Potter and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania are the newest vacation hotspots in the USA in the fall season. The fifth position in the 2025 USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Destination for Fall Colors has further brought this into the limelight.  Hiking the canyon rims, watching the stars at the Cherry Springs, live entertainment, and great local food make Potter and Tioga stand out.  On the other hand, USA Today has recently named Mackinac Island the Best Place to Visit for Fall. With the leaves of the trees turning orange and golden yellow, and the earth getting covered with dry leaves, Autumn announces the season of Thanksgiving and Halloween.  Furthermore, it is the season of apple picking and pumpkin harvesting.  Mid-September to early November is the leaf peeping season in the USA. However, because of a pretty dry season since late July, the fall colors seem to be less visible in different parts of the country till now.  Furthermore, due to the “Urban Heat Island Effect,” the urban areas are likely to have less vibrant fall colors, and the ocean influences in the coastal areas will also impact and delay the change of foliage colors.  So, in the current year, we will have to wait till mid and late October for the leaf peeping season to reach its full glory. Even in the northeast, the drought stress since the end of August and a consistent temperature of around 80°F will delay the arrival of fall colors. Having said that, Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and some other locations in the northwestern region have already started showing mild colors. In addition, a wet beginning to summer and the long dry spell afterward have created a favorable condition for apple and pumpkin harvesting, two other major attractions of the fall season, along with the change of leaf colors.  Moreover, the species of the trees (Red Maple Trees offer red foliage and ash trees offer yellow foliage) and their locations impact the fall colors. Trees at higher elevations and near lakes and ponds show better colors.  What Are The Best Places To Visit In October In The USA?  Have you seen the painting, Four Seasons, by Egon Schiele? Then you must check out Amena Mediterranean café And Bakery. They serve tasty homemade hummus, pitas, and other Middle-Eastern favorites in an easygoing, colorful environment. Review By Agnes Williams: I accidentally ran into this place, and my husband had never had a Mediterranean dish before. We both love the service, and the food is tasty. I would definitely come back to this place. I also bought a bag of dry chickpeas so I can make the falafel at home. Best I've ever done because it tasted soooo good. 9. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill: Another one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Las Vegas, you have to check out The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. We can vouch for them - and if you don’t believe us then that’s fine because they have got crazy guest reviews on Google! Review By Kimber Ferm: Absolutely delicious. The gyro meat was cooked to perfection, and the salad was fresh. I loved my meal! Also, the staff was really friendly and accommodating when I asked to plug in and charge while eating. Traveling with a weak cell battery is tough! On my list for my next visit! 10. Sultan’s Grill Las Vegas: You don’t have to google ‘Mediterranean restaurants Las Vegas’ when you are craving Mediterranean food in Vegas the next time. Instead, you can just check out Sultan’s Grill Las Vegas - they serve Mediterranean staples such as falafel, hummus, and kebabs from a counter-serve spot. When you think of the ideal spring destination, what springs to mind? For most, it’s rolling tree-lined vistas exploding with cherry blossoms; temperate weather that’s neither too hot nor too cold; a lively atmosphere, reinvigorated after a long winter; moments of serenity before the onslaught of summer tourists, etc. It can be challenging to find all of those platonic ideals in one place, especially if you stick to the beaten path. However, if you wander away from the major tourist cities (your Parises, Tokyos, and New York, e.g.), you can find compelling cities that come to life in spring. As a bonus, these underrated cities are often less expensive than their famous counterparts–and cheaper in the shoulder season of spring. ČeskýKrumlov, Czechia Prague is beautiful, no doubt. Unfortunately, it’s the first and last place tourists often visit in Czechia (formerly the Czech Republic). If you’re willing to take a two-hour train from Prague (roughly $20), you can land yourself in ČeskýKrumlov, a UNESCO-recognized Gothic city in the heart of South Bohemia. Phoenix’s spring temperature is still manageable – not the sweltering highs it experiences in August. Prices are reasonable across the accommodation landscape.
