves on Italy tours to try and see it all, but with so much to see, it’s not always possible in one trip.  But if you’re planning a trip to Italy, keep reading and discover all the best places that you should visit!  1. Florence Florence is the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, and it is often said to be the home of some of the greatest art and architecture in the world. It’s often thought to be the birthplace of the Renaissance, so you can imagine just how glorious the art is. Florence proves this by having one of the most famous art galleries ever, housing the Uffizi Gallery which contains pieces from classic artists like da Vinci, Raphael, and even Michelangelo! Florence is also a little bit slower-paced than other historical cities like Rome, allowing you to really soak in your surroundings without all the hustle and bustle. If architecture is something you love to gaze at when visiting other countries, then Florence could be the answer to your dreams. With beautiful structures like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, you’ll be blown away by just how beautiful this city really is. So, if you want to visit a place with just as much historical significance as Rome but without the tourists, head down to Florence.  2. Verona Fans of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” will have of course heard of the city of Verona, as it’s the setting for one of the greatest tragedies of all time. Verona itself may not be at the top of everyone’s list, but it definitely should be. It’s big enough that you can spend a whole day exploring, but it’s also small enough to feel like a walkable city. Verona may be a modern city with lots of stunning restaurants to visit, but it also pays homage to the star-crossed lovers with a museum in a building named “Juliet’s House”. There you’ll find different outfits from movies and plays that have been performed throughout history and all sorts of historical artefacts from the time period of the play. You can even get the perfect photo op on Juliet’s balcony and look longingly out onto the view of Verona and ask the question “Wherefore art thou Romeo?”. A little way down the road, there’s a small tomb that’s said to belong to Juliet as well, so you can pay your respects to the ill-fated lady. Travel-wise, Verona’s train station is right in the centre and has links to all the surrounding cities, allowing you to make it a simple day trip on your itinerary.  3. Praiano If you’re wanting that picturesque Italian experience, then Praiano could be your dream vacation. A small town situated on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, you can enjoy gorgeous beach views and breathtaking architecture. There’s the 15th-century church in the middle of the town called the Church of San Gennaro which showcases the best of the baroque architecture. The beach itself is absolutely amazing, with crystal blue waters and surrounded by rocky cliffs, you’ll be able to enjoy the sun and relax in the shade at the same time. If you like an active vacation, then you might want to check out the Sentiero Degli Dei, or the Footpath of the Gods. This trail is 7km long and goes all the way from Praiano and up to Nocelle near Positano city. However, you’ll need to be prepared for the staircase that awaits you at the start, as you’ll need to climb 1,900 steps! Praiano is one of the lesser-known areas of the Amalfi Coast, but that doesn’t mean it’s lesser than any of the other areas. So, make sure you add it to your holiday plans!  4. Padua  Finally, if you want to go somewhere that’s steeped in history and gives you a truly authentic Italian experience but without all the tourists of Venice, then Padua is the place for you. Padua, or Padova in Italian, is a small city that’s just outside of Venice. Padua has a train station right in the centre that has a direct line to Venice, and all sorts of other places like Florence and Rome. This makes it a great place to stay without having to fall into the tourist traps of Venice and enjoy some tranquillity at the same time. Padua has the second oldest university in the whole of Italy, which was founded in 1222! There’s also the Basilica of Saint Anthony who was a Portuguese Catholic Priest that passed away in 1231. The Basilica is visually stunning and has a museum that you can visit inside which is dedicated to the saint as well. There’s also a gorgeous outdoor area that’s brimming is history too.  The Prato Della Valle which is the biggest square in the whole of Italy and has statues of Italy’s most renowned intellectuals. If you’re an avid foodie, then you want to head on over to Piazza Dei Signori. There you’ll find all sorts of authentic restaurants and proper Italian gelato too. It’s also home to the Torre dell’Orologio or in English, the astronomical clock. This clock tower was built in 1430 and the clock face shows the different zodiac signs. It really is a magnificent sight to see, and it looks even better when you’re enjoying a plate of good food in the beautiful afternoon sun.   Italy has some of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only place with beauty. In fact, there are plenty of other cities and towns within Italy that could offer you even more than places like Venice! This list just goes to show that you don’t have to only visit the tourist areas to get a real view of Italy. So, why not add some of these places to your list of places to visit? You’ll be blown away at how wonderful they all are, and you’ll find yourself wishing you were back there time and time again. 5. Lake Como Located in the Lombardy region of Italy, Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe. It looks heavenly with the Bergamo Alps surrounding it, and you can see the reflections of snow-capped peaks in the water.  Further, Lake Como looks different with changing seasons. In summer, you will find the lake surrounded by greens. In winter, of course, it’s all snowy and white as far as you can see.  6. Pompeii, A UNESCO World Heritage Site The Roman architectural site Pompeii is one of the most interesting places to visit in Italy. Such is its appeal that now managing tourism here is a challenge for the management. The first Sunday of October in 2024 had around 36000 visitors to the park. However, from 15th November, the park authority is planning to limit the number of visitors to the park on a daily basis.  Now, only 20000 people can visit Pompeii in a day. Further, you will need to pay an entry fee of €18 to visit Pompeii.  Read Also: Japan Is Now Accepting Travelers: So Why Aren’t Tourists Going Back This Year? One of the largest music festivals in the world, Coachella draws tens of thousands of music fans each year. The festival is so huge that it has become a cultural phenomenon of its own. People from all over the country come to the festival to see their favorite artists' performances. Yes, you’ll have to wait in line to see the biggest pop stars but it’s all worth it. It is also the best place to show off your unique fashion statement. If you have never been to the festival before and don’t know what to expect, read on. What to do: Coachella is an experience rather than merely a music event, to sum it up. Everyone can find something to enjoy at Coachella thanks to the incredible art displays, mouthwatering food selections, and unforgettable after-parties. Examine the art installations: Coachella is about more than simply music. Your imagination will be blown by a number of the festival's huge art exhibits. There is something for everyone, from immersive installations to interactive sculptures. Sample the cuisine: Coachella is renowned for its incredible dining options. With more than 100 food vendors, you can find anything from veggie tacos to gourmet burgers. Be sure to sample some of the regional specialties, including the Coachella dog and spicy pie. After-Parties: The good times don't finish when the music does. Numerous after-parties are held at various venues throughout the festival grounds at Coachella. These events are a terrific way to keep the party going all night long and include some of the top DJs and musicians in the world. What Not To Do: Thousands of people travel from all over the world to attend the thrilling gatherings known as music festivals. But in order to guarantee a risk-free, and enjoyable experience, it is critical to exercise caution and be aware of potential threats. Don’t Get Dehydrated: First and foremost, it is critical to drink plenty of water and use sunscreen. Dehydration and heat exhaustion are frequent during music events, particularly in the summer. It is advised to bring a reusable water bottle and put on sunscreen to avoid being burned. Don’t Lose Things: Second, it is critical to be conscious of one's environment and possessions. There may be more potential for theft, and pickpocketing in large groups. It is advised to protect belongings and observe personal space. Don’t Get Into A Fight: If you get into a fight or make a scene, you are likely to be thrown out of the festival. Imagine wasting all those days preparing to see your favorite celebrities, only to be thrown out for a stupid fight. You don’t want to waste your time and money. Music and Weed: Marijuana use is frequently linked to music festivals and other types of recreational drug use. Cannabis use has become widespread, even though it is still prohibited in many places, especially at music festivals. Many festival-goers think that smoking marijuana improves their experience, improving the quality of the music and fostering a more laid-back ambiance. For people who have anxiety around huge crowds, weed can be extremely beneficial. As people frequently share joints and connect over a shared love of music at festivals, smoking weed can also aid in the development of a sense of community among festival-goers. These days, you can order legal weed from an authorized shop online. For example, one might visit Desert Underground and check out different types of weeds and joints available online. You may even get a bag of THC-infused gummy bears and enjoy the festival to the fullest. 6 Things to Consider While Booking a Vacation Rental

BY  Mashum May 9, 2020

Paul Coelho once said, “If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it's lethal.”Everyone needs a break from their monotonous routine, and the best thing to do with your time off is to use it to travel and explore the world! Whether you are planning a relaxing vacation or an adventurous one, you need to figure out the accommodation. While hotels and luxury resorts such as Las Ventanas al Paraiso are usually the go-to options for accommodations, many are starting to look at the less expensive and more personal option – vacation rentals. Even with the various benefits that vacation rentals have to offer, there are many factors that you will need to consider before booking one. Here are a few factors for you to consider when booking a vacation rental: 1. Book Early When it comes to making bookings for your journey, the earlier you book, the better and more cost-effective it will be. Booking the perfect vacation rental for your getaway a few months before your intended stay will be beneficial for you too. However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be open to other possibilities. It is wise to compare all your available accommodation options. If you’re booking a vacation rental for the summer season, you might want to make your bookings at the beginning of the year, especially for waterfront properties. Many frequent travelers even book a year in advance. Booking a property at the last minute, especially during the peak season, can be extremely costly for you. Moreover, not only will early bookings save you money, but they will also ensure that you get a great rental property. Fortunately, online bookings have made life much easier, allowing you to compare and pre-book some great vacation rentals, like the Lutsen Mountain lodging. 2. Look For a Reliable Rental Company This is an important factor to consider when renting a vacation home. You need to ensure the credibility of your rental property. If it seems unreliable or appears to be shady, you might want to reconsider even if that means it costs you more. You can’t rely on property descriptions completely. You can listen or read reviews about people’s experiences to find out if the property is reliable or not. No one can provide you a better picture of how a vacation rental is and what you can expect from it, except those who have been there before. With so many convenient websites, you will come across user reviews as they draw you a picture of the good, bad, and ugly side of a vacation rental.  You can also use this time to compare reviews of different properties regarding the condition, location, amenities, etc., to make your final decision. If you are planning to go to Minnesota, the Lutsen lodge is a great property to spend your vacations. If you love golf and are looking for golf courses near Lutsen, MN, then Lusten mountain lodging is the best option for you. 3. Location of the Vacation Rental The location of the vacation rental is also important for a relaxing stay. Oftentimes, you can’t find suitable transport and even when you do, it can be too expensive. The best way to minimize your transportation expense is to find a vacation rental that is near all the activities you want to do and places you want to visit. For example, if you're looking to hit the waves down in Santa Cruz, a quick perusal of rental properties and beach houses for your vacation in the sun on the Surf City Rentals website will quickly reveal some idyllic places to stay close to all the hottest activities and entertainment. Before booking your rental property, take some time to fully research its surrounding. Ensure that the property guarantees accessibility to areas you want to visit as this will ease your travel experience. Moreover, you will also want to ensure that the location of the property has network coverage, hospitals or clinics, and other important facilities such as banks, ATMs, supermarkets, and currency exchangers nearby. For instance, the Lutsen Mountain Lodging is a great facility with some amazing areas to visit nearby. So you won’t have to stress about transport. You can find golf courses near Lutsen, MN, as well! 4. Explore Your Options After you choose your vacation destination and book your tickets, you look for a great place to stay! Considering it’s the 21st century, traveling has become much easier and budget-friendly than it was before. In present times, as a traveler, you have a world of options when it comes to booking air tickets or vacation stays. Make sure that you compare different vacation rentals before settling on one. Always keep your options and eyes open! With the variety of applications and websites available, it has become uber-easy to compare different vacation properties. You can compare them on the basis of the rent, location, amenities, and of course, customer reviews! Exploring various properties will also give you an idea of what you can expect from the area and even, destination. Keep searching for new discounts and deals that will help you avail of better prices and amenities. 5. Ask Questions While you can access all the information you need through the internet, it’s better to ask questions from the property owners as well. For instance, you will want to know if they have all of the proper safety protocols in place, such as easy to read fire escape signs, first aid kits, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, for example. Whether you’re planning to stay at a vacation rental for three days or three weeks, you will want to ensure that you are provided with all the amenities you need. Perhaps, the best way to find out about this is by asking questions from the owners or managers of a vacation rental like the Lutsen lodge. If the property is good, the owners won’t be hesitant in addressing all your queries and would be rather happy to provide you with details and photographs of the rental. 6. Secure a Contract There are various modes through which payments can be made these days. By booking a vacation rental online, you can pay by cash or through online transfers such as debit or credit card payments. While some properties usually ask for cash, others often ask for advance payments. Make sure that you don’t send any payments to the property owners until you’ve signed an iron-clad rental contract. Moreover, ensure that you read the entire rental agreement before signing. Conclusion Finding the perfect vacation rental for your getaway doesn’t have to be a demanding task. By considering the above tips, you can find a great place to suit all your vacation needs!
