What Is Mazatlan Mexico Known For? Is Mazatlan Safe To Travel Now?

BY  Sibashree Sep 18, 2025

Mazatlan Mexico, despite all its great tourism numbers, is facing serious safety concerns. In 2025, Mazatlan continues to be one of the most successful coastal cities for a maritime tourism boom in Mexico.  According to data from Travel and Tour World, Mazatlan welcomed 62 cruises from 1st January to 14th July 2025. The number of cruise passengers for the same period was 227,138.  Now, beyond a tourism influx, these numbers indicate a revival of the regional economy here. With more tourists visiting Mazatlan, there will be a boost to the local retail, transport, and restaurant businesses. There will also be new employment opportunities.  However, Mazatlan has always been a favorite coastal getaway and is dubbed the “Pearl of the Pacific.” It boasts rich history, culture, and matchless scenic beauty.  Still, with the USA and Canada travel advisories asking you to observe increased caution in Mazatlan, tourist safety remains a concern.  In this Tour and Travel Blog, we will discuss what Mazatlan is known for and how safe it is for tourists now.  What Is Mazatlan Mexico Known For? A Mix Of Classical Experiences And What’s New Mazatlan is an important city in the Mexican Pacific corridor. It also now has improved port facilities, improving the number of cruise visitors to the city.  Furthermore, taking all the safety challenges in stride, Mazatlan is now gearing up for the Carnaval in February-March 2026. So, it’s the best time to explore the best of the city and the attractions that have been added to the city’s landmarks recently.  1. The Malecón The Malecón is a 21-km stretch of an oceanfront boardwalk, and it offers the most amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the longest boardwalks in the world and ideal for strolls, bike rides, and cafe visits throughout the day and night. 2. Basilica Of The Immaculate Conception The Basilica is an important landmark of Mazatlan, Mexico. Located near the historic center of the city, the Basilica boasts a mix of Moorish, Baroque-revival, and Gothic architectural styles.  3. Plazuela Machado Mazatlán’s historic center houses Plazuela Machado. It is the best place to learn about the cultural heritage of Mazatlan. It has many 19th-century buildings, live music venues, cafes, restaurants, and cultural hotspots.  4. Stone Island Or Isla De La Piedra View this post on Instagram A post shared by Larry Vanstone (@larry_vanstone) You can plan a day trip to Stone Island. It has the most tranquil ambiance, and it is just a boat ride away from Mazatlan. Furthermore, it is ideal for outdoor activities such as horseback riding and snorkeling. 5. Mercado Pino Suarez View this post on Instagram A post shared by D de Delia | Delia Gaxiola (@ddedelia) Mercado Pino Suarez, or the local market of Mazatlan, is the best place to learn about the local people and culture. Also, you must try the local seafood delicacies and collect some handicrafts as souvenirs.  6. Cliff Divers At El Clavadista If you want to be a little adventurous, the cliff divers at El Clavadista will be the go-to place for you. You can jump here from the high cliffs and into the water below.  7. Angela Peralta Theater View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jaime Marie Webb (@jaimewebbsoprano) The Angela Peralta Theater, named after Angela Peralta, the “Nightingale of Mexico,” dates back to the 19th century. It is now beautifully restored and it hosts many opera and dance shows, and concerts.  8. Gran Acuario Mazatlan Hours Open: 9 AM to 6 PM View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gran Acuario Mazatlán (@granacuariomazatlan) Opened in 2023, Gran Acuario Mazatlan is now the biggest aquarium in the city. It beautifully displays the marine life of the Sea of Cortez. You will find many sea turtles, jellyfish, rays, and sharks in the aquarium.  You will also spot penguins and sea lions here. In addition, there are outdoor spaces for lizards and birds.  Yes, the entry tickets are a little expensive. However, the experience here is unforgettable.  Groups/CategoriesEntry FeeAdults$593Local Adults$470Minors$485Local Minors$420Seniors (Above 65)$450Visitors with DisabilityFree Is It Safe To Travel To Mazatlan Right Now?  The Mexico Travel Advice issued by the Canadian Government, updated on 15th September 2025, has asked travelers to Mexico to “exercise a high degree of caution.” Furthermore, there are specific directives for visitors to Mazatlán and its surrounding areas.  It says,  “In recent weeks, there have been violent clashes between rival armed groups in Culiacán, Mazatlán and their surrounding areas. Armed groups have stopped vehicles on the highway from Culiácan to Mazatlán and other major roads.” Also, the USA travel advisory has issued a Level 4 caution for the entire State of Sinaloa, where Mazatlan is located. Recent drug cartel crimes and acts of terrorism in the state trigger this advisory.  However, beyond these travel advisories, we need to adopt a balanced approach for understanding the safety situations of Mazatlan Mexico. So, here are the details.  1. Transportation Safety The public buses and pulmonías or golf-cart-like-taxis are the best modes of communication in Mazatlan to explore the city like a local.  Furthermore, if you want to avoid the rush, you can take an app cab or the red and green taxis of the city.  2. Crime Levels Yes, drug cartels, pickpocketing, and thefts remain a concern in Mazatlan, like many other areas in Mexico, such as Acapulco. However, at the same time, the government has adopted a heightened security strategy for Mazatlan because it is a key economic zone.  3. Health And Environmental Safety Summer is extremely hot and humid in Mazatlan. Also, the coastal city experiences the rampages of hurricanes from late summer to early fall.  So, when planning a trip to Mazatlan, you must be very careful about the weather conditions.  4. Overall Tourism Security  An increased police presence in the Old Town, Golden Zone, and Malecón is expected to enhance the experience for both local and international visitors. Furthermore, the critical public spaces now have special surveillance cameras and other equipment.  As a result, the city is already experiencing a drop in the number of thefts and pickpocketing.  Is Puerto Vallarta Or Mazatlan Better? Puerto Vallarta is more of a luxury hotspot. However, Mazatlan is more raw and pure if you are willing to have a Mexican experience. Mazatlan is also a maritime tourism hotspot with the charm of a quintessential port city.  However, Puerto Vallarta, in the state of Jalisco, is safer than Mazatlán. According to the US Travel Advisory, Puerto Vallarta is under the “Level: 3 - Reconsider travel” category, while Mazatlan is under the “Level: 4 - Do not travel” category. Is Acapulco Safe For Tourists Now? Why Isn’t It Popular Anymore? (Decoding The Reasons)

BY  Sibashree Sep 15, 2025

“Many violent crimes take place in Mexico. They include homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery. There is a risk of terrorist violence, including terrorist attacks and other activity in Mexico.” This is how the travel advisory summary of the U.S. State Department opens. The advisory, issued on 12th August 2025, asks travelers to exercise Level 2 or increased caution.  Furthermore, the UK Foreign Travel Advice about Mexico says,  “In the aftermath of Hurricane Otis, normal work by local authorities to reduce risks to tourists in Acapulco’s tourist area has stopped while they focus on recovery efforts. There are reports of an increase in crime, robbery and looting across the city, including in previously designated tourist areas. Take extreme care if you travel to Acapulco.” Also on forums such as Reddit and Quora, everyone is talking about is Acapulco safe now or not. Moreover, about the declining popularity of Acalpulco, one user on Reddit has written,  “No, absolutely not. There were some incidents a few years back of dead bodies washing up on beaches with tourists taking pictures (cartel killings). The city is awash in crime and the economy is really bad. In the 1970s-1980s, most of the family-tourism traffic and nightlife moved to Cancun and the Riviera Maya (which is a purpose-built region) and then most of the upscale tourism shifted to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. Acapulco is a dump these days.” Once a dominant global destination, Acapulco is now a forgotten or lesser-celebrated name among travelers. In this Tour and Travel Blog, we will discuss the serious safety concern impacting the life and tourism in Acapulco and how it is planning to make a comeback.  Is Acapulco Safe Now? The Resilience And The Concerns Acapulco is the first international tourist destination in Mexico. With a beach area of 50 kilometers, verdant mountains, and lagoons, it is an ideal beach tourism retreat in the heart of Mexico.  Furthermore, Acapulco was prompt in response to the COVID-19 debacle and adhered to the safety and hygiene standards. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) even awarded Acapulco the “Safe Travels” stamp.  Even after Hurricane Otis in October 2023, the city showed its resilience, with international travel airlines such as United Airlines resuming their services by May 2024. Since then, the city has also hosted major events such as the Mexican Open and Tianguis Turistico, or the annual tourism conference of Mexico.  In addition, there have been announcements of major inaugurations such as The Pierre & Diamonds, a luxury real estate project by the Mundo Imperial slated to open in 2026.  Moreover, Visit Acapulco, the official tourism organization of the city, has assured that hundreds of families enjoy trips to Acapulco because of the peace and tranquility.  While the grit and the character of the city to bounce back are not to be questioned, there are some areas of serious concern. The Increasing Crime Rate In Acapulco This increasing crime rate is one of the reasons why Acapulco is losing its charm as a spring break destination in 2025. However, places such as Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas are generally considered safer travel destinations in Mexico.  Nevertheless, here are the details of crime rates in Mexico. (Source: Numbeo).  Crime Rates in MexicoRatingCommentCrime Level80.56 Very HighCrime Increase Rate for the Last Five Years67.39HighViolent Crime77.52HighCrime due to Drug Dealing and Using67.44High From A Celebrity Hotspot To A Struggling Beach Location: The Transformation Of Acapulco Acapulco, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, has been a popular celebrity tourism destination throughout the 20th century. It had earned the reputation of being the Riviera of Mexico, with celebrities such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor flocking to this Mexican beach vacation frequently.  However, the high rates of drug cartel crimes and violent crimes have made this beach retreat less popular among international tourists. Today, tourists are looking for safer alternatives such as Los Cabos or Cancun.  What’s So Special About Acapulco? Know Things You Cannot Miss In Acapulco The beaches and the unique gastronomic experience are the things you cannot miss in Acapulco. Here are the details.  1. The Best Beaches In Acapulco The beaches of Acapulco are beautiful, with the Pacific Ocean kissing the golden sandy shores. Bars, restaurants, and other amenities make the beaches of Acapulco the ultimate destination for family vacations.  At the same time, you can bring out your adventurous self on these beaches with activities such as snorkeling, surfing, parasailing, and skiing.  The most popular beaches in Acapulco are Condesa Beach, Pichilingue Beach, Majahua Beach, and Barra de Coyuca.  2. The Best Gastromic Experience In Acapulco Zocalo de Acapulco is the hub if you want to try the authentic flavors of Acapulco and the best international cuisines. You can try fish tacos, enchiladas, and tamales from the local vendors in Acapulco. Furthermore, Pozole is a kind of popular Mexican stew. It has variations such as green, white or red.  The Acapulco Se Transforma Contigo (Acapulco Transforms With You) Program: The Way Forward For Acapulco  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Partido Morena (@morena_partido) The Mexican Government has recently issued a decree and the Acapulco se Transforma Contigo (Acapulco Transforms With You) program to build an “Integrally Planned Center (CIP).” According to a report in Mexico Business News, Sebastián Ramírez, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, has said that the Federal Government will invest MX$800 million for the development of the port.  Furthermore, for many other cities in Mexico, CIP has been a successful model, promoting a tourism boom. Therefore, it will play a crucial role in the city's transformation.  In addition, there will be a revitalization of the Bay of Acapulco. The revitalization program will create a historical, tourism, and cultural circuit of 5 km.  Moreover, Acapulco is going to have the Maribus maritime transportation system, protected natural areas such as the Puerto Marques Complex, and the Coyuca-Tres Palos Lagoon System, along with amenities such as free Wi-Fi on the beaches.  In addition, there will be major road and public infrastructure developments, like the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) investing MX$7.9 billion for better potable water, sanitation, and flood management facilities.  So, Acapulco, Mexico, is standing on the verge of a massive transformation, and with a controlled crime rate, the city has every potential to regain its glory as a celebrated travel destination.  Is Acapulco Safe? Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Here are the frequently asked questions and answers about safety in Acalpulco.  1. What Is The Safest Way To Go Around Acapulco? What Is Mazamitla Mexico, Known For? (Directions, Things To Do, Accommodations, And More)

BY  Sibashree Sep 15, 2025

The Pueblos Magicos Program of the Mexican Government has identified 132 Magical Towns of Mexico. This program supports these magical towns for the preservation and enhancement of their natural beauty and cultural and architectural heritage.  Mazamitla is one of these magical towns, and I came across it on my last trip to Guadalajara. In this Tour and Travel Blog, I will share a brief account of my last trip to Mazamitla Mexico. What Is Mazamitla Mexico Famous For? Mazamitla is just 80 km from Guadalajara, and it is in the state of Jalisco. Nestled in the Sierra del Tigre mountain range, Mazamitla also has the nickname of “The Switzerland of Mexico.” As I talked to the locals, a senior said, “People come to Mazamitla to relax. Also, the weather here is so good that you can come here during any part of the year.” Mazamitla is also 400 km away from Puerto Vallarta, a more popular and luxurious tourist destination in Jalisco.  It has chalet-like cabins and verdant hills. Further, the surrounding villages here make it a quaint little place, like an oasis in the heart of Mexico, and at an elevation of 2500 meters.. There is also a fascinating story behind how Mazamitla got its name. The name comes from the Nahuatl language. Nahuati is a Uto-Aztecan language, and today at least 1 million people speak this language.  Nevertheless, in Nahuatl, Mazamitla means a place where arrows are made for hunting deer. It is a combination of three phrases.  Mazatl or Deer Mitl or Arrow Tlan or Place Along with Nahuatl, the people of Mazamitla speak many other dialects.  How To Reach Mazamitla Mexico? I took the Autotransportes Mazamitla bus service from the Nueva Central Camionera stop in Guadalajara. Buses depart every one hour. However, travel time and bus timings can vary. Also, if you want a non-stop journey and to pace the travel more conveniently, you can rent a car. By car, you will reach Mazamitla in less than 2 hours. However, the bus services do not have any express option, and there will be frequent stops.  So, even if the bus promises to take you to Mazamitla within 3 hours, it took close to 4 hours for me.  After Reaching Mazamitla Mexico  The bus dropped us at Mazamitla station. I tried booking an Uber or a taxi. Uber does not work here, and taxis are very few. It’s great that Mazamitla is walkable. So, I started walking through the hills.  Yes, it was like morning workouts for me. Still, I didn’t mind, and I reached the main square. The main square has cobblestone streets, exuding the perfect dark academia vibe. I did not have any prior hotel booking, and it was a conscious decision, considering Mazamitla allows you to be a little carefree.  Nevertheless, after around 15 minutes of walking, I found a decent and modest accommodation as the locals helped me. The place I stayed was called the Monteverde Hotel.  I loved the fireplace in my room, and the living area was warm and relaxing. However, remember that they are going to charge you extra money for the daily delivery of kindling and charcoal.  La Estela and Huerta Real are two other popular hotels in Mazamitla Mexico.  What Are The Things To See In Mazamitla? What Are The Things To Do?  Mazamitla is the place where you need to move slowly and indulge in the vibe the magical town has to offer. I spent some time with the locals here, and it was great fun. However, if you want to wander alone, you will enjoy the sight of white-washed buildings along the streets. Here are the places I visited during my trip to Mazamitla. 1. The Parroquia De San Cristobal The Parroquia de San Cristobal, or the Saint Christopher's Parish here, is a main cultural and religious attraction.  This Parish, with its distinct architecture, shows a significant Chinese influence. It has tower spires and a wooden structure. Additionally, the church takes on a distinct visual character thanks to its scenic backdrop. Now, that was quite interesting, considering the history of the town goes back to 1165, and the Aztecs built it. However, the locals could not tell much about how the Chinese elements came here.  Later, I studied the Chinese encounters with Mexico, which date back to the 16th century, and this began with Spanish colonization.  2. The Local Market  The local market in Mazamitla is an extension of how the town is. It’s bustling with energy, but now the usual kind you will notice in a regular market. Everyone knows each other, and there is a strong sense of community.  From the local market, you can collect handicrafts made of dried pine branches. Also, you will get fresh produce and colorful silk textiles.  Moreover, if you want to try local food, you must explore the upper section of the market. This section has food vendors, and I loved Atole here. It was a hot corn barrage, which was comforting and ideal for the chill in the air.  Bote is another delicacy I found that many locals are having. This rich soup has vegetables, pork, and beef.  3. Sierra Del Tigre Mountains View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jessica Varela (@varelabere) Yes, now, here is the main thing. The reason why Mazamitla is so special! Many local companies here offer rugged safari truck drives to the beautiful hills in groups. The road to the hills is through the wilderness.  Also, as the truck moved through the wilderness, the panoramic views of the surroundings made the journey worthwhile. Further, before reaching the mountains, we stopped at Valle de Juarez. I loved the ride in a small trajinera boat in the dam here. These small boats were very colorful.  While taking the boat rides, we enjoyed a lovely view of the canals of Xochimilco in Mexico City.  After the boat ride, the truck stopped at Panaderia Don Vicente. It’s a bakery where we had the refreshments with cookies and bread. And once we all were full, we resumed our safari to the mountains.  Mazamitla Mexico: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Here are some frequently asked questions and answers about Mazamitla Mexico.  1. What Is The Best Time To Visit Mazamitla Mexico? November to February is the best time to visit Mexico. These months are cooler and drier. So, you can enjoy the beauty of the town and the mountains. Furthermore, the average temperature during the autumn and winter seasons in Mazamitla hovers around 69 degrees F.  2. What Language Do They Speak In Mazamitla? People in Mazamitla mostly speak Spanish. However, many inhabitants here speak Nahuatl and other indigenous languages.  3. Is Mazamitla Safe? Mazamitla is safe, and as a woman solo traveler, I did not face many challenges during my 2-day stay here. However, there are reports of petty crimes, and at night, there is not much mobility across the town. Read Also: What Is Villa Lala Puerto Vallarta Known For? Why Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized For Editorial Consistency? A Tour And Travel Blog Take

BY  Sibashree Sep 1, 2025

As a writer and editor of travel blogs for 10 years, grammatical consistency is of paramount importance to me. You have to be specific about the spelling convention. You cannot just choose the USA spelling convention one day and follow the British, Canadian, or Australian convention the next day.  Along with the spelling convention, capitalization, and formatting are two other important technical or basic aspects for editorial cohesion. Now, the concern I am going to address today is why Lake Texoma should be capitalized.  In this Tour and Travel Blog, I will discuss why Lake Texoma should be capitalized in all travel blogs and guides for grammatical correctness, official reasons, and more. The key areas covered in this blog are: Table of contentsWhat Is Lake Texoma, And Why Is It So Famous?1. Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized Because It Is A Proper Noun2. A Small Detail Makes A Big ImpactWhy Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What Is Lake Texoma, And Why Is It So Famous? The name Texoma stands for a blend of the states of Texas and Oklahoma, as the lake is located at the border of these two states.  Further, it is located on the Red River and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a major water reservoir, it is a major source of flood prevention, recreation, and water supply for these two states. Moreover, it is an important hub for the generation of hydroelectric power.  Also, with a shoreline of 500 miles, Lake Texoma is a popular destination for swimming, fishing, and boating. Millions of visitors flock to this beautiful lake every year.  So, it is an important tourist spot and an important local identity for the states of Texas and Oklahoma. It is also a place of national and international importance, with the construction of the lake taking us back to the days of the Second World War. Why Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized? From grammatical correctness to the U.S government confirming capitalization, there are many reasons why Lake Texoma should be capitalized.  1. Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized Because It Is A Proper Noun If we consider the basic grammatical standards, Lake Texoma should be capitalized as it is a proper noun. Furthermore, the name consists of a generic part or descriptor, Lake, and a proper noun or name, Texoma.  According to official grammatical standards, when a geographical feature has a generic descriptor and a name, both should be capitalized. For example, Mount Everest, Victoria Lake, etc.  2. All Educational And Legal Sources Use Capitalization While Writing Lake Texoma From schools to universities, many educational institutions across levels incorporate Lake Texoma in their curriculum, and everywhere it follows a capital casing.  You can check out the geography textbooks, state resource maps, and state guides. When students learn that Lake Texoma should be capitalized from the very beginning, they develop better writing style, communication skills, and grammatical correctness.  On the other hand, legal documents such as property papers, deeds, water rights, and land zoning need to have Lake Texoma in a capitalized format.  This is very crucial, as if you miscapitalize any word in a legal document, it can lead to ambiguity and can even make your clauses and claims invalid.  3. The U.S. Government Officially Confirms The Use Of Lake Texoma In Capitals You will find Lake Texoma written in a capitalized format in all public-facing government documents.  All the documents of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including news, bulletins, updates, environmental assessments, or reports, have Lake Texoma in a capitalized format.  Furthermore, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Texas Water Development Board follow the capitalization norms for reservoirs with names. So, in every document, they write “Lake Texoma.”  4. State-Level Regulations For Capitalizing Lake Texoma Oklahoma and Texas have recognized the capitalized format of Lake Texoma for all their official documents, including: Public Works Reports State Park Brochures Tourism Websites This consistency across all documents helps Lake Texoma to be recognized and registered as a geographical name of repute. 5. Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized For Editorial Consistency In reference to where I began the discussion, Lake Texoma should be capitalized to maintain editorial consistency.  If I write “lake Texoma” in one section of my article and “Lake Texoma” or “lake texoma” in other places, it impacts my credibility and professionalism as a writer.  So, Lake Texoma should be capitalized to: Make readers believe in my credibility as a writer. Showcase that I pay attention to every detail. Maintain the authenticity and authority of the guide.  Help readers avoid confusion about Lake Texoma as a general location.  Moreover, using the right and consistent capitalization format helps to improve user experience. So, it positively impacts the overall performance of my blogging site and helps me score better in the E-E-A-T assessments by Google's Quality Raters.  6. Standard Style Guides Agree That Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized The Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press (AP) Stylebook, MLA Handbook, and all other major style books suggest that Lake Texoma should be considered as a compound proper noun and should be capitalized.  In this compound proper noun, “Lake” is the general descriptor, and “Texoma” is the name of the water body.  So, all the media outlets across all formats, including North Texas e-News, KTEN, and WFAA, use Lake Texoma in a capitalized format.  Why Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized Everywhere? (Beyond Grammar 101) There are deeper reasons why we need to capitalize Lake Texoma. From the technical reasons of improving SEO practices to the more profound aspect of cultural identity, here is more about why capitalizing Lake Texoma is imperative. 1. SEO And Online Search Capitalization or casing does not directly impact how Google’s algorithm processes a keyword. However, when I capitalize Lake Texoma, it gives a positive signal about the readability, structure, and professionalism of my content.  However, there are more reasons why capitalizing Lake Texoma helps me.  • Adherence To Keyword Convention And Consistency All the tourism boards and travel sites used the spelling convention of Lake Texoma. Therefore, when I follow this convention, it enhances the relevance of the keyword and its adherence to the norm.  • Proper Capitalization Ensures Better Visibility On The Search Engine Result Page (SERP) When I capitalize Lake Texoma, which is the correct format, I improve the quality of my article.  Informative and high-quality content always has better chances of having a higher ranking on the SERP, and it can even feature in the snippets, AI overview results, or voice search queries.  • Improving CTR Or Click-Through Rates When an SEO title or meta description has a good structure, it has better chances of getting clicked. So, using Lake Texoma in the correct format will improve the clickability of my article.  2. Professionalism And Attention To Detail Capitalizing Lake Texoma helps me to maintain a professional tone and format for my article. It is all the more important in a legal, scientific, or official context.  3. Being Respectful To The Regional Identity Lale Texoma is important for the geographical and cultural landscapes of Oklahoma and Texas. So, when we write the name correctly, it shows respect for the region and the regional identity of the people there.  Also, Lake Texoma is important because of the shared emotion of the communities in these two states. So, we cannot afford to be culturally careless.  4. Lake Texoma Should Be Capitalized For Branding And Marketing How you follow the spelling and grammatical conventions and adhere to a standard style in your writing becomes a part of your brand identity.  So, when we write Lake Texoma correctly on our website, brochures, emails, campaigns, or any other marketing material, we establish our authority or credibility as a brand.  Also, with this small thing done right, a brand can get better clicks, books, or sales than its competitors. Wrong spelling and casing format are often one of the biggest turnoffs for readers.  Common Mistakes To Avoid In Lake Texoma Spelling We often overlook the correct format and make these small mistakes while writing Lake Texoma. Unique Things To Do In Montreal: Things You Must Not Miss In Canada’s Cultural Capital

BY  Sibashree Aug 20, 2025

The trade war and high tariffs are a concern. However, it is great that Montreal has managed to maintain its stability in the tourism sector.  I was just reading a report on CTV News, and there I read that Yves Lalumière, the president and CEO of Tourism Montreal, has confirmed that despite a drop in the number of European and American travelers, Montreal has managed to record a higher tourist spending than in 2024.  Furthermore, in 2025, tourism in Montreal got a major boost thanks to the 18th Edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival, Montréal International Jazz Festival, Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, and other major events.  The Montréal International Jazz Festival had a record-breaking 700,000 visitors. So, Tourism Montreal is optimistic about tourism in Montreal in 2025, and even an insider report says that hotels in Montreal have been recording an average occupancy rate of 73%.  However, it’s not just about this year! Montreal is always a cool destination and the perfect fusion of European charm and American flamboyance.  Eclectic Neighborhoods The Whiff of Freshly Baked Bagels Street Art The Festivals and Events Upcoming Major Events in Montreal Beneva Montreal Marathon - 21st September, 2025 Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal - 14th September, 2025 Conference on Language Modeling - 6th-10th October, 2025 Montreal does not need to try too hard to leave a lasting impression on you. Unique Things To Do In Montreal: Feasts, Mountain Climbs, Museum Visits And More  There is still summer in Montreal, and you have till the end of October to try the best things to do in Montreal.  So, try these ideas!  1. Stroll Through Old Montreal (Vieux-Montréal) “I want to paint Montreal as a rather fantastic city, which it was, because nobody knows today what it was like. And I'm one of the last survivors, or rapidly becoming one.” Well, Christopher Plummer may have said it; however, all you need is a walk through Old Montreal.  A European City outside Europe? Montreal it is! With cobblestone streets, 17th-century architecture, and horse-drawn carriages.  And your itinerary at Vieux-Montréal? You can start your day at Place Jacques-Cartier.  Then, you will meet an absolute Gothic masterpiece, Notre-Dame Basilica. It is also famous for the AURA light show at night.  2. Climb Mount Royal (Mont Royal) Mount Royal or Mont Royal is the crown of pride for Montreal. You can hike or take a bike ride to Kondiaronk Belvedere and experience the panoramic views of the city appearing before your eyes like pure magic.  Also, Mont Royal has its unique seasonal offerings. In the warmer months, Sundays are great for a hike to Mount Royal. At the base, you will have an amazing encounter with Tam-Tams, an informal drum circle-slash-community. You will find sword fighters and hula-hoopers there.  In the winter season, Mount Royal becomes a snowy iceland, offering outdoor activities such as: Skating Tobogganing Cross-country skiing 3. The Best Places To See Northern Lights In The USA: When And Where To Watch Aurora Borealis

BY  Sibashree Jul 9, 2025

22nd September 2025 is the date you must mark if you want to see the Northern Lights during the Autumnal Equinox.  2025 is a special year for watching the Northern Lights. On 25th June 2025, a G2 geomagnetic storm pushed the aurora south. As a result, people in Maine, New York, and the Northern Plains enjoyed the peak viewing experience.  So, are any of these the best places to see the Northern Lights in the USA? Let’s find out where and when to catch the Aurora Borealis.  However, before that, let’s briefly touch upon how the Northern Lights got its name from Galileo Galilei, the best time to witness this natural phenomenon, and other important details. What Are The Northern Lights? What Is The Best Time To See The Northern Lights? The Northern Lights are also known as the Aurora Borealis. The sun releases solar flares due to solar activity. The magnetic field of our planet attracts the flares towards itself. The flares interact with the gases in the Earth's atmosphere, such as oxygen and others. This turns gases into plasma as it is heated to a certain extent. Therefore, the Northern Lights are a plasma state of matter, where the gas is heated to a sufficiently high temperature, causing it to transition into a plasma state. These plasmas appear to be curtains of radiant purple, blue, and red, radiant lights over the skies of the Earth. This phenomenon is especially pronounced near the planet's poles. The best time to witness these lights is during the spring and autumn equinoxes. During these times, the tourists will be able to see longer northern light shows due to the Russell-Macpherson effect.  The Northern Lights can be seen clearly in the polar regions and places with clear skies and minimal light pollution. How Did The Northern Lights Become Aurora Borealis? Gallelio Gaili named the Northern Lights Aurora. The astronomer named it after the Roman Goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek God Boreas. Aurora is the Roman goddess of dawn. The goddess flies in a chariot, announcing the arrival of the sun god. The deity symbolizes renewal and a fresh start. On the other hand, Boraes is the Greek God of north winds, storms, and winter. Galileo named the phenomenon of the northern lights as Aurora Borealis in the year 1619. He thought that the phenomenon was caused by the reflection of the sunlight in the Earth’s atmosphere. However, in reality, the phenomenon was caused by the solar flares emitted by the sun. What Is The Best Place To See Northern Lights In The USA? With the boom of astro tourism, watching the Northern Lights has become an important part of tourism in the USA and many other parts of the world. As a subset of special interest tourism, Astro tourism is about to reach $400 million in 2030. No wonder that many Airbnbs in countries such as Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland have specially located and designed properties to watch this celestial magic.  Furthermore, in the USA, national parks such as Grand Canyon National Park and Great Basin National Park, as well as dark sky parks like Headlands International Dark Sky Park, have given a significant boost to tourism centered on Northern Lights viewing or overall astrotourism.  Additionally, observatories like the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) have contributed to the growth of astrotourism in the USA.  So, when it comes to choosing the best place to see the Northern Lights in the USA, we have a lot of options.  Let’s explore! 1. Top 10 Most Popular Paraguay Food That You Must Try

BY  Abdul Aziz May 1, 2024

Many of the countries in South America are popular for their exquisite and varied cuisine. However, the practices of Paraguay food are not known to many. The Paraguayan Cuisine has been influenced by the local indigenous tribe’s culinary traditions and practices brought by immigrants from Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Being a foodie myself, I love traveling around the world to have a taste of every new variety of food that the world has to offer. Visiting remote areas, meeting with new people, and trying out their traditional dishes is what I have always loved! I was also in your shoes when I first landed in Paraguay, a bit startled and confused. Although, as I began to explore, my first meal at a fancy restaurant in Asuncion changed my entire perception of the state.  Tid-Bits About Paraguay Food Classic Paraguay food includes some of the most exclusive dishes that are bound to beat any of the Peruvian or Argentine preparations. Traditional culinary elements in Paraguay food recipes consist of meat, maize, vegetables, manioc, cheese, fish, milk, and even fruits.  ‘Asado’ is a local term used for barbecue, which is referred to as both a cooking practice and a social event. In Paraguay, barbecuing is the most important mode of cooking their traditional Paraguayan food dishes.  Here in this article, I will elucidate the best dishes and popular foods in Paraguay that you must try in Paraguay this year. The Paraguay famous foods excite your taste buds and have an experience like never before.  1. Kivevé You will be stuck in a dilemma whether to count this as a main course or a dessert. Kieve is the most popular and loved Paraguay food. It is a vegetarian dish that is cooked out of andai (a type of juicy pumpkin), cornmeal, Paraguayan cheese, milk, and sugar. Kieve is a typical food in Paraguay. It has a very creamy and light texture and is orangish in color. This rich-flavored delicacy is served lukewarm and is often consumed as a side dish or even main meal, at breakfasts, and as an evening snack. 2. Chipa Considered a staple Paraguay food, Chipa is a simple bread roll that was invented by the local indigenous people in the 18th century. It is a bun that is made out of manioc or cassava flour, lard, and anise, and beaten eggs and cheese. There are different versions of Chipa available, varying over the regional influences. The bread has a very crunchy crust due to the addition of lard. The crumb is soft and has a unique flavor. It is prepared and consumed by every household in the state.  3. Bori Bori Bori-Bori (Vori-Vori) is a nutritious and flavorful thick soup that is prepared out of vegetables such as carrots, celery, onions. It is filled with meat (chicken or beef) and dumplings of cornmeal plus cheese. The prime flavoring ingredients in this soup are bay leaves, cloves, and parsley. The addition of saffron to this hearty broth makes it even more flavorful and rich golden in color. It must be served piping hot, garnished with some parsley and Paraguayan cheese on the side. It is especially popular during the winters.  4. Sopa Paraguaya This specialty is not what it sounds like. Even though SOPA translates to soup in the local language, it is not at all in the vicinity of any soupy preparations. It is the national dish of Paraguay, which resembles a cakey thick bread.  It is crafted out of cornflour, cheese, milk, and eggs. The flavor is inculcated through the use of onions and pork fat. It is usually baked and is often termed solid soup. It has a soft and crumbly texture and is served on special occasions as a side dish.  5. Mbeju Mbeju, when translated to the local Guarani language, means cake. It is a very simple and staple Paraguay food. It is a kind of starchy pancake that is prepared with cassava flour, salt, oil, milk, eggs, crumbled cheese, and even pork fat. The dough is kneaded well and rolled out thickly like a pancake. It is then fried in hot oil. It is usually consumed during breakfast, sometimes dinner, alongside a bitter herbal tea or coffee.  6. Soyo This is another popular Paraguay food, which is a thick unpassed soup. It is made with beef grounded in a mortar, rice, and vegetables, including green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Soyo is another good example of Paraguay’s famous food.  The dish is flavored with garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. The name is derived from the native Guarani phrase so’o josopy, meaning crushed meat. A whole bowl of soyo can be considered as a complete meal and has a high calorific value. It is a very healthy and refreshing drink and has high caffeine content. 8. Dulce de Mamon Here comes our most awaited syrupy sweet dessert in the list of top Paraguay food you must try! Pira Caldo Another most favored Paraguay food includes Pira Caldo. It is basically a light fish stew made with freshwater catches such as surubi, mandi’y, and tare’y. I have never in my life tasted such meaty textured fishes with a tinge of saltiness in them. Initially, vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, leeks, celery, bell peppers, and carrots are fried in pork or beef fat and are cooked with other spices. It is then combined with milk and soft white cheese to improve the thickness and flavor. 10. Hence the name. According to the local language, bife means beef, and koygua means shy or hidden. The recipe calls for the steak to be pounded first with spices, then fried with onions and topped with tomatoes. Towards the end, an egg or two is added at the top, and the dish is garnished with parsley. Puchero Paraguayo Recipe The Paraguayan version of a traditional meat stew is called Puchero paraguayo.
